How is it possible that eight days have passed with no answer to this? It's the one bit of info I'd very much like to know as well. -

Poor show huh?
If it's anything like last year, the CCP events aren't held at any hotel! The "get togethers" were at a cafe bar (with private area) in the middle of the Reykjavik main shopping area (sorry, I forget the name of the bar!). The main event - the conference - was held at a conference (believe it or not) centre somewhere in the city (again, I forget the name of the conference centre - darn my old age and senility). And the other events were in various bars/clubs around (yes, you've guessed it) Reykjavik! As I recall, transport was provided to/from most events from the main hotels (well, at least the Nordica).
For people making their own arrangements regarding accomodation: last year, all event were within easy reach of the city centre.
hope that helps

Has anyone thought about calling iceland air?
I did, i asked about the price diffrences, i was told it was a additional charge by a 3rd party company that was requested by the organiser.
I may be wrong, i asked the explination 3 times from a realy polite nice lady, but her english was at mach 4 (realy fast) and heavily accented. I asked whom the organiser was but she diddnt have any other information that that and wouldnt offer any othre info :/
Official corp nobody.

Flights from stanstead, ú60 each way. Cheap nasty hotel, ú250 for 4 days (twin room, sharing).
What else do I need to put together? transport to and from keflavik? *shrug* that looks to me like it's about ú600 for 2 people from .uk - well, plus the price of the EVE-fest ticket.
One thing I do need to check out before going though is where the 'EVE Stuff' will be happening. I don't mind walking a bit, but I do mind finding that I need to be 30km 'over there' in order to meet everyone.

The Flybus goes from Keflavik to Reykjavik with every incoming flight, costs about 8 or 9 quid iirc. The public transport around Reykjavik is very good, and as long as you're staying somewhere moderately central, you won't have any problem getting anywhere. The Reykjavik City Hostel is really good value for money, and you can get a private room for 2 paople, for quite a bit less than you've budgeted for. It's nice and modern, and there's a bus into the centre (takes like 10 minutes) which goes frequently from just outside. Check it out. Then I won't be all alone |

Last time I checked, the hostel was full for the duration of eve-fest. Probably booked out by people going to airwaves :/
