Check your passport, schedule some vacation time and get ready to go to Iceland! The FanFest 2005 Information page is online and will be updated with new information as it becomes available.
FanFest 2004 was one of the biggest events for EVE last year. FanFest2005 promises to be bigger and better!

I'm comming!
Quote: Q: I'm <insert pirate name> and I think there might be some players wanting to inflict bodily harm on me. Is there going to be security present? A: There is security on location, but the security works for CCP so you better not have podded any them or trolled on the forums.
Funnyyyyy

I noticed the need for a pass to the actual FanFest events, Will there be an aditional charge if we find our own way to Iceland for the pass?
And can the devs provide a list of "pod on sight" players so we can know before we fly all the way to iceland only to get kicked out by security at the door.

If you make your own travel arrangements, or are an Icelandic citizen, FanFest tickets will be available through the EVE Store. Pricing is not available at this time, but last year's FanFest tickets were $50 each.

I see no under 18's avaliable? Is there no way what so ever us young'ins can join in the fun, im 16 and I had a freind who went last year.. Iv been looking forward to going for a while now but reading the bottom of the page was a heart breaker.. What if we promise not to drink eh? I mean its not like you dont have security and im sure they will be able to see how old you are.

I agree, at 16 I think we are responsible enough to understand the laws and consequences. This is like saying, I cant leave my house, because of the UK alcohol laws. I know that the under-18 market in EVE isnt that big, but still, every extra player who comes is good, right? Couldn't CCP even consider it, even if it involved barring us from certain events. Surely there isnt alcohol served at every single event.

tbh 18+ sounds good, coz then there would be permission issues and it's certainly safer on the pocket if underage ppl wern't caught drinking
Anyhow if children was allowed to go i'd have to molest em, and send em home to their mums in a bad

Unfortunately, we will not be able to waive the age limit. Every venue at last year's FanFest had alcohol available, be it the media center, the presentations, or the parties for FanFest or Airwaves. It's a party thrown by a bunch of Vikings! Would you expect less?

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAH! Oh God... *wipes tear from eye* That's rich.
Seriously though, I know there ARE 16 year olds out there that are perfectly mature for their age. The problem is my local newspaper (and I'm sure most other) are filled with evidence that there's a significant percentage of 16 year olds that can't behave.
Then again, there's tons to support the statement that a whole lot of people OVER 16 can't get their act together either. :)
Anyway, wish I could come to the Fan Fest. I probably won't be able to though. :(

Unfortunatly there arnt people out there putting a good name to things, but these are yobs who are getting pregnant at 13.. I doubt some one with the mental age of 5 is going to have the capacity to play anything like EVE, just too complicated... but that as sad thing to hear, I was very much looking forward to joining in this year.. Just gotta hope CCP are still running EVE in 2 years time

Id like to know if under 18 years old with a parental escourt, if the age limit could be waived. Seeing as your parents would not liely let you drink I dont see why the age couldnt be waived |

Thats not true, I've seen people who are 14 act very mature and 30 year olds act is if it was their first trip away from mom at the tender age of 9. The age restriction has more to do with drinking laws than age and maturity.

Is anyone else going to be lumbered with their non-eve-playing other half?
We could pack them off together on tours whilst we get down to the serious issues.
