Otherwise, looking forward to the event!
Those are for individual (though obviously people with a corp have the best chance at winning them).

That's a defeatist attitude, my friend. Our company is embracing Hulkageddon by holding our own little contest. Seeing our corp is very small (on average 3-5 people, factoring in turnover) and composed entirely of miners, our contest consists of two parts:
1) We want to see how much our corporation (ODATRIK Mining Corporation) can raise during the Hulkageddon event. Our bronze goal is 20 million ISK, our silver goal is 40 million ISK, and our gold goal is 60 million ISK. Seeing we will mine in T1 frigates to protect our mammoths and retrievers from the ravages of Hulkageddon , this will be indeed an amazing challenge, but we are just going to have fun playing our contest. ODATRIK Mining Corporation has both purchased and manufactured up to 30 probes and bursts for this operation and we even have a few wreathes on order for the hauling part. In addition, the company will cover the cost of new clones if anyone gets podded during the event.
2) A special award will be given to the one member of our corporation that sells the most mined ore. This hopefully will help the first goal rise faster. It's a nice award, made and paid for by myself, and will be given to the winner in our corp.
Miners shouldn't cry about this. We should instead make a game of it and have a good time.

Edited by: Pehk Mak''mel''ahma on 02/07/2010 19:25:43 I'm sure there is a prize for most T1 mining frigates destroyed. I'll have to check the Hulkageddon III site to confirm. Even if there is not a prize, I know someone will get bored and say, "oh look, a probe...."

TBQFH I'm not out to waste time and sec status on some guy fresh out of nub-school who's mining in a Bantam, and I think most others are with me on that.
Still, I just wouldn't mine that entire week in high sec.

Hulkageddon, an honest dissection of human thought process, I
I must admit, Helicity Boson has an interesting if not a historically worn out point of view. Her final statement, "Because it is you that is doing something wrong. Not the people that blew you up." is the same kind of statement I have seen throughout human history to justify the violent actions of despots all the way back before the first dynasty of Egypt. From a role playing standpoint, she is dead on with the likes of everybody from Alexander to ******.
ôOh we travelled from a far land, laid siege to your fair city, tore down the walls, looted, burned, pillaged your goods, ****d your women, and sold your children into slavery. But alas, we did nothing wrong because it was your fault that you didnÆt hire enough archers and build your walls and gates stronger.ö
Yea, human history is replete with examples of this form of warped logic. I say warped, because that is what most responsible societies with a rule of law, call that thought process. This being said, let us stop kidding ourselves and writing silly justifications for why we participate in Hulkageddon. We do it because it is fun, not because we are championing any pet cause, such as, all we are doing is killing macro miners.ö B.S. Most Hulkageddon participants couldnÆt discern a macro from a living breathing pilot to save their pods. Face it folks, we are doing it because it is fun, and we would not be able to get away with this kind of behavior in our current real world, which makes it even more fun.
So you lose a virtual ship that took you time to buy or build. Big deal, it is a group of pixels on a computer screen, and nothing more. So get a grip on reality and stop with the ôOMG, Eve is so harshö crap already.
And, that is what this is all about. It is a game people. A chance to live a different life for a short time away from the real harshness of reality. A chance to do something or be somebody that you would never be, or could be in reality. I see so many people saying that New Eden is a harsh world. Bah! Harsh is lugging around a hundred pound pack and rifle in 105 degree weather, and getting your head blown off by a guy in a robe with an AK-47 before you even had your first cup of coffee.
Harshness is watching your fifth generation shrimp fleet go bankrupt because of an oil spill that wiped out your business. Harshness is when your government says it can no longer pay for all the services you have come to expect, and an angry mob burns and loots your business in protest.
It is exciting and FUN for some people, to kill somebody else, especially when you are competing for awards. In Hulkageddon II, I built a bunch of destroyer, interdictor class ships to sell to the gankers, and a bunch of hulks to sell to the miners. I made out like a bandit and managed to not lose any of my own ships in the process. I guess that makes me a care bear. But that is where I find my enjoyment. To the rest of the care bears out there stop whining about how harsh it is and bragging about how justified you are in providing ships and equipment to others. There is nothing sacred about what either of you do.
You are playing the game your way and having fun doing it. DonÆt begrudge the war hawk or pirate for playing the game his way. He is having fun too. And for hell sakes let both sides stop making up excuses and ridiculous justifications for their actions.
ITÆS A GAME. ENJOY IT, YOUR WAY. To Helicity and the Hulkageddon crowd, I salute you. To those who build the ships and weapons, I salute you. PLAY ON!!!
This comment confuses me. but there ya go.

It seems the miners are getting smarter.
I recently bore witness to the set up of a small POS in a C3 w-space, complete with 4 medium beam laser turrets and a small refinery.
If you do the math, you will find that these people are mining Arkonor in their own private paradise, pulling in almost 29% more profit than what those pathetic high-sec veld-slaves are making.
Before you think otherwise, they are clearly prepared to handle the dangers that lurk in every corner behind my welcoming gates. Between no less than three bold industrialists, they've mustered a Paladin and a Navy Scorpion, ensuring that no one would dare risk taking on their might.
One can only hope that the other miners don't catch on; How can there be a Hulkageddon 4 if all the miners are tucked away in invincible fortresses, making riches others only dream of?

As others have said, sell the Primae if you don't have that much isk. A Primae can net you about 10 mil if you just go straight to the "WTB" contracts. 10 mil is more than enough to fit out at least 10 destroyers, preferably Catalysts, and should be a good start. You could probably get more than 10 destroyers with 10 mil with smart buying and market browsing.
Since you're out of a corp, the Hulkageddon Orphanage is probably your best bet regardless of whether you have a combat capable ship: As Tiberious Hook said, there is a need for someone to scoop loot. And more than likely that loot will then help you get in a few more destroyers as well.
