It does mention in outtakes video that they did the filming in their own time. Other than that the cost of making it wouldv only gone into someone else's pocket, not into the game. Like it, shows a great sense of humour on developer's side.

.....getting mission runners to actually move and go somewhere else. That's fantastic.
For once the old mission hubs will show some different faces and mission runners can still play space invaders.
Keep up the drive towards a dynamic evolving Eve

Thanks for these changes CCP!
If you look at the changes to the agent system compared to the profile and onboard-scanner changes, there are a lot of nice possibilities! So we don't need a lot of the older missionhubs any more? Wrong! There will be a lot more new hubs in 0.5 and 0.6 space. The agents still pay better than in 1.0 regardless which Q they had/have/will ever get. This is constistent with the 0.0 sanctum change. So where will all the ninjas go? Make an educated guess... And to all the guys who are scouting on wartargets: There isn't that much sense in using the standing sheet anymore, since every missionrunner could easily switch the systems as the agents stay the same. The locator agents would be the better way to go, or just start lurking around 0.5's with high amounts of L4's - so why not get rid of this hamster consuming sheet? It gets more a hunting game for everybody. - Looks fine to me! The scanner changes won't affect us all as much, as we might think. If someone wants to probe you, he'll probe you, regardless how - period. The most interesting change will probably be within all the trading networks troughout empire space. There ist much more hauling to take place in the future and i like that! Hey isn't this a change that brings even more complexity for are traders?

Unlike most US office companies that lock op their workers in boring cubicles like pigs in a stable keeping camera's on them all the time to check if they actualy do something.. And if they get depressed. just fire them and find a new victim...
If you take the time while eve is offline to look at some employee interviews You actualy see they are smiling and looking happy and talk good about their work http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7OYtXEbzUqg&feature=relmfu
I Love you CCP take your time to do it right and don't get stressed by people complaining..

Information on a pilot's standings towards NPC corporations is no longer visible from 'Show Info'. You now see the standings information between you and the other pilot and the factions you each belong to.
I still havent seen any CCP explanation for this A lot of people use this standing info for recruiting and mission runner hunting. By making this change CCP is basically destroying a lot of players' gameplay and the only source of intel available.

for real if ccp does not soon cut back on the one sided nerfing of nul-sec dwellers and gifts for the "persons" having thier envy filled exsistance in high sec. and the turn towards a wow like needed intelligens...
i can and will surely find something more worthwhile to put all that good money im spending on eve...
and its my feeling that many other players have the same little nagging feeling somewhere inside thier chest
so try something new CCP - give though to ALL your current and loyal players rather than only thinking how to get new once
I say nerf the null sec-ers till they cry and run back to hi-sec. then when the systems are all empty, the rest of us can move out there and get all the great bouties and abundant ores and all the moon mining materials we can get our greedy little jealous hands on. meanwhile, all the ex-null sec-ers, can sit around all the highsec ganker stargates crying about how bad they used to have it in nul-sec, with all its darned little difficulties and freedom to do as you please whenever you want, while having your battleship blown to bits by a bunch of ******s with smartbombed destroyers who just wanted to look cool on their killboards.

I'd guess CCP, but if you understand business, the chances are the money came out of the marketing budget, not the game budget and its not exactly a high production value video, although its well edited.
So no more worrying about the money being better spent on the game, the chances are it wouldv never been spent on the game development.

Yes eve has been simplified over the years, ive been playing for 6+ years & have noticed some things have been made easier for the new comer, imo ccp had no choice if they want to bring in a flux of new players, without them eve server would be pretty much empty by now & those whining about patches making eve too simple would be whining about the server being empty! catch 22.
6 years on i still have fun & im still learning new things within eve, unlike other mmorpgs within a few weeks i know pretty much all there is to know.
good job ccp imo, eve still has a strong playerbase theres no sign of subs declining so they are doing summit right ;)
I would argue quantity of players hardly equals a good involving MMO. Is WoW a 'great' MMO? Hardly. It's merely the most casual friendly. Forgive me for stating the blindingly obvious - but if I wanted to play WoW I'd still be playing WoW. Instead, I wanted more. More complexity. More depth. More social gameplay. More choices. More challenges.
You might stop and think a moment what type of game Eve will become if CCP continues to dumb it down. Think on whether that's the game you want to play.
All i can say is it's not what I signed up to play. I wanted a deep and involving Elite-type MMO experience. Not WoW in space. -- Frog blast the vent core! |

I would argue that without the players to keep up with costs of running a game of this epic size and complexity, there would be NO game. They cant put the price up anymore, its already expensive IMO. I dont buy more than 1 game every 4-5 months, and this to me is equivalent of 1 game every two months. Yes its sad that gameplay you find challenging and interesting is being dumbed down (believe me, I have started to find games like WoW so monotonous and repetitive, would rather blow my brains out than pay a tenner a month for it), but its hardly taken out the core gameplay mechanics. If they can just get a few more WoW fans to actually think a bit more then maybe they can convert some of those 11.5 million zombies into EVE addicts (still, not exactly preparing them for life)

Exactly. That's why Central Time is currently an hour further behind UTC than you thought. Jayden is mistaken: he's not currently in CST (Central Standard Time), but CDT (Central Daylight Time). _______________________________________________ 'The illiterate of this century are not those who cannot read and write; but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn.' |

Well, steam will do that for me. Was more wondering if keeping login screen up is a good way to see when server comes back online, then I could exit, update and restart immediately (well, as soon after the update finishes).

I'd agree with you, except Eve is already profitable, and has been for a long, long time. Granted - it's important to keep up a steady influx of new blood, but do we really want every type of player out there?
I mean I enjoyed my first few years in WoW (before the unrelenting dumbing down got too much for even a WoW player to bear), but by Burning Crusade it was packed with brats with nearly zero social skills, who *****ed about even the slightest difficulty. They saw nothing as a challenge, only an opportunity to whinge to the devs about WoW - yes WoW!!! - being too hard.
Colour me elitist, but I don't want that sort in Eve, and I don't want CCP devs to listen to those who, for reasons that escape me, persist in trying to play Eve when what they really want is an ultra-casual MMO instead. -- Frog blast the vent core! |
