Well now BOB/GBC have officially withdrawn and the disbandment of the alliance (well almost), whos now going to save us from the inevitable goon/nc dominance. Eve becomes almost total napfest.. Love em or hate em eve has suddenly become a whole lot more boring. IN one way also, CCP helped them become what they did, but ironically it also helped kill them..

Tri is still attacking the north.
Its only a matter of time before goons get bored and attack someone else.

Once the mutual enemy is gone they'll just get at each others throats. This is EVE after all and most people in 0.0 are down there for the sake of combat not for sitting in their systems waiting for the next downtime. -------- Ideas for: Mining

Eh? It used to be Everyone vs GBC. Now bob is gone, the alliances are disappearing. NC will likely reset goons eventually, PL will likely reset everyone.

I guess you were not playing when similar threads like this were being made, only difference was that instead of ''goons+NC'' we had BoB or GBC. The 'Fendahlian Collective' strikes again |

Well, You have the goons. For good or for ill. Now its up to the citizens of EVE to decide what they will do about it. Will they surrender? or will they fight?

CCP's going to be changing the Sov system "soon". Hopefully it'll force 0.0 alliance's to only take a small part of space instead of hundreds or even thousands of systems.

If it breaks up the big colored regions on the sov maps a bit and mixes it up allowing for other smaller alliances or even corps to stand a chance out there it should be interesting.

There will be conflicts to break up the hegemony I'm sure. Triple Acne for one oppose the goons and once and if they're disposed of the heat will be turned up on the drone region power constellation.
There are 4 very distinct powerblocks at present and then there are all the mover and shakers inbetween that will do their best to make them turn on eachother. Triumvirate and remnants of the empire comes to mind.
Should/would/could have, HAVE you chav!

At some point the boredom will introduce itself and standings will get reset, fights over territory will start over again. Alliances will gather up at 2 or maybe 3 sides and have a slugfest.
The influence map will have some color changes and voila, a small period of relaive peace comes till boredom emerges again.

Im not sure this time, there as always been a north vs south divide as far back as i can remember, that no longer exists as a real entity now..I think the standings will be kept, just smaller skirmishes will now be with Tri, Atlas and AAA, Agression now they suddenly got bloated and maybe some smaller alliances.. |

Most online game communities when you get right down to it are nothing more than online gangs. Once a common enemy is defeated they go back to self interests, old issues are renewed and before you know it its back to buisness as ussual. It wont be long until the next biggest alliance becomes the new bob and everyone targets it. |

Anyone believing this napfest propaganda is delusional. We were not the ones piling 1400 people in to a system. Do people still see EVE as BoB vs Goons? Do people just miss the tens of thousands of players in the east who are opposed to goons? Atlas, aggression, Sc0rched earth, Against all authorities, Stain empire, c0ven, systematic chaos, IRC, ED, COW, Krautbreak and minor threat?
This war is far from over and it's heating up to be an even bigger war in the drone regions/insmother with NC, PL and GS joining the fray on the side of Legion of xDeathx and Red alliance while SOLAR are currently very neutral in this. Interesting times ahead, not boring |

Artificial barriers like these are a horrible idea. Completely against the spirit of the game. Players make the content, players control the universe, having an overlord (CCP) more or less dictating how well players are allowed to do would be silly.
If an alliance is good enough to control all of 0.0, so be it. Up to YOU to pull them down. However, you might want to consider a few things, first of all; I now have one of those annoying sigs. second; you should probably move on to some more interesting things than reading this sig.

Reading through the last 3-4 months of battlereports your side might not be the insanely huge coalition.
But you do seem to have the upper hand in all timezones except the european one. And pretty good numbers in even that one even if you got outnumbered from time to time. |

There was a fight to the finish and the goons finished it. There may be some questions to ask about this. Perhaps: "How did the Goons win" or "Why did Bob lose" but certainly not "goons didnt really Kill Bob did they?"
Yes, they did.

I only partially agree. I'd love to see an Eve where alliances can only hold space they actively live in. Seeing alliances being concentrated in a few constellations instead of spanning multiple regions because defending space is much harder would be awesome.
That shouldn't be achieved by some arbitrary cap of course, that's not Eve. Concentrating more people into less space would be a good goal, though..first all that crap space has to be made into something worth holding, of course.. |

for 0.0 concentrating people into a smaller space is bad as it bring the potential earning for people trying to make isk WAY down.
the only thing need changing is how SOv operates at it current level. As said before if you have the man power to take the area then you have the man power to defend the area. to make isk through ratting everyone need to spread out because the more people int he system the less belts you have to rat or *insert alliance ratting methods here* - less belts .
and to those saying that eve will be boring now. It will never be boring in terms of 0.0 combat and wars. All you need is someone to accidently shoot someone or a senior member to accidnely say something and BOOM war brakes out. A angry member to thrash out or a sad member not getting all the PVP he wants. I have seen wars fought over much less to start them off.
drone regions area is starting to heat up now in terms of publicity since the great war has ended since all focus has been on it since BOB were disbanded which gave the opening for full scale attack and the eyes have been on it since then . Now it all over the smaller conflicts might get a better light on the table.
the day wars ends in eve is the day i un sub. I wont have to worry it wont happen for another melenia :) |

For Clarification:
We do give a rats' rectum about Goons and their allies. We are here to secure space for some friends. Unfortunately the Eve universe looks pretty homogen with 2 Powerblocks kickin the crap out of each other. So here's how it went so far:
We engaged RA (a 2k ppl alliance) on terms with 2 Friends (MT & COW) (we 3 alliances counting 2k pilots as well). -t was fun at the start. Gangs were pretty even 120/130 RA Gangs vs our 100ish Gangs, when we went for the RYC constellation. 1v- XIX tried to save the system together with RA, so ATLAS lend us a hand to even numbers again. Had lotsa fun and pew pew and a titan got downed. Suddenly the pew pew of RA stopped and Intel about PL and GOONs moving here got in. PL located in G-G/Curse. Yesterday we had a 170 man fleet of MM/RZR/PL in Detorid roaming ATLAS space. News about the "coalition" helping out XIX in the Drone Regions (the other side of the galaxy). Fact is that whereever you go in Eve to establish yourself as a probable independent entity, you HAVE to face the naptrain. Prolly not at the start but when things get scary for them or the **** hits the fan the blobs get bigger and bigger. Everything and everyone gets dragged into this huge pile. Eve is presumably polarised. Whatever you do, the 2 naptrains will try to use the opportunity to kick each other in their nuts. You said this huge pile of naps is for defeating evil BoB and went on a holy crusade. But even though you conquered Jericho, BoB has no space anymore and Corps are leaving, you STILL don't lift any NAPS as long as it serves your purpose. The pure purpose of protecting your acquired possessions.
We try to keep our bluelist as short as possible. If you watch our killboard you'll see that even the entities you bound us with are shooting us. So get your intel straight. You didn't make Eve a better place when you removed BoB. You made it a boring place as colorful as Black and White movies and drove the metagaming to a point where this has more room in Eve than the simple pew pew a MMOG should provide.
cheers

Youve said it all in that paragraph m8.. NC (MM, Razor, TCF, MH) ,PL, GS, RA, XXDeath, (same napfest).. Now bob are gone, its only a matter of time, that the rest of GBC will be gone...SE,COW,KB and MT are hardly a threat (sorry guys no disrespect)..Only -A-, Atlas and maybe Aggression are your real problems, the rest well...
So is it going to be much of a war? or just a slaughter, or even feck this run for your lives scenario? Seriously tho? Is this the Coalition that replaces bob? looks that way... |

Well after months of fighting down south with several other entities you can't possibly expect us to reset them 1 day after kenny decided to go do FW. Mainly because people would like to get their stuff out in 1 piece. I have no idea what the RAWR leadership has planned since I'm just a grunt but, I still think that we will not keep goons and co. blue much longer since there is no threat to their new homeland anymore. |

QFT. Far too much worthless (read: no better than empire)space, and far too few "good" systems. How many systems are there with a truesec -9.0 or lower? 125. -10? 38. That might have been OK when there were only 10,000 players online consistently, but we're almost quadrouple that number now.
And don't even get me started about how mining with missiles (i.e. drone regions) killed the zydrine, nocxium and isogen markets. |

That's just the other extreme. I'm mostly talking about space like the entirety of western tribute (realsec around -0.1), the extremely screwed up mining in 0.0 ( you'll make a much better profit mining veldspar in tenal and selling the trit there than mining arkonor)
It's not the rarity of super-awesome systems that make the majority of 0.0 crappy. It's the real security status of 0.0 to -0.3/-0.4 that makes up the majority of eve 0.0 but is only used to farm cosmic sigs and drop factory outposts en masse. ----------------------------------------------

You're absolutely right, I was only using the really low truesec systems to illustrate my point. The entire distribution is...there's no other word for it...it's wrong. It's always been that way, too. Entire constellations regions with nothing better than gneiss and equally lousy spawns. Like you said, most of those systems are -0.3/-0.4, and serve no real purpose other than to put jumps between the various "good" constellations. You specifically mentioned tribute, and it's a great example. I don't mean any offense to you guys who actually live there when I ask this, but does that region serve any purpose other than connecting Vale and Deklein?
They did a better job with complex distribution, however. There are 10/10's all the way up to -0.3672 (The Serpentis Fleet Shipyard in UTKS-5), and there are 7/10 and 8/10 all over the place. Although again, there just aren't enough of them.
I have no data on moon distribution, so I won't comment.
And I really can't stress enough the damage drone alloys have done to the economy. When the lowest value alloy is worth nearly twice as much ISK/m3 as Vitreous Mercoxit, there's a problem. |

Tribute, like Providence, has one huge benefit: It's so close to empire, that one can build capitals in there with great ease. Tributes wealth can be measured in amarr factory outposts. And there are a lot of those. It's also the reason why the western constellations are more or less uninhabited..there's no point. Morsus Mihi is living in three constellations, the rest of it is only used for cosmic signatures.
Other regions, sadly, do not have the luxury of having their core systems within jump range of jita. ----------------------------------------------

Your point being that the "naptrain" only came to help them when they were threatened with being defeated?
How does that refute the guy you quoted at all?
Are you saying that if it was one entity that put them in the same danger they wouldn't have called on help to keep them alive as an entity?

We are not here to play the same Eve that you play. We are not trying to balance the powers in 0.0. We are not here to make this an enjoyable experience for you, or to give you "good fights". So stop pleading for that. We care little about "being the best". We aren't. We won because you are horrible at Eve.
The internet is a haven for nerds who need to feel dominant in internet spaceships in order to support their fragile real life egos. For them its like being able to join the Marines or Army without having to shed the spare tire around their waist, or worry about consequences when your peers do stupid things causing you to steal a bunch of stuff "just to hold it" in order to prove a point (then giving it back and having them accept you again). Therefore, we will never run out of people to hate, and there will always be delusional ***gots to burn.
While the majority of the failure alliances, corporations, and members we kill simply merge into other failed alliances and corporations like some rusted junkyard Voltron with Downs Syndrome (see Aggression/Atlas/Cult of War/Etc.), a few of these failures actually quit the game. This adds up. We realize this. Our enemies are less powerful than they were before. More so, some of the brighter members of the failure alliances we fight wake up from the cluster**** that is their horrible alliance and then join one of our allies (or just join us after pressing button and disbanding their ****ty alliance).
However, you need not worry. Unless CCP is crafty in devising new ways to allow us to grief this game (psst... this freeform contract thing isn't helping), after clearing 0.0 of more ***gots, we goons will likely try our best to ruin Empire for everybody, eventually get bored, and stop logging in. Then you can strike, claim victory, Sir Molle can say "Patience" blah blah blah.

Well, You have the goons. For good or for ill. Now its up to the citizens of EVE to decide what they will do about it. Will they surrender? or will they fight?
I think you will surrender.
Neh this has been going for a looong time. Started with almost Everyone in the south vs old curse alliance back in the day. Then after that it was pretty much Everyone vs Phoenix Alliance and Curse, then after curse fell it was everyone vs Phoenix alliance. Then everyone vs BOB, it goes on and on and on. It'll end up being everyone vs the A team eventually, and then everyone vs Goons. gotta save goons for last as a useful tool against these other alliances like Atlas, AAA, and friends.

Just a few enlightenments:
BoB will forever LIVE in its legacy, no telling what the future brings. This era right now brings all kinds of excitement and new opportunities for everyone. We all should be encouraged to have fun, cause chaos, and if you are anti-Goon, speak up and step up all over EVE, the forums, the Internet.
Some GOOD news. There is an EVE party coming up SOON and should NOT be missed! Legendary for fun and scheming by elite pilots, this year ALL are invited the whole week. Please check out Events and Gatherings sticky for the EVE BBQ 2009, and let's not be "sad" about Eve but instead celebrate our favorite game across the political landscapes

Hypocrisy? What does the unfortunate situation of RA has to do with 49-? Get down off your friggin high horse you're sitting on and realize the truth: You got installed by your allies into Delve/Q to slap BoB in the face. That's about it. Fear the day, NC + PL would reset you because they don't see any use to it anymore. I would wonder if the mighty Goonswarm including their Sov4 systems could even stand a chance vs AAA and Atlas which have combined 20% less people than you got.
You know what hypocrisy is? The fact that you open your fat mouth as if you'd sit in the driver seat but in reality you sit in the luggage trunk.
A more humble approach for you would be much more appropriate given your situation.

this belief has been around for years now and not much has changed. CCP cant force people to drop NAPs and allies so they can make all the changes in the world, if anything i see smaller alliances as more of a problem than a help; smaller means people feel more vulnerable and thus need more allies around them in times of trouble.
CCP are merely janitors in their game, they arent God.

Unless CCP is crafty in devising new ways to allow us to grief this game (psst... this freeform contract thing isn't helping), after clearing 0.0 of more ***gots, we goons will likely try our best to ruin Empire for everybody, eventually get bored, and stop logging in. roflmao... errm ok who wants to point out where we've been for the last 18 months?
Not bothering to quote, but about the 1400 in 49- comments... i think you miss the point that the GBC and pets managed to field that for a few days, which means they had the numbers. The fact that they couldn't keep up the momentum is their fault. I'm sure theirs some crappy numbers driven, turn based game out there if you don't like the way this game has developed.

They had the numbers to match but not enough motivation, Molle could only get people to come for brief periods (49-, the push leading upto i1y). The problem was that kenzoku's allies didn't really give that much of a **** about them; AAA being their worthless selves, stainwagon getting ****ed after realizing during I1Y that AAA cared more about their moongold than contributing after they ran off to khanid instead of maintaining system control, atlas prioritizing taking the south.
In retrospect I guess Molle was right about being used as a sacrificial lamb to keep things bogged down in Querious so Atlas could get finally get some space

Not sure what your point is? You accused us of being lazy and yet we travelled from pretty much the other end of everything TWICE to fight you guys, who were the aggressors. Travelled back home TWICE to react to invaders of our home and of course helped our brosefs to deliver the headshot to your bitter rear.
As far as ambition goes... well being faced by the fearsome GBC in the max campaign, how many other alliances/coalitions would have folded under the weight? Our ambitions may not be quite as arrogant as wiping people from the face of the eve universe or controlling all of 0.0 but to be able to take a chunk of space a few years ago, develop it into our 'home', repel various invasions, then take it to what has been (and kudos to them for it) the most feared alliance in eve for sometime AND beat them... well buddy i'm happy with my lot. Probably can't say the same for you, how's FW working for ya?

You lost your space twice once to MC then BoB, then jumped on the anti-bob bandwagon twice, lost the first time and won the second. My point is like most NC alliances you arenÆt proactive - you have a lot of members who have been entertained by BoB over the years. Now you have a period where the NC is dominant and has powerful allies around the universe. What are you going to with that?
History suggests you will get fat and do nothing.

Your track record is screwed. The last time BoB was proactive was when it needed to gather a so proclaimed 400 caps blob that disassembled in Tribute. Are you still under the impression this is 2006 and the only "worthy" opponent was ASCN?
I think you have a different version of proactive that doesn't fit the NC. Just as "good fights".

hmmm distortion of history ftw huh? Delve MK1... bob employed MC and various other entities to distract us during the campaign and pull us away to Tenal. we lost the majority of our space but were temp housed by MM and took it back in a few weeks once the MC cap blob has pulled out post contract.
BoB then decided on the failure that was MAX and therefore drawing us back into the fight that would have happened anyway eventually... but just as an FYI bob took Deklein mid IRON move back to their own home from DR. Nice timing on their part and of course the famous rotate *spit* tactic did us no favors. But apart from Deklein the GBC managed to get a foothold in M-O and EO only, got nowhere near Tenal at a massive cost before finally being handed the plate to park their a55e5 on. Again GBC being the aggressors the consequence being forcing our hand timewise.
As for history... well if you knew anything about RZR (can't talk on behalf of the rest of the NC) you would know fred0 and his planners insisted we started lean and have kept that way since birth in 5zxx all those years ago. Yes we have grown in size but so has our experience and our reputation. In saying aaaaall of that, everyone knows s**t happens and at some point something will happen somwhere that could spark the end, but hey.. it's just a game amiright?

now is the time we get something new, im looking forward to the future of eve for the first time in a LONG time.
i just hope ccp bring some decent game developments that compliment these changes. a new expansion would be great soon, link it to the end of the war, bring out t3 frigs and battleships. let the sleepers invade delve i say, give goonz a decent fight:p bring back a way to get a few more t2 bpos in game!!

The pure purpose of protecting your acquired possessions.
Seriously, did you expect one superpower to break up when the other one is actively attacking it? You'd have to be a fool.
When there will only be one superpower left, it will break up out of sheer boredom. Alliances need serious fights is they are to keep the ability to fight in the first place, and their leaders are experienced enough to know it. When that happen Eve will become interesting as it hasn't been in years.
But when you have, for example, ROL and ATLAS coming up north at Tri's rescue trying to ambush the NC cap fleet, it only feed the statut quo. Eve will remain tedious and boring as long as one side isn't ground into submission... ------------------------------------------

The political situation is this. Bob is dead, their space conquered, the member corps moving onto different things. This was the goal of the Coalition and they stated several times publicly and in house that after the completion of these goals, they would all mutually reset each other and go their separate ways. Well their objective has been completed for several weeks now and still no standings reset.
Why is this you ask? Quite simple actually. Goonswarm cannot do anything without someone holding their hand. The Northern Coalition (which was formed by D2 to protect territory from the now defunct BoB) entity's have only known nap and blob tactics and i doubt they will ever change. Pandemic Legion will not reset because they fear they will lose their status of pvp elite gods without having a meat shield they can blame their loses on.
Now we have Superfriends aka Southern coalition. A year ago almost every entity in this group was actively shooting each other. I believe Stainwagon alliances were the only ones previously blue. Their grouping is a direct outcome of the great war and the giant nap fest. All these independent alliances are now forced to work together in order to prevent 00 becoming controlled by 1 giant nap entity. There are also several independent entity's like TRI and Solar that receive aid from members of Superfriends for the mere purpose of trying to even up the odds stacked against them. To sum this up, we have napped each other because the Coalition has left us no choice.
The coalition has created this stagnate Cold War/superblob atmosphere and only they can end it. They wont though because that would involve taking chances and they don't want to risk their moon gold. The war can only end one way, with the destruction of the Coalition either by a standings reset or by the sword.

Well, it's easy when it comes to our plans.
ItÆs totally impossible to claim all of Eve physically. But itÆs possible to control the people. ItÆs possible to control the alliances, be it by economic means or fighting means or political means. That was the goal and that is the goal.

There was virtually no front in the east, just superfriends "helping BoB" by taking empty space. That sure helped them, amirite ? Almost as much as staying docked all day long in XX9.
It was empty cause you ran to dek, which the NC gave you. Your not gonna win this buddy. You are in TCF.....

Originally by: dastommy79 The political situation is this.

I love how people talk about this being a great war!!
Does anyone not remember CA fighting all of EVE?
It goes like this.. If you take down the big dominate alliance you then paint a target on your back. Soon enough the tides will turn and EVE will be fighting all of you.
You think the NC is happy about TCF eating up all their space? You think Goons like the fact they have no allies in the south?
EVE changes so quick and this might be the reason we all love the game.
