My PC's graphics card broke today - just as I got my processor fixed up well enough to have a half-decent view distance (33% on all sliders). Got to wait another week or two for a new PC

im gona buy a new one then i guess
according to their forums there doesn't seem to be a problem with the Geforce FX (apart from the low end ones) so much as it's just crap.
Been hearing lots of nice things about the 6600GT though, good for a budget card. Considering getting one myself, to upgrade from my vanilla 6600 (heard as much as 50% performance difference)
what would advise me to buy then (bear in mind i dont have muh money to spend on it)
it said on their site there are performance issues with the lower end FX cards for soe unknown reason =/

Horse summon would be useful for those times that some asshat steals your horse.
Last night I stepped out of Chorral and I saw a guy hop on a horse and haul ass. As soon as I noticed how fast he was going,, I realized he horse-jacked Shadowmare from me, and needless to say, I couldn't do a damn thing to catch him.
So I just went back to Tarragut and picked him up.

I just recently bought it for the PC. Everything runs ok as expected but the game play is meh... It was going real good and I was enjoying it untill a lot of the "Cheese" factor started hitting. Like when I killed a couple wolves that had umm gold on them. Then I joined the "Dark Brootherhood?" guild thingy and we had female assassins saying "Oh I'm so happy I'm in the guild. I can't wait for my next contract" type of stuff. Then after that I like stole some guards horse (was rather funny) and like he loads when I load in the game. Then on top of that a couple of contracts like the first one of killing the pirate captin will sometimes cause a guard to mysteriousy appear. It's also funny to watch because you know it zooms in on them when they try to arrest you. You like kill the captin in the boat and he just appears in air hehe.
So yeah not to pleased about the game. I know some don't care about simple or minor things like that but to me it's all about the setting and feel of the game. The graphics and everything else rocks but yeah the "Cheese" factor has made it bad for me =(

Give the modders some time to get the good stuff out. I'm sure you'll enjoy it more once they tweak it a bit.

For those of you stuggling to run it on the PC, on the official forums there are some nice tweak guides available. For example tweaking grass density, LOD, number of grids to load and so on. Using one of them (canŠt remember which one so canŠt link ) I managed to get the game running about 10 FPS better outdoors AND look better than the default settings.
IŠll try to dig up the guide I used.
Specs are: AMD 64 2800 6800GT 1.5Gb RAM

Yeah, it's high def. :) It'd kill you if I told you which one though.
Had a buddy of mine who plays it on his PC swing by to compare, he actually prefers the 360 version. He says the graphics are smoother overall and clearer on my TV, and of course the surround sound I have helps. He also seemed to prefer playing on a sofa rather than in front of the PC.
To each his own of course, but I agree with him. :)

I've recently aquired a 43" HD Plasma - it does indeed Rock
Still prefer Oblivion on the PC though, I can't get on with Console controllers.

I went with a 61" Samsung DLP, and a 1080 progressive model to boot. I set my 360 at 1080i and have my retinas melted by Oblivion. The detail level there is insane.

Very nice, I looked at the DLP but I can see a Rainbox sheen on them when things move too fast, it's weird because not everyone can see it
I'd have gone for the 50" version of mine, but it's just tooo big, you must have a big room to fit that badboy in, or did you install it in your Garden ?

Depends a lot on the source. I went to one store where there was horrible RF interference on the signals to their HDTVs, they had some really screwy way of connecting them all together. At a different store, I saw crystal clear pictures. Never seen any rainbowing on mine.

I don't think so. That's a great idea though, would be hilarious if it worked. Populate the world with them, maybe the more you sire the more powerful you become, and the more hunted by humans.

I think I heard of a few people working on a mod for it... Haven't been a vampire yet myself(silly 175% Resist Disease) and they all end up dead before they get near me.
