I run the program on the high end graphics settings and after the patch have noticed a drop in the warp simulation quality and audio quality.

The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly...
Yes I feel there is some of each in this patch, but it was very ambitious and I appreciate the hard work to bring a lot of new great things in!
Good: The fitting screen, skill que, new VFX and such are great! The asteroid fields are much more realistic, the crisper new graphics look great. I have not been able to dig into the wormholes yet - seems like such a rush to the area when one opens all the gates get shutdown :-(
Bad: There seems to be some odd lag issues, I have arrived at a jump gate 3 times in one case, or once even shot backwards to it - it's almost like deja vu! Also, the tractor beam always activates on the opposites direction for a moment before "finding" the target and landing on it.
Ugly: OK, say what you like but I really liked the sound of the Railguns Before - actually, I cant seem to hear anything in combat now (yes, there is no sound in space but silent shooting is no fun) The railguns now sound like cap guns - very anti-climactic. Alright, turn it all WAY UP, hmm still can't hear it very well and are my ships engines even spooling up? Pull into a Station and OUCH! I about jumped out of my chair! Station volume is SO High! Can we bring back the fun combat sounds and give the station it's own volume slider?
Thanks for all the hard work, love the game. XE

Just a few things I've noticed:
1) The drones are acting a little oddly and perhaps need a programming change/balancing. 2) The texture skin on the Hyperion is off or missing a layer, certainly not up to the detail of the other ships. 3) Sound is...meh. 4) Warp effects need to be re-thought out. 5) The POS shield effects aren't all that visually friendly.
Otherwise, haven't had any issues with the patch download and thumbs up on the patch getting rid of the macro miners! The asteroids look great and I like most of the new effects aside from those stated above. Thanks CCP, it's gotta be tough rolling this out and I'm sure we can all have a little patience to let you work the few random bugs out. Ciao

Good patch so far - a far cry from the old days of mass problems after patching, nice one CCP, you've obviously invested wisely in regression test packs etc.
Anyway, here are 3 suggestions to improve the Skill Queueing system
1) If items in the queue meet a new pre-requisite for another new skill, you should be able to add that new skill to the end of the queue since by the time it becomes active the pre-requisites for it will have been met.
2) Hovvering the mouse over the character sheet icon should provide you with the current queue timings, not just the current skill training timing.
3) I can understand the queue size being limited to 24 hours, good idea. However, it should be possible to add a long skill training to the end of the queue only. i.e. once the queue EXCEEDS 24 hours no more skills may be added, BUT it should be possible to add a skill training which extends the total training time beyond 24 hours. For example, you might be going away for a few days and want to add five 1xhour skills and 1x4 day skill to the queue. This should be allowed so long as the 4xday skill training is the last to be added to the queue.
4) On the Training Queue window, the skillbook graphic obscures the top/left menu.
Hope this helps.

Great expansion but a few too many bugs,
I am experiencing a good number of graphic card issues with this expansion that cause me to reboot, never had a problem before running at full settings and my card is capable enough to handle it. Tried updating and downgrading drivers to solve the issue but without luck. Also something is definately wrong with the audio, very low volume in some situations to non existent in others.

First, I want to say, this expansion has changed a lot of stuff! I really like the changes. I'm quite impressed with the performance of the premium graphics, even when running two clients.
I like the new sounds (took a little bit to get used to.) The fitting screen is fantastic, especially with the ability to save setups.
All in all, a fantastic update.
With one VERY VERY BAD exception: The new Scanning system.
I'm sure in theory, and on paper, and at a first glance, this system looks fantastic. I even was fascinated at first.
But try using it for a few hours, at a time. It's tedious and sadistic. There's no way to tell what yer after until you've wasted a lot of time on it. Shuffling probes around is tedious and a cause of RSS injury akin to Ultima Online without macroing.
I mean, move it, rotate the display, move it a little more, oops I missed and increased or decreased the range. ARGH. This system is horrible. As an avid fan of exploration, this is almost a game quitting change. Please change it to something else. It's sadistic. This is not gameplay, its tedious as all hell and NOT EVEN CLOSE TO FUN.

I think most of the new patch is good. Only things I don't like is the dull sounds and dont like starting a new character thats going to be my main and find out you only get 56k sp to start off with now..I know you have a 100% boost to 1.6m sp but now i have to find all these skills i would originally have before the patch and buy em all up. There was no reason to change it same with the fitting screen.

While my overall reaction to the patch is "good" there are things that should be reverted or worked on to be corrected.
Like MANY others have said, the new audio is hit and miss. I like that its not so BOOM in my headset anymore, but I did like hearing things hit me, and the boom of my missiles upon impact and the explosions of the ships in the distance. This could be reintroduced using the old Empyrean age settings or re-encoded with the new audio systems. And yes, I do run a dedicated sound card - Asus Xonar D2X.
The other, like many have said, is the warp shake when coming out of warp. I love the new look, but I miss the camera shake when I fall out of warp. Always gave me that sense of speed and my ship slowing down.
Over all, I just think that things need to be edited a little bit, but overall a great patch.
I love many of the new looks for the different module effects (warp, web, shield rep/harden). I also like the new fitting menu, except for the bubble in the middle that shows my ship, not too sure why that is there when I can just look at my ship in station.
To those of you having graphical problems:
Check you video card drivers, make sure they are up to date. If you have an older video card, you may experience until a new update comes out, pixilization, distortion, "crystallization" of your ships and other graphical anomalies.

Ok definitely some bugs that still need to be worked out. I lost 9 hours skill training time today because of the trainging que. AAARRRRGGG!!!! It was working last night when I tested it out. It also doesnt finish some skills all the way either, which could be the problem.

My only major complaint is the new warp effects. No big noises! No shaking! Fades way way before you exit warp!
These are all really sad. Can we have an option in the client to have the old warping back? Or just revert to the old one? This was one of my favorite parts of flying around in space :(

Please fix the audio.
I love the new world sound slider, but upon entering a station my ears bleed. If I try to move the slider down to prevent ear bleeding, there is no sound in space, which is lame.
Thanks!

I'm not liking the new warp animation. I think that the old one looked better. On ther other hand, I hear that the worm holes look really cool. And the asteroids look much better.

I have no sound, music or voice over in the intro movie. I like the new salvage and tractor visuals but I wish they had sound effects not just scratchy noise. The new fitting screen is very pretty, if taking a lil getting used to get the same information out of it. I had to turn down my graphics to get it running as smooth as it was prepatch. Jumping is laggy as well as warping. It wants to draw thing a lot sooner and slows Me down but wont let Me DO anything untill it says its ready, even if I'm at a dead stop. I've had multiple crashes since the patch too, pre patch I was crash free. The new jump sound effect is nice as well as the new warp graphics. I do agree with some other guy, zooming out should NOT kill all the sound, just dim it porportionaly to the soom out distantance. Hell mute them at max zoom out but NOT at a few KM from your ship. I also miss hearing other peoples ships. Hell is let Me know if some joker was cloaking around when I was too busy to scan the whole over view list. Last thing....PRE-download the patch in small chunks like, I hate to say it WOW did, anyway. HUGE patches are very annoying to lots of people. 1.4 to almost 2gigs in patches depending on which machine I was updating. Just my day one observations....

I might have missed it in the patch notes, but it appears that you can no longer decline a storyline mission? Is this a bug that needs to be addressed?
Popup window states: Cannot refuse mission - <agent> has no further missions for you.

I can take the 8 hour d/l after the restart because of the lock up the first time, things happen But when I started playing this morning, not so good. I do appreciate the odd skill thing (long as it doesn't eat skills) the work on visual (with exceptions) is also nice, but significant levels of functionality has been lost. 1) Assets screen, local shows nothing 2) Constellation will show there is something in that system, but not the correct number of jumps away. 3) Search screen shows all assets at the same number of jumps from me, ie. 5m trit in teh next door system is 44 jumps away. 4) Random visual errors, such as overview screens suddenly having a white block where the jump gate should be, then it returns to normal. 5) Fitting screen does not make high, mid and low sections obvious, the resist to the shields is not showing up as I change modules, ammo is not obvious in weapons. All these are more important data than the pretty screen in the middle. I don't mind the pretty, but I NEED the data. 6) Volume in Stations is painful. I am turning sound off again and I wanted to leave it on. 7) Sound that is important is weapon data, impacts, and firing, the rest is all for fun, that sound actually is helpful data, please return it so I have it while I'm using pulled out visual to search the battlefield. If would be fun if the sounds were a bit more distinctive of class and type. I appreciate all the work you put into this, but some of this needs to be reconsidered, and not just the bugs. Thanks for the efforts though :)

WTH ccp you totally messed up. My netbook ran eve classic fine, but now that its only prem... I just wasted 20$. I am shipping in less than 2 months, and I just wanted to sit back and play a fun game, not waste my VERY limited time and money on something that is only going to frustrate me. I have downloaded the patch, and the full client install 3 times now each. Spent nearly 2 days trying to fix this problem. And even on my work computer, I am stuck at login screen with 37/39 bulk. EVEN AFTER THE PRESCRIBED FIX. Please just help me, I sent in an email nearly 5 hours ago. 24/7 email support? What happened to it?

Hi.
To be honest i didn't read the entire forum to see if this have been asked before, but i just had a thought while tinkering with evemon.. Would it be possible to have access to the skill queue from the character page? Or to really think grand, a web client :) not a full client where you can use your ship etc. but just some character controls, maybe add stuff to production etc. etc.. of course with a built in chat function too.
I mean how great would it be to add / rearrange the que so that all needed skill are ready for you when you get home from a loooong day at work?
I just discovered using the mentioned evemon that i forgot to add a skill into the queue, so i need another 3h after i get back home to figure out how to start up my shiny new vessel.

Edited by: Sinn Adraelia on 12/03/2009 06:48:43 I must admit that I am most happy with all the upgrades the new visuals are awesome. I did not read through the entire forums so if this has been brought to your attention I appologize for repeating it.
My only complaint at the moment is that we can not group weapons while in the fitting window on stations I don't know if this is an issue while using the capital hangar fitting window, but I personally would like to group my weapons while docked if I am fitting a brand new ship. This would make fitting in a dangerous zone better because then if I have to undock under fire at least then I know my weapons are grouped and I may actually stand a chance to defend myself. I also have some very unique weapon groupings that I prefer and having the feature at the fitting window also shortens fit times and setups I really love the save feature but I don't think saving a group fit is necessary I can set the groups up in no time.
Your friendly Bounty Hunter Sinn
P.S. I really like the idea of modular ships IE the Strategic Cruisres I hope to see a frigate and battleships soon with this style of modulation.

Sounds like most people are having a great time with the new version of the game. Sadly, like a handful of others, there is no way I can get this to run on the equipment I have and I can't afford to upgrade either, so Grimmal will have to go find a new universe to play in. I remember somewhere reading (or watching) CCP saying they were committed to supporting low-end machines. Well, I guess that got overlooked in this new patch.
I will persevere but this looks like goodbye after 14 months. I'm also paid up to October so I need to think about that too.
