I cant believe that the company behind the game can be more frustrating then the game it self (died five times, and 100.000 (100k) isk for 1 message to a corp, with no reply!!! and thats in the first two weeks).
I nearly abandoned the game, due to my own problems in game, and now that I cant pay for it using paypal, whats the point of continuing if the company doesnt keep us all informed and provide a FIX for this MASSIVE problem.
Lets put it in a nice way
25,000 Players, I will hassard a guess the half use paypal/paybycash. The problem has been going on for a month now, so;
12,500 x ú10 = ú125,000 loss in revenue, per month.
12,500 x 30 days = 375,000 more days to sleep/work/read (read: boredom).

Ok im posting with my girlfriends account as i cant get my account up at them moment.
ive payed for my eve online account using the payby cash method with paypal,ive used this and have never had any problems until now. 
I have noticed a difference though, in who the online payment is being made out to.
All my other transactions make the virtual cheque payable to Eve-Online, but this last one that is not going though that is sitting in my paypal account unclaimed by ccp is being payed to [email protected] .
This must be wrong and if so it means the people at paybycash have changed who they write the virtual cheque to.
assumpsutions aside this really does suxor though

Any chance of a rough ETA on a fix for the paypal issue? I'm about 7 days from account expiration and currently unable to renew...ah well guess it's time to stick squadron command 5 on and go get some revision done for the uni exams in may.......... :s

I've just paid by paypal for 2 accounts and didnt get any error messages at all. I'm waiting on 1 account to be reactivated and the other runs out tomorrow  Because I didnt get any error message does it mean its all fixed now?
edit: I also have receipts for these transactions

Paypal/PBC appears to be back up and runnign, i've just sent mine to activate just this minute as i wa stypng this with the results.
Good work everyone involved in sorting it, am sure that soion there would have been a crowd with pitchforks ranting again

I'm still waiting for my main to be reactivated. I cant even log into character manager to see when my skill runs out. Petition has been sent but havent even had an acknowledge email from ccp yet

well mine has goen to the same address Viking and in the status it has got "Unclaimed" so it may be processed tomorrow when CCP offices re-open and the transactions are processed by finance/accounts team if its not doen by 10pm tomorrow then i'd begin to wonder whats happened

a payment for 1 month (approx 13 euros) has gone from my account and paid to
[email protected]
in status it says "Unclaimed"
will wait till tomorrow evenign 2100 GMT when i get in from work and see if status has changed any bu tit looks lile it just needs to be claimed and accepted by CCP.
it did say it was something was unregistered when i clicked the "PAY" button so maybe CCP needs to reactivate summat to continue to accept payments automatically

Well I tried to extend my sub last night - got a reciept and it all seemed to work, however still no sign of sub actually extending and paypal is reporting the cash transferred from my bank account but unclaimed......looks like someone needs a poke with a large pointy stick

Well the payment has gone through for mine now, so I've just gone to renew my other account and now there isn't any paypal option through paybycash any more.

Ok I want to buy one more power of 2 account before the offer ends but I haven't been able to find the link for about the last 36 hours. What the hell is going on? Am I going to miss out? I have three paid accounts so I should be able to buy three power of 2s, but I have only been able to buy 2.

I've only read through the first and last pages of this thread, seems im not the only one who is is the position of serious setbacks (i've two weeks til my 6 months unsubscribed is up and account gets deleted ) if paypal through paybycash option cannot be used.
I've just paid for another account to be reactivated, so it can benefit this account i'm trying to ressurect now, but if i can't get both working theres no point!
I was wondering if anyone knew an alternative (step by step, i'm a paypal newbie) to getting paypal payment and reactivation working asap.

[ccp take note: some people would just walk away from a situation like this and permanently give up on the game, get paypal working soon, directly not through paybycash!]

There is a way, you can set up a splash plastic acct, and load cash onto it with a maestro card. iirc both solo and switch have the maestro logo. Just make when registering, you enter your address exactly as it is on your bank statement.

sorry mate, as much as iike there is other options to pay, your talking more money and more time, not a good idea in my eyes.
as for the paypal issue, CCP even tho i am abit annoyed with the fact they anit sorted it yet, are not in the wrong, they did give me 10 days free play to make up for it, and also they can't be blamed for something paypal did, and its not upto them to deal with paybycash issue and also there not the only company to be affected by this, EA also are. just hope it gets fixed soon thats all

I'll guess by the fact that you use ú that you live in the UK. I'd say maybe 20% of people in the UK *only* have a silly switch card (as I have said earlier in this thread switch is a domestic only system and SUCKS for ALL international transactions, dont know why the hell you didnt go for Visa/Delta....). I'd say UK players make up maybe 10% of EVEs userbase. Of these 2% that are from the UK and only have a switch card, I'd say 50% just stopped whining and payed by one of the many other PBC methods, or borrowed a friend/familiy members PROPER debit card, or just bout a timecode with ISK.
I think it would be much closer to 1% of people affected than 50%.

I had to use PayByCash myself for a while, and I'm pretty sure SplashPlastic worked out the same price or cheaper than paypal

I always find it interesting how people can come up with numbers based on nothing but their own opinion and then claim their numbers are more or less correct.
While I admit I'm annoyed by this whole situation, you'd think this thread would have a lot more posts if it was anywhere near those numbers.

Are there any known issues with Mastercard CC validation? I have a petition (Ref: 060322-000302) running because I can't get my CC validated.
The CC works because I can pay/buy other stuff with it and my CC contact person suggested that it might have to do with the card validation number.
I'm allready waiting a week for this to resolve and I have no idea what I can do about it.

I think you'll find that A) Paying with Splash Plastic works out at the same price as paying with paypal, and B) If you bothered to try it, you'll find that it would take, oh, about the same time as setting up a paypal account.
You can add cash straight onto your account during setup so you don't have to wait for the card to be sent out.

Thanks FI, i checked it out, looks like you have to receive the card first to top it up at a store, before using it online, so it'd take days.
edit: Didn't read your last post first; so, i don't have to get the card first then, the topping up is done by bank transfer instead though? Like paypal was (and still took days!). Cannot be bothered for the one off unless i have to...
Someone else said you can use a visa delta debit card, that would work for me, would you just use it like you would in a credit card registration?
That would be a lot less hassle. |
