This is not good, someone working in a particular direction with certain agents, but now in a heap. The beauty of this game in multi-directional characters. EVE is not for children who do not look so to simplify the gameplay. You spoil it by combining the types, classes, directions.

The patch seems to work, but CCP might change it if they need so u might have to download again when Eve opens to night

You do not know anything about scanning. You think you're learning scanning skills to find anomalies.
Scanning skills are about sending out 4 probes, finding gravametric, ladar, radar, wormholes, and other cosmic signatures. These mechanics have not changed, you still need 4 scanners, you still need to align them around the possible signature, and you still have to work you ass off to lock the signature to 100%
Having the time for the onboard scanner reduced for finding boring anomalies is just fine. Stop you crying...

UTC is universal time, or Grenwich Meridian Time(GMT) to us brits. UTC does not account for daylight saving so remains consistant. The time on each post is UTC, so you can work out the time of your post with your local time to figure out what time things will be back up. Or just work out time difference between post and their projected server online time (16.30). So about 3 hours from now, hopefully, if all goes well.

Pretty much this, CCP has in recent times gotten used to giving everyone plenty of advance warning. If you somehow missed the extended downtime warning you're a bit of a mong. ============= The People's Vivi - the blog of a high-sec carebear with dodgy teeth. ============= |

Its kind of funny to see the same questions concerning the UTC every time a patch is being implemented. For those which have trouble getting the time right: Downtime is always at 11:00. Now just add the difference between 11:00 and 16:30 to the time DT occurs in your time zone and there you are! Otherwise if DT occurs while you are offline: Just check the time displayed at the lower left of the screen once you are logged in (again) and make a mental note of the difference to your local time. Remember this when the next patch is applied. If this is too compllicated get a cheep watch/clock, set it to EVE time next time you are online and place it next to your screen And I said: Pirates? What pirates would be interested in the few rocks I have mined? 3 Minutes later I was warping back to station - in my egg... |

Seems to me the game is getting simpler for new players (good) and rocking the boat for 0.0 to break down barriers (good for newish players looking to expand their gameplay) and distributing agents to unclog lvl 4 agent systems. I don't personally like the fact that someone can scan an entire system at 64 but I think I'll live. i can scan your sister down in 1 second with no implants (so to speak) |

Well stated.
A game with homogeneous characters does not breed inter-dependence and the social interaction purportedly native to a MMO.

easier to type "UTC" on google and hit first link or pretty much any link from first page and see what UTC time it is..
But typing 3 letters in google is obviously more work than buying 2nd clock that you keep in UTC time or asking stupid questions in forums

QFT - Everything in EvE ultimately supports PvP, but PvP would not be possible without the 'carebear' miners, industrialists, etc. PvP'ers in hi-sec are the spineless thugs who prey on the emotions of the ignorant to give them an easy KM.

Now, why CCP start messing with things that aren't broken?. I would love to see more patches fixing the small things, but please keep your hands off the big right stuff. If you're trying to appeal to a dumber type of player, just say so and we'll all leave "en masse", to make room for your new customers.
I just don't want to play along with ppl dumber than me, that's it. I want to draw a line here: no one dumber than me should be allowed to play EVE. That would be a little too much, even for me!
so what you are telling us, as far as i can determine, is that you are only going to be happy in this game as long as you are the dumbest one playing it. well, have fun.
ooops... I hope they don't find out about me then, cause I'm not the brightest bulb on the Christmas tree either...
all Kidding aside though, EVE is supposed to make you think and plan.. unlike some other games I've played, EVE has always been about the next 3 to 6 months or so, while games like NavyField is generally about the next 3 minute (or 15 minute) battle.. This is one of the reasons I love playing EVE, because I have to actually plan out what I'm going to do, and when, so I can use the things I want to use, build the things I want to build, and be able to play the game the way I want to play it.
I do see some nice changes in the notes IE. the ability to easily differentiate between BPOs and BPCs, but seriously, if CCP continues to "dumb down" the game as it sometimes seems they are doing, then I think many folks are going to start looking elsewhere for something to do.
just my 0.02 worth.

Read the blog look at their videos.. read about fanfest.
Just because missions will have a more uniform payout doesnt mean it will become a childrens game. that is ridiculous. there is SO MUCH more about EVE than getting paid by a mission agent. Skill training, optimal ship fitting for PvE or PvP, mining, manufacturing, invention, exploration, and the list goes on. These things take a lot of time and effort to learn how to do effectively. Just PvP alone (ships killing each other) is a lengthy learning process that people learn about over years of play and though one aspect of many in EVE has a lt of components to it. Not the mention the 'sandbox' element of good decision making.
It is far from a childrens game and despite this one change in a minute part of the game (mission access and payout) isnt going to turn it into a childrens game.
If this small part of the game is everything to you and you feel nerfed by it, then you have not discovered EVE.

So if I can now go to an agent in 0.5 space will my rewards and bounties be higher?
I can see all the current high sec L4 hubs moving to 0.5 systems and taking all their ninja salvagers and carebear rage with them! At least people might start wondering into low sec by mistake and find out what this game is really about .... getting jumped by low sec gate camps :p
