There are a number of frequency crystals. In no particular order: * Standard * Radio * Gamma * Multifrequency * Infrared * Ultraviolet Off the top of my head. All of them will work, if you just want to be firing again. :)

Depends on what you want the cargo for. If its for starting out ratting, destroyers tend to be pretty good in the cargo department. If its for hauling things, mining, so forth, industrial ships are worth a look instead.
