Very good points, and yeah I thought of some of them. It's kind of a complex problem, with no perfect solution. It could be better then it is though. I totally agree ratting shouldn't change your sec status much if at all. As for testing and stuf...

High sec status does NOT mean you are not a pirate. Right now anyone that lives in 0.0 stands around 5.0 (if they rat at all). I just think it would make more sense to have your security status give an indication of your actual in game conduct.

I'd be happy with a mobile cloak generator that could be anchored at a safe spot. Then I could store a ship or two where ever. It wouldn't have to be perfect, just something to make an unoccupied ship harder to scan out.

I thought of the passive target, but fitting one gimps your ship somewhere else. The fitting system needs to be more in depth imo. If the eve universe was crossed with MOO2 ship building, I'd be in heaven. That's a little too off topic though.
