...so when scaling down, the font breaks because pixel-based fonts do that when you scale them down with simple image scaling.
Not sure if that's easily fixable. Perhaps more advanced image scaler for UI elements?

context is seperate from the scaling so it does not matter what order you do it in.
I like the 11points with 90% for clearity but if you added a little more space in the context menus between letters at 10 and 9 allot more people would use them. |

Can we PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE have links turned Yellow like they used to be?
It's really hard to identify links when they're just bolded, it's not obvious enough that there is a link there.
There's many reasons that this should be done, but I don't feel I need to emphasize this much more. Ease of use, clarity, visual indications, etc. NOSTRO AURUM NON EST AURUM VULGI |

I actually like the font as it is now. But, if the new font must be implemented, is there any plan for players to eventually select their own font style or size, the same as how they can select their own menu colors?
I know you can resize your chat font, but...perhaps I haven't found the resize controls for individual windows of the UI... |

I find new cyrillic font quite bad. Some letters are hardly distinguishable (-ƒ and -¢ for example). The one on TQ now have much better look and feel. (playing on english client) |

In the dev blog it was said that "we wanted to come up with some elegant solution that would benefit players who play on giant HD TVs and those who play on their low resolution laptops."
I gave it a try on my 40 inch TV which is sit about 8-9 feet away from. I set the resolution to 1920x1080 and scaling to 125% (the highest I was able to set) and the text is still far to small for this to be a viable option. I think the size needs to be at least double if not more for this to work. I hope this is something that can be accommodated as I would very much like to play eve from my couch. |

this is the issues thread for the new font, not on the new link styles.. it's more likely to catch attention if it's posted in a relevant thread
(like if you had issues with balancing or something else not related to the font, it wouldn't make sense to raise the issue here) CCP Punkturis | EVE UI Developer |

Agree to Salpun in general but want to extend this a little more. Font spacing in contextemenus is not adding to a good readability as it is atm and that's a fact. Possible solution is to keep the function to choose prefered font spacing e.g. with this options: normal (current spacing on sisi) - medium - wide. Please think about it :). Just a personal thing I feel limited by and hence ask for: Please also allow to show more letters in contextmenues per line (keyword: full display of longer boomarks names). |

Hey there,
I'm having an issue with the font overlap on locked targets. I use the "Vertical" arrangement for targets rather than the Horizontal and I'm getting serious overlap with usability issues over other targets when doing this :
Overlapped Target Information
As you can see it's very difficult to see and read some information when arranged in this format.
Thanks for taking the time to look at this! NOSTRO AURUM NON EST AURUM VULGI |

So we're not seeing some updates to the font then?
Now even at 100% scale when you set the menu size to 9, the text squeeze together and making it hard to read.
Can you not at least space out the letters a bit more?
Also can we have expanded width back? |

Kern Hotha wrote:I reiterate that if you're working this hard to shoehorn one font into the interface then you need to stop and refocus on actually designing a modern UI. There's no sense in putting all this time into an antiquated interface.
I have a hard time with the current UI, maybe i'm just getting old, but I'm dealing with it because this is a great game. IF you can pull off the new font, it is a step in the right direction but ultimately is not the real problem. Kern is correct and someday CCP will need to do a complete overhaul of the UI.
Personally I think the UI is very important in a game. I know other people are complaining about other problems, but this is a major part of any game IMHO.

I have an idea.
In some cases old font is better than the new font. I suggest keeping old and new font (both fonts).
By default eve client will load new font, while player can still change font in eve client. I think this is very nice idea and i think it's doable. |

Thanks for adding some shadow to in-space text so it's not completely invisible against bright backgrounds. It's still a little bit hard to read, though, so can the shadows be made a tiny bit more prominent? Compare shadows on TQ to SiSi's latest build. |

If I may ask one more tweak, it would be really nice if you could make "name list" font resize together with chat font.
It looks bit funny when you have small font in chat, but huge font in name list. Name list seem to take awful much space compared to chat area also.
