Well, it may show your playlist. However, you will only be able to play one song. It wonŠt play all songs in a row.

Before Dominion deployment it was ok, but now with the same graphical settings Eve kills my machine, even cursor is freezing when i'm undocking or warping to somewhere. I had played Crysis with full specs on this comp and it wasn't working *THAT* slow!

and now the final JUKEBOX FIX:
1. Open your Windows MediaPlayer 2. File-> Open->
<Navigate to the folder with the eve playlist>
3. Open the inflight.m3u
Now you see all the Abient0xx.mp3 files
Save the whole list again as new playlist into your C:....\CCP\EVE\res\Audio\Jukebox folder.
To make sure it plays again right click in your EVE client on the Jukebox "Open Playlist" and see all the songs are there.
This fixed the problem for me. All songs in row play again! Seems due the update to Dominion the inflight.m3u was corrupted somehow.

I thought the new Exploration tutorial was fantastic, definitely encouraged me to give Eve another try after getting bored to death of missions. I'm halfway through the Advanced Combat tutorial. Its pretty good too, but I had an issue on The Stand(?) mission where you're supposed to die to the two spider drones plus six Gallente battleships. For whatever reason they failed to knock down my shield for the half hour I was idling there at 20 m/s due to the two webs on me, until eventually a lucky shot destroyed my ship.

Edited by: Trangias on 05/12/2009 22:12:29 Here are few more things I've noticed. I really like that when you have control button down the overview freezes so you can take your time and see what all is there to shoot. In other words I really like how you don't need to chase stuff when the stuff keeps moving constantly on the overview. I really like this small feature, great job whoever did it :).
Then there is the control-tab improvement. I think the new graphical "iconized" way looks and works nice but there is a small important thing missing. It doesn't show the details of the info windows. For example if you have dozen "show info" windows open they all show up as "info window" or something like that. They should read "info window - Caracal" or "info window - Antimatter L". I'd also prefer if show menu was more wider and less high but that's just me.
One small change I don't like though is the way dragging stuff from one window to other throws out the "stacking these is items is not possible". That happens if you drag and drop the items on the description part of the destination window. It should be obvious that if I move and drop 20 siege launchers on top of couple of 1400 artilleries that the items are not stackable. It should just move the stuff but no it gives an error and doesn't move the stuff. It's extremely small detail but it was better before the patch.
I have to keep whining about the sea bobbing effect though. I use the "tactical overview" and the going up and down effect is really distracting. Basically it makes it impossible to see where you ship is heading when you zoom out further and the constant up and down movement also gives me a headache. Obviously the "on the sea"-effect is not so disturbing when you don't have the tactical overview on but I like using the tactical display.
Also because of the tax I moved few of my alts into new one man corp and I have to say that the corp interface is really unintuitive. For starters, creating the corp logo with that miniscule icon viewer is real eye soreness. Why do the buttons need to be so damn small? All the rest of the corp menu is just as bad, either illogical or unintuitive imho. Just like the lp sotre it needs love to be usable. Why wasn't lp store interface improved though? I thought it was going to be improved in dominion iirc... ________________________________________ I don't have a signature |

Another bug. I'm sure it got posted, but it annoys the crap out of me, so I need to get it off my chest.
When starting a new job (any type) in a lab, hitting "enter" on the keyboard with the cursor in the "runs", "m.l.", etc. type of fields, it gets stuck there and the client beeps several times, until you tab out, at which points it does the "ok" function without hitting "enter" again.
Looks like it gets stuck in a loop.

Edited by: Fred Kyong on 07/12/2009 01:30:28 And here comes the Jukebox fix (worked for me so far)
Go to your program folder your EVE installation is in, e.g.: c:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\res\
Make two new folders named:
sound\
In this sound folder make another folder called:
Music\
Copy all your mp3 songs (Ambient001 to Ambient 0xx) and the inflight.m3u from the old Eve Jukebox folder to the new "\sound\Music" folder.
Go to your EVE Client, right mouse click on JUKEBOX and set the path to c:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\res\sound\Music
When you open the Jukebox now all songs should be in. Just press > to start the first song and all the songs should play again in row.

I appreciate that but its something CCP really should be "fixing" especially since modifying the client (albeit fixing music folders for CCP ) is supposedly against the EULA.
For other feedback...
Planets looks quite nice, but several people complain about aweful lag.
Eve voice has degraded and seems very choppy/unstable for our Faction Warfare gangs now. Perhaps the additional memory/CPU for other stuff is causing the problem?
Titan change (and no mothership hp buff) is already causing Motherships to get instapopped - STUPID.
Sovreignty:
The I-Hubs/Upgrades etc are stupidly expensive, and you ignored requests to make them "buildable" by supplying blueprints and instead made them ridiculously oversized to haul. You really have not thought this through properly.
You've actually made 0.0 an even bigger enrty barrier to new/smaller alliances by the investment required. Any "deeper" 0.0 system requires you have a POS network out to there and jump freighters, as well as the billions in infrastructure just to get the infrastructure to a point that makes it "farmable" (copmarable to say...Lvl 4's - not FW missions).
I can't stress enough how disappointed I am with the new 0.0 Sov. Changing the ISK paid for POS fuel to paying CONCORD direct is taking money from ice miners (probably the most boring, unrewarded job in game now).
Paying CONCORD is also against the "emergent" theme since you're forcing people/alliances to "farm" 0.0 without providing any real incentive for "farmers" (who generally live in Empire). It is a worse system IMHO, and only the massive pressure of number of Eve players "overcrowding" might save this poor game design by forcing some into 0.0.
The dashboard looks great though. Total kills etc and the information like with the new map looks good.
The new T2 build requirements are daft. I think you've simply shifted the bottleneck
Roughly 16000 Crystal Carbonide Plate, and 9000 Microprocessors to make a Sin. The -4ME efficiency of invention would only seem to make T2 BPOs even more valuable when you scale the new stupidly high amounts of component Plates etc...
So did you learn nothing from Dr.EyoG's blog about 2/3 of T2 ships are being built by BPOs?
You had a chance to "improve" invention, lessen the impact of T2 BPOs and have failed hard - instead you have only helped crap moon mining (WHICH IS MOSTLY LARGE ALLIANCES TOO) and done sod all for "the little guy".
All in all I think Dominion is a poor set of gamplay changes but in a shiney new wrapper. As always Eve appears to get more pretty, the Artists at CCP deserve a lot of credit (with the exception of the Navy Mega camo desicion - daft!), while the "balancing team", and "game design" teams are a real let down by making the game less and less fun to play for more and more people each patch.
I wish I could comment on the "content" team's contribution; The Interceptor/Pirate Epic arcs but I've not tried them yet. My guess is they are fun for about 5 minutes like most missions until the grind sets in...
"Content" created by CCP seems tiny/moot compared to the "content" that players can or "could" create if you at CCP actually enabled players to do this by:
1. Fixing the Bounty system with tradable Kill Rights etc 2. Turning contracts into "Player created missions" - Your removal of "Freeform" contracts is an admission of failure at adding this kind of play to the game. 3. Nerf "farming" activities and reptitive style of "risk-free" play
I'd make a bigger list of suggestions and ideas, but I've done this many times over a period of 4 years playing Eve and know it will be ignored by CCP (as usual).
As an Eve veteran there is less and less reason for me to play Eve these days as it feels more about "grinding" than playing, giving you ISK to then actually "play the game". Either now I value my time more, or Eve is more boring. Sorry but thats feedback.

Now that I've had some time to play around with things...
Things that are for the WIN with dominion:
Fleet Finder and Fleet composition. Upgrading space for more resource availability. New Sov system - no more POS warfare, no more maintaining hundreds of POS'.
Things that need tweaking:
1) The decay system. This turns 00 into one big massive grind. If I go fight in a war (which can last months), if I go run wormholes for a week, if I do anything but sit in the system and mine/rat, the index we worked hard to get goes by by. I understand the -want- to make sure people are using their space, but the way that this is implemented is not a good mechanic.
Suggestions for improvement: Instead of a 'decay' of the index, charge an upkeep for the index. If we have a level 5 upgrade installed, have it charge X amount per day. Then, the alliance can decide to go do other things and just pay the bill, or not, based on how much the leaders value that upgrade. This gives more freedom to players and makes 00 more fun while ensureing that there's a reason to use that upgraded space (more cost).
2) There is no real incentive to attack another alliances space with the new system. A small corp can come in, claim a constellation, upgrade their space, make lots and lots of money, and produce anything and everything a large alliance can. There's no pressing need for additional resouces/space with the upgrades. There needs to be more resons for attacking your neighbor other than "we're tired of seeing you on the map".
Suggestion: Change the Soveringty index levels. Right now the level is based on the number of days you have a system claimed. Change it instead to be the *number of systems* you have claimed. So if you want jump bridges, you need 100 systems claimed. If you want to build titans/moms, you need 300 systems claimed. This also fixes the issue of alliances "owning" territory without actually "claiming" territory with the TCU in order to avoid paying more bills...because now they NEED more territory to do what they want to do, and have nice things that makes their lives easier as alliances.
3) Escallating combat: You guys have been looking for a LONG time to get small roaming gangs in the mix. Well now you have the opportunity to do so. Make the IHUB upgrades attackable by roaming gangs of 15-20 sub cap ships or so. The roamers "incap" the upgrades (rather than destroy them) which suspends the upgrades. The owners must then pay isk to have concord 'repair' the upgrades. This means roamers now have a direct economic impact on their enemies and means that alliances that want to take space will be able to attack their economy before bringing in the capitals to take the space.
Those three tweaks will go a long ways towords making 00 the exciting and fun place it needs to be.

I agree with most of these points.
Fix the decay time at the very least.. Right now, after 2 or 3 hours of inactivity the index resets to 0! This is extremely frustrating when trying to upgrade your industrial infrastructure! Right now there almost literally has to be dozens of people mining, ratting, plexing and whathaveyou in order to raise the index... Which leaves NO time for anything else. >.<
PLEASE ADD A "MARK ALL AS READ" BUTTON TO INBOX/ALLIANCE/CORP mail. :) It's awesome having it for Notifications, but please do it for MAIL too!

Ya know CCP u could always devote a few moments to trying to sort out the client download issues that are plaguing many paying players who arent even able to access the game at all since dominion. I have attempted download on a few occassions now and keep getting this error messgae. I have run a registry checker to ensure no errors exist and i have used the eve repair tool which does not work either. Aside from me wasting time no progress on resolution. See 2 screen shots below.

Just downloaded the patch.
Download speed: 1157kb/sec.
Whoever is reporting rubbish download times (spending hours to download) needs to get a new Internet Provider.
Install took 10 minutes and I was up and running.
Graphics stunning. Starfield cool... who is complaining about pixelization again??? lol Looks fine to me on a 20 inch screen.
I see a lot of interesting tings I have yet to explore but the download, install and lag free test run now done.. it all looks great to me!

Just to add my opinion to the mix. Good job on the graphics changes. Space seems a little less like being underwater visually now and some parts of it are actually black! This addresses probably my longest running single complaint with the game to some degree. It is now starting to feel like a space game as opposed to an underwater economy game. Don't get this bobbing up and down thing. Sort of spoils the improvement. Only time will tell if dominion fixes the 0.0 situation. A brave attempt and with some surgical and not too hasty response to feedback it just might work.... :)

No, it's to protect people from abusing the reporting tool by making temp accounts to report another player and get them in trouble.

I think I may set my game <if I ever get back in> to just go ahead and train my char for the next 26days. Maybe by then your new dominion will be up and running without a major crash every few days. This is getting redic to leave my ship in space and can't get back on because we crashed <again>
Its not encouraging me to remain with this game.

Endorses this product! How many CCP fails is this. How many expansion and they still can't get it right. Went from paing for 4 accounts to paying for 1 with cash and 2 with ISK. I cancelled my one paying account last week. I'm done when my time runs out. Shame I payed 6 months in advance for that account. good news is star trek online will be up by time that runs out.

Are there any talks about the Artillary changes that were done? The Damage seems about there now (on par with the other large turrets). But what's with this Rate of Fire Increase? I have Minmatar Battleship to 5, and Rapid Fire to 4, soon to be 5 because of these RoF changes to the 1400's. I fly a Maelstrom which gives you 5% per level bonus to your RoF, and as said before Minmatar Battleship is at 5. Yet it takes me 18.52 seconds to fire a second round. This doesn't seem excessive to anyone? A Battleship with a slower rate of fire than a Capital ship, just seems off somewhere. I can't be the only one here that thinks that.
But otherwise I think this has been a very smooth patch, and the game looks great.

Ptetty painless transition from Apo to Dominion.
Downloaded the patch in record time, installed, game back up and running. Liking the fleetfinder and some of the other improvements.
Not so much the bobbing up and down effect in space.
And hating, absolutely without reservation the sound glitch, cutting in and out, as well as the painfully annoying stargate chatter. Would have thought after Apo, with the amount fo threads dedicated to sound effects that someone responsible for the development of the game would have recognised SOUND does play an important part. Cmon guys and girls fix it....

Re: the upgrades
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pirate Detection Arrays
Each level of this upgrade gives you four anomalies per level, each of which re-spawns instantly upon completion. This mean that at Level 5 you are guaranteed to have twenty anomalies at all times in a system. These are basically dungeons which spawn waves of NPC's for you to happily shoot. The top level anomalies in terms of ISK per hour are among some of the most profitable content in the game.
These anomalies are awesome because there is a constant supply of them and there are no skill requirements to scan them down. They can be found by anyone using the onboard scanner with a 100% success rate. Basically, if you are in a system that's small enough to be covered by one probe, you will get the full list of available sites instantly and you can warp to them.
These anomalies also have a percentage chance to spawn NPC faction commanders, as well as escalate to other dungeons.
These still aren't respawning properly although they are better than they were. Despite lvl 3 though, the quality is awful and we're lucky to have battleships spawn, let alone NPC commanders and despite completing lots of them there hasn't been one escalation. The anomalies in the next system (not upgraded) are much better.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Entrapment
These are chance-based on signatures to gain access to DED complexes. Every level of upgrade increases your chances of finding both a signature and a higher level DED complex. Upon completion of running the site, there is the possibility of finding another one (no waiting until next downtime).
Since upgrading the system last week, not one signature has been found. Not ONE - again we are better off next door.
Quantum Flux Generator
This one is simple and every level increases your percentage chances to discover a wormhole in the system.
Currently that percentage chance appears to be 0 as not one wormhole has been found since upgrade, prior to which we could always find one. Yes, we are capable scanners but the whole thing is seriously disappointing with very little reward for the investment.
We now have a system that has plenty of complexes at mission level 2 difficulty and absolutely nothing else and is actually worse in terms of resources for pve than prior to upgrade.
Anyone else finding this?
