These are great models, thanks Smiffa!
I'm not very good at assembling paper models, I've considered trying to print them on sheet styren (or use the paper forms as a template) so I can assemble using styrene braces at the joints, sand and fill, etc.
But that's a time-consuming project and who knows when a dabbler like me would get around to it. If/when I do, I'll post the results!
It's not that you're 'roleplaying a jerk'... it's a matter of typecasting. |

Now that you mention it, Rifter part 6A on sheet 3 doesn't look like it came out right in the letter layout. Nobody else has mentioned this, so I wonder if it is just my reader. I am using Adobe Reader 7.0.

Predacious: Yes the 'holes' on part 6A are misaligned in the Rifter US Letter pdf. I inked over the messed up white bits in black and it came out fine.
I'd like to see a Kestrel/Manticore too!

Ok, i'm confused
do i need to carve/cut out a section of part (14,15,16) once i put it together to put the pods/pontoons/fromt thinggys on?

Wow, nice Tulia! Did you ink all the edges in? I can't see any white lines and it looks great.
22a and 22b should go underneath (but not touching) parts 17a and 17b. They connect either side of that middle section to the two beam parts (the ones with all the slanting thin folded over pieces on - all the stuff on sheet 4 of the US letter pdf).

i still don't see how it fits/is oreinted very well
would you be able to assing a different color/texture to 22 in that pic?

maybe it could even be done like... so it'd be a little balance thing like those toys? ya know? the stand being just a little pole and it balance on the middle?
honestly personally I would prefer a Ishkur/Incursus/Enyo though, but I guess thats too much curves,

This is so cool. Made a proof of concept on the rifter with ordinary copy paper in B&W. Going to get A3 prints in color on thick paper for sure!
A big help on the documentation and assembly help would be pictures taken while you do the assembly. A bit late on the first two I guess. :)
Just pictures from more than one angle and closeup on details on the final product would be a big help.

With great alot of patience and luck. I have one of the lower pods completed and it looks great. You have to work the paper back and forth until it all starts to make sense. I'm hoping this is one of the more difficult areas as it stumped me for awhile.
I haven't had time to put into it the last week or so but hopefully this week I can get back into it.

*applauds* Begins photoquality print outs of the heron ond rifter... Welp next time I find my self camped and a half I'll know what I can waste my time on instead of homework or grading papers :) Props on these designs big time you have real talent and could put it to use and make some money. I would deffinantly See if CCP would have interest in you making them a bunch of the different ships for a paper model book to sell or something...
And of coarse for people like me to burn my money on and fill their room with even more EVE stuff. :P

Too bad about the rifter, it looks like someone just threw a bunch of junk togeather. Oh wait, it's mimntar, thats how its supposed to look.  (great job on that one as well).
If you do happen to do a BS will it be to scale? If so it would be huge!

Edit: To scale is out of the question, a Megathron would be about 20 feet in legenth if done to this scale (6.5meters). A Caldari Titan would be 280 feet long (85 meters)
These were all calculated assuming the paper heron is 40 cm tall.

Funnily enough, you talking about scale and all - thats the exact figure I came up with this afternoon. Next one won't be 6.5m long (it's still a dream though...  ) though it will be impressive.
