Wow really neat. :)
I've no idea how you work but you might want to look into the TŠ or fation variations of the ships (mostly some other texture and some extent parts (e.g. extra launchers with the Caldari Navy Raven compared to the normal one).
Perhaps it would require wouldn't require too much work to add another texture if you get them out of the EVE files once you already have the original model.

I'm sorry about that . I've been promising this so I'll make it a priority this coming week. If it's any consolation, I got confused at a couple of points making the model pictured in the OP. For starters, best score all the black/grey lines (as someone else said, these can be pretty darned hard to see so look closely and use the PDF on-screen to compare). Also try assembling a part without glue first to see how it folds together.
Once again, my apologies for the lack of instructions, I'll include some from the start with the next model and add some to the Rifter as soon as I can.

I find that it really helps to score the sheet BEFORE you cut it up, since it'll make things much easier to fold. Also, use a LED flashlight (not a lamp or else the ink might run!) to shine directly on the sheet, it'll make the lines much easier to see. As for folding, I haven't gotten to that point yet. For some reason I'm working at a much slower pace than I'd like. The hours just seems to fly by without even my knowing... ---------- |

Some pictures and comments from my build :D
First off, I have been using sealant foam to give the model some internal structure. You can pick up a can at your local hardware store for about $5 USD. Remeber if you choose to use foam on your model to get the minimal expansion type of foam (no more thatn 10%) or your models will explode :D

And here is a part that has been foamed :D
Part #1 - The upper vent "My alts manticore in the background :D"
Parts #1 and #2 - Assembled
Parts #3 and #4 - Assembled
Parts #5 - Both Sides
Parts #1, #2, #5 - Assembled and foamed.

What model format does EVE use and does that program support it?

For filling in the insides, it gives it structure so it doesn't buckle or collapse in on itself. -------------------------------------[04:04:04] Tom Thumb > for a nut case you rawk

And a brilliant idea at that, once I start work on making my own, I will do it this way. Waiting for some more models first though.
It'd be nice if there could be a way to keep the scale (reasonably) accurate though.
But Ican't see how you could cut down the size of the frigates by too much without making them impossible to give much detail too, or make a Battleship smaller than your dining room table.
But damn, that would be one hell of a centerpiece hanging over the table come the holidays...

What kind of glue should I use? Rubber cement doesn't hold and regular Elmer's glue leaves a stain if I have excess runoff. ---------- |

Wow, really impressive work :)
Even though I have lost a lot of blood (someone left out proper adult scissors with sharp pointy bits on ) my model Rifter is coming on good :) Any chance of some gun models to stick on it? Rifters look kinda funny when not armed to the teeth Bring out more funky paper patterns for us to play with (Tempest model would be awesome) as your work is very cool

Here's another tip: if you find your ballpoint pen jamming and starting to tear up the paper instead of scoring it (happens very easily on photo paper, which is what I'm using), try scoring it with the X-acto knife instead. I find that it gives very clean lines that are easy to write over with a darker-colored pen.
Oh, and if you're working on certain parts where the back side of the paper will show and you think the paper is thick enough to handle it (like photo paper, God I love the stuff), use a sharpie or a black marker and color in the back. It might smell horrible but at least the white won't contrast with the darker colors on the rifter. ---------- |
