I must say it looks nice, but I would still like to say something about color. Most of the color, blue, green, black and other look good, except one, the red seems somehow unnatural, and in addition quite tiring your eyes when you looking at her for a long time as the background, so it might not be a bad idea to remove it completely from background except perhaps for some minor parts. |

To all worried about performance issues: I have seen no comments by users about any client slowdown. I have seen none, in fact my Mac may be running faster with the current Sisi build.
But the acid test is a mass fight. So come to the Mass test on Thursday and lets stress this baby! CCP employees should never proclaim a feature to be awesome. Only subscribers should. Subscribers can never answer a question posed to CCP. Only CCP can. |

Am flying around on the test server. Probably 300 jumps or more total. Nice surprise in Tenerifis. Was not expecting something that far out in 0.0. |

CCP, you are doing an amazing job with the next patch. Hybrid buff, capital changes, new ships and modules, now this.
The new nebulae are absolutely stunning. I am re-experiencing my first moments in EVE when the amazing beauty of the game brought tears to my eyes.
My only question is whether you got any inspiration from Hubble's pictures. http://www.youtube.com/user/zeitgeistmovie?blend=1&ob=4#p/u/23/Lio3n66bwOo This ****'s got to go - Jacque Fresco |

Two comments regarding nebulas.
First, Can you make the caldari nebula a little less bland? The amarr one looks great with lots of dark filaments and various other pieces of eye candy even with the same color palette. The Gallente nebula looks nice with lots of dark shadows and that really great green color. The caldari one just looks like a blue smudge. Almost as if Bob Ross was painting his background prior to starting his actual painting. Perhaps you can add a little more shadows or perhaps some more color? Something akin to the Lagoon Nebula or The Ring nebula. If you insist on the defuse nebula you have now, perhaps you can add some enveloped stars or some bright globular clusters that aren't reachable? Something to break up the streaky blue you have.
My second suggestion/comment is that you should add a bit more variation to the maps so that the further away from the core of a nebula, the less the area is enveloped. Case in point in Niarja you are enveloped within the amarr nebula. But once you jump out, you're pretty far from it. Might I suggest that border stars have a dominating sky but not envelopment? That is to say that when you are close to a border star, the nebula dominates the sky but doesn't envelope it entirely. Now I have yet to look at all the areas and new nebulas but that was just something that caught my eye while traveling. |

I originally though that Nebula upgrade was going to be a waist of time and resources, adding nothing to the game
I have finally had to take a look at the up grade. I do have to say I was wrong. It really spices up the back ground, Making the game feel more clarity of "Real". It makes the eye candy of Eve more attractive, including the lighting effects from the stars
Saw a still from another person's post of a Vagabond in combat - It looked like orginal art not a part of game play.
I have been Proven wrong again... let the self loathing begin. I agree with several people: CCP needs to focus most of eve's recources on FIS, but the development of WIS still needs to continue, just as a slower and more efficient pace. In eve I wish to be more than just a machine. |

THANK YOU VERY MUCH WHOEVER NOTED THE GATE ORIENTATION THING!!!!
I've been trying to get the word out on that for ages...this is a major +1 !!!
It always seemed weird to fly to another star and the gate was pointing a weird direction when the next star is actually above the plane of the system... Is my ship teleporting or is it being flung across the galaxy?? The way it was setup made me think i'm just teleporting, now I feel we'll be going somewhere for real. :)
Also one thing that bugs me along those lines, despite the fact that the system orbits of the planets are in 3 dimensions, the planets are always on a flat plane...how bout having some of the planets above the system and below it? Even better would be that depending on the time of the year, the position of the planet along it's orbit is moved. Bookmarks associated with an object should move with that object IE a bookmark for a planet should always be in the same place reletive to that orbital position, but a static point bookmark could potentially be in mid space half way through the year because the planet has moved it's reletive location.
Would also be nice to see the stations move in the sense that the customs offices and space stations are on the light side of the planet, while other times they're on the dark side based on the time of day. Everything is always in a geosyncronous orbit and it's kind of unrealistic. Since we're talking about changing orientations of jump gates, those are static objects and wouldn't orbit, unless they're positioned around a planet.
Again, this is a nice to have thing, i'm sure it's a pretty hard thing to implement since you'd have to implement gravitational physics lol... |

Dear CCP,
There is one question that i have to ask and it is kind of important. CCP,..with the new backgrounds and all your proposing, keeping in mind that you all tryed this once before,...how bad of a hit to the computers resouirces is this going to be and are the computers out there in EVE that we all are running going to be able to handle the extra load?
If i remember correctly, you all did this a couple patcs ago, and you all did an exelent job at it too, the planets were bigger, brighter and all the graphix were more robust BUT,....Things took for ever to load and the lag was not from the server but from the client end just to load the graphix when warping around and stuff,...
If i remember correctly, the programmers has to remove the bigger graphix, back things down a bit just so that the hardware out there could handle the client.
The question that i have for you is just this, is this going to be another gaff?
I hope not, i truthfully love EVE, I did take a break from it and just resontly returned from my hyatus,....resontly I built a new machine but im just wondering if it will be able to handle the extra load.

Really good question.
But anyway.
Dear CCP,
i hope that you will also fix the directional light effects that a Gate produce when someone is materialized and squeezed through the Gate. I think it really helps to better understand the visual part of the effect or better to enhance it where what goes where.

If we're going to worry about gate orientation, can we finally get full three-axis control of our ships and stop having the things all auto-orient in the same way? And ditch the banking in turns, too. These flight mechanics just are not visually realistic. |

Hi all, I just saw the new blog and I'm very much impressed with the new change that will point the gates in the right direction. I always wanted to see that done... thumbs up CCP =)
While your're at it could you please fix the gallente gates?
I don't know how many ppl noticed but the beam of light that shoots out when the gallente gate is activated is tilted a little to the left. It's not shooting in the same direction as the gate is pointing. I'm not sure if the biggest gate has that issue but I'm certain the smaller ones do have it.
I never posted about this because it's a minor bug, but if you're working with gates you might aswell fix it. I do mind details and it's a bit annoying ;)
Keep up the good work, Mind |

When I viewed the samples posted in the blog I was struck by the fact that stars in, or behind, the nebula dust were no different in hue/brightness/intensity than those stars not occluded by star dust. Of course that is just an observation from the sample.
I love the idea this update is addressing. :D |

Are we going to finally see the long awaited update to missile launchers, which NEED HARDPOINTS? Currently, and for since ever, missiles just miraculously poop themselves out from within the middle of the space-time vortex that is created in the middle of your ship. I was expecting that to finally be fixed with the turret improvements but for naught. If that is not in this expansion, or there is no hint at it being looked into, then I will be disappointed. |

I picked this thread since it deals with Eve's visual content.
I've been playing Eve Online for over 3 1/2 years on the lowest settings available due to having a 10 year old computer. It worked OK but after all the updated graphics to the game, it was having long load times and very noticeable lag, even with the Captains Quarters deactivated.
Old Computer: HP clone - Win XP Pro AMIBIOS - P4VXASD2 Intel Pentium 4 CPU 2.40 GHz Nvidia GeForce 6200 80GB Hard Drive 1GB Ram
All the patches and expansions along with Window's updates coupled with Anti Virus and a couple of other programs had basically almost filled up my poor old computer. The game was still playable but since Eve will continue to do upgrades, patches and expansions, I knew I had to upgrade my system as well.
So I decided to just get a new computer which has made a really big difference in both visual and performance. I now have all Eve settings set to the highest options available. Load times are very very quick, no noticeable lag and the visual graphics are most excellent. And this is while docking at Jita 4/4 with the Captains Quarters active.
New Computer: HP P62020T - Win 7 Home Prem 64 Intel Pentium G620 CPU Nvidia GeForce GT 520 500GB Hard Drive 4GB Ram
The computer was a package deal from HP for $400 which also included a few programs, 1x CD Read/Write Drive, Integrated Sound Card, Ethernet and USB Ports, wired keyboard / mouse, etc. The computer was ordered on-line with free shipping and delivered within 2 weeks. This computer has plenty of room to upgrade everything later in the future when needed. Hopefully this one will last me for another 10 years.
Anyway, after connecting my Sony 2.1 40watt sound system, LG Flattron 22" Wide LCD monitor and MS wireless keyboard / mouse, I spent a couple of hours getting acquainted with Win 7 and then downloaded Eve Online.
Gratz to CCP and the Devs for all their hard work.
I am a very impressed happy camper now and look forward to enjoying Eve Online at high settings for a very long time.
