So from what I can see, every response thus far from CCP has indicated they are going to continue with the favouritism, with handing control of special EVE items/events over to a player/group who are known to exclude players at their discretion, which forces players to use their third party site and purchase a GTC (I'm a bit murky on this one actually, but it sounded like thats how you had to initially get credit?), and a group whose systems and services are not public to either CCP or the players (and as such, no guarantees, like the ones Navigator made about the history or trustworthiness of the player group can be made)

Hell I think CCP should give people who give us Z Killboard, EveMom, EveHQ, Somer Blink and players like Chribba unique new ships as a thank you for all the hard work they have done over the years to promote Eve.

You don't have to buy a GTC, that's just one of the ways to get blink credit. It's either that or sending them isk in game.

We want no-one to have special treatment. If you had even the slightest sense of irony it should be tingling right about now, since it was a very determined posting effort by GSF members back in the day that stopped CCP just sweeping the T20 scandal under the rug.

No one deserves special treatment by the devs of a sandbox, otherwise it stops being a sandbox.

Exactly, thats why I take the point that if somer blink wants to give away neat prizes they should be bought or manufactured in game thus maintaining the integrity of the sandbox. It saddens me that the self styled defenders of the sandbox are QQ because they didn't get anything. I point this out and I am accused of hate crimes against the goons. In actuality I have no opinion on the goons either good or bad, they are background noise in new eden, part of the story, that's all.

You have some incredible problem with goons, to the point where it defeats logical thought and you are defending a creator/overseer of a game essentially 'cheating' for their favoured players, but because some of the people - and I must stress "some"- speaking out against it are are people you are buttsore about you have to react the opposite way, and that appears to be your sole reason for supporting it - because it's something that goons, amongst countless others, disagree with

Why? Why would CCP be so keen to rush through a proposal to push a gambling site further into the architecture of the game universe? Is this type of feature a new direction for the game? Why would a virtual slot-machine need such speedy attention from the development team?

As some previous posters have stated (and I find this, ultimately whether you agree on this issue or not, to be the crux of the argument), given the list of in-game issues that still need to be addressed, and the issues with client stability, why is CCP now given over to investing *any* of its' time implementing 3rd-party gambling support??

EVE is not a gambling platform, the core gameplay is in no way related to lotteries or gambling applications - everything is either earned or taken.

Why? Because they have a new marketing guy who's completely disconnected from the player base, who's used to being able to push through terrible ideas (former NCsoft staffer here) and thinks an Asian model of game marketing will work in EVE, a game largely dominated by guys in their mid 30's who work in IT. Hes used to working on games where people get excited over purple swords, pets and cosmetic micropayment features I.e. nothing even slightly related to EVE.
