Right, so there is a big patch, everyone knows there are gonna be bugs and lag.
You take that risk.
We had fights with our enemy's, they lost. part of fighting our enemy's is to do economical damage. Now they've GAINED alot of isk by LOSING. That is just utterly lame. |

Edited by: fairimear on 10/12/2004 00:23:02 Its not just insure they have to remove. It also needs any 1 who got a ship refunded by petition to have their second refunded ship taken. and this also does not solve the ones who killed their BS for the insure and got it back.

Best thing to do is add 300 mill to every 1 who did not get a BS refunded.

What a bad bad move...
I feel like an ass for actually taking care of my boats, and I got back the Omen I suicided in a deadspace mission for the kicks.
Christmastime indeed, but two wrongs dont make a right. ----------------------------------------------

My apologies then. BoB are just the most vocal about this : )
Being the evil enemies of everyone is going to get you jumped on. However, as Oveur has stated, this is a drop in the ocean in the terms of ships destroyed in a similar timeframe. When it comes down to it, it was either have all these ship loss petitions in the queue for another week trying to sort them out or clear them all in a way that would have a large effect in the short term. Personally, I'd rather shoot for the short term and get on with bug solving. Sure, it is going to set a precedent for a large amount of players to be petitioning every ship they lose, but this is something that CCP have decided to live with for now.
EVE is constantly changing, hell this will be forgotten by a vast segment of the player base in the non too distant future, its the nature of online gaming. Those who do remember will hopefully be the ones who are sensible enough to realise that it was either this or more bugs. Hopefully....
.... diplomats should learn not to be hopeful when dealing with people : D.
There is cause for out-cry from all parties. The smart PvPers who gained next to nothing have a right to voice their concern in having an opponent who was beaten now stronger that before. the people who did receive the money should equally be concerned that this gift will turn to a curse because of the above party ganking with a new reason : ).
I say get on with it personally, if I ever get good enough at PvP to contend with evol pilots, I'd be glad to let them have another ship for me to attempt to blow up : ) But I'm a strange person : b --------------------------------------------- I'm the root of all thats evil yeah, but you can call me Cooki3
Some people couldn't get a clue, if they were in the middle of a clue field, in the middle of clue mating season, doused in clue pheromones, in a clue suit, shouting "Clooo! Clooo!" whilst beating themselves with a clue stick |

I think this is going to be heard for the whole MMROPG community around the world and they will laugh at us. They are already doing. News are flying fast. And it's going to be remember for long, long time. |

From the Eve news section:
Quote: notice from customer support regarding reimbursment for lost ships reported by GM Panzer | 2004.12.03 16:04:38 Dear players. Those of you who have sent us petitions to claim reimbursment for lost ships, please note the following: If we reimburse, we will remove the insurance payout received for the ship in question. This can in some cases result in a negative status of the characters wallet, wich can be inconvenient for those paying bills or using the market. To avoid this we encourage you to either wait patiently for our reply (not buying a new ship for the insurance payout), or make other arrangements to ensure that there is enough in your characters wallet to meet the insurance refund. Finally we want to assure you that your petition will be responded to as soon as possible. Thank you all for the patience.
-Customer Support-
So obviously GM Panzer is a n00b? He's been made to look like an idiot.
The insurance payout value of the ships reimbursed should be removed. If people are left with negative isk they should sell their spiffeh free ships.
The whole situation is bizzare.
Is it now in the players best interests (as a whole) to continually spam the petition queue for lost ships, because if you can keep the petitions at 4000 a week everyone gets a free ship? Are CCP saying that not only can't they cope with their jobs, they are going to break their own long standing policies to ease their workload?
Players who took no notice of warnings from CCP get free stuff - careful players get nothing, and that is a 'Christmas present'?
What so the the people who didn't get freebies get for Christmas? How about you let us buy all the cheap ships and isk which are going to flood ebay?
Christams?

If anyone important stops to read this thread, there remains only one solution to this messup before it spirals completely out of control:
ROLL BACK THE SERVER TO A POINT BEFORE THIS REIMBURSEMENT IMMEDIATELY, AS SOON AS POSSIBLE BEFORE THE PLAYER BASE IN GENERAL GAINS ENOUGH ASSETS TO COMPLAIN ABOUT WHEN THEY ARE REMOVED.
Then, if you feel like making any reimbursements, do it by a simple mathematical formula. Player's played for a month, he gets 10 million ISK. Player's played for 3 months, he gets 50 million ISK. Played for 6, 100 million and so on - scale the reimbursement to the amount of time people in general have been playing.

I just hope some people lose the anti-Bob prejudice and start listening. It is surely one hell of a load of money just shot into the game and surely one hellova bad precedent to set. It just makes me a laugh a bit with the irony of all the times I've sat in a ship jumping into a fleet battle and got killed with my mates before the screen loaded and none of us petitioned. Such things were just a fact of life and you got back on the horse before. It used to be easier living with such things knowing that *nobody* got handouts - now however, dear o dear - talk about a petitioners charter for the future.
This whole thing has been a roll-back, and a partially-applied and unbalanced one at that. Just because its the big-name pvp-combat vets complaining about it don't think for one moment they are one's primarily disadvantaged by the alliances just being a few hundred billion isk richer tonight.

A rollback is no solution.
That still gives our enemies their ships back.
Just take away the insurance money, then everything is fine. ______________________________________________

I agree... The GM's warned to keep the money in there if they petitioned.... If they didn't... then they should get the ship taken away. Period. If they kept the money in there like the GM said... just remove the money and all is well.
