CCP is trying its best to fix the database issue. 
The only problem is that their database experts normaly flies to the ccp hq in iceland to remote fix the db in london... 
but iceland and flying these days takes a bit more time because of a seismic anomaly.......

oh well for such an epic game im surprised it dont brake more often, at least they fix things as soon as they notice it, rather than patch it and patch the patch then leave it 3 yrs then patch the patched patch then run off with the lootz like.....oh lets say EA and for instance Battlefield 2

You beat me to it Orbite. It is very expensive to run these when you account the cost of everything. Funny thing was I wasn't referring to the cost to begin with. I was talking about the brainpower to do this. I would like to see all these whiners on here try to program this game and get it to run. Understanding and writing C+, SQL or whatever program language you use isn't a day at the park. |

6.72 mil EUR a year. And obviously they dont lose anything when they screw it up. My company keeps a trade market price feed ( 25,000+ requests a second during peak time ) battery of servers with alot less EUR. If its down only a minute we're out of business.

I would like to know one thing. How was this caused was it a sneaky database or code change added in during down time that has gone horribly wrong. Or was it a hardware failure.
Why you may ask do I want to know this, the reason is because on a Friday a lot of people re gearing up for the weekend and most staff like to get out early to chill and relax so why apply a change then. If you must apply changes that are not mentioned to the community, that have the potential for this kind of impact then apply them mid week and not at the weekend when your support staff want to get away and us players want to play.
Essentially CCP has now become a victim of the SNAFU principal which states:
ôTrue communication is possible only between equals, because inferiors are more consistently rewarded for telling their superiors pleasant lies than for telling the truth.:ö

No - your calculations are incorrect. It is 300 000 accounts x 14 EU = 4 200 000 / mount which is about 140 000 per day...

the number of paid accts is over 450k with that said just because you only see 21k logged in you dont really understand that there a mnay sockets those sockets go into the server you may have 10 sockets going could be up to 200k playing at any given time
those numbers are just random numbers of online players but i think you get what im saying
