We have seen a lot of work done to ensure that perceived 'mining bots' have been reduced or removed entirely by a sustained campaign of AFK cloaking camps in null and suicide gankers in highsec. These benevolent efforts have gone a long way towards ensuring the players who actually play the game are not ripped off by those who use more nefarious means (botting / automation)
However we still lack adequate means / efforts to reduce the impact upon the economy made by ratting bots. How can it be fair to the people who actually play the game to have their profits reduced by those who afk farm rat belts and anoms afk for 23 hours every day.
So i have a proposal for tackling the issue. Alongside the proposed reduction in rat drops of refinable loots we also lower the bounties of rats found in belts and anomalies as well as removing any chance or seriously reducing the chance of faction spawns in said belts and anomalys. 'But this isnt fair'!, i hear you cry.
In order to compensate the players who live in null and rightfully deserve an increased profit for thier time in game; we move the faction spawns into scannable plex's and increase the bounties on the ordinary rats in said plex's We also increase the drop rate of valuable modules from scannable plex's
All of these outlined proposals would not only 'cut off the oxygen' of the botters so to speak. But will also ensure that those players who actually play the game get maximised profits for their hard work and for their loots.
Discuss.

by removing supply/demand from the equation governing bounty payouts it will be fair to everyone.

So where are these armies of null sec bots you are talking about?
Got any proof.. screenshots etc?
I ask this question because over the last month I have spent a great deal of time in the following places,
Great Wildlands Scalding Pass Wicked Creek Insmother Detroid Immensea Tenerifis
All on a alt doing Data / Relic / Ghost sites and so far I have not seen one person who I would say is acting like a bot.
So again, where exactly are these army of bots you are talking about? |

I also fail to see where there are ratting bots. In ye'olde days the ratting drake/raven/tengu bot was fairly common (but not even as much as the mining bots in high sec ice belts), but i haven't seen them in about a year now. Also the people in the region where i live seem very alive and aware behind their accounts, because they talk in local when spoken to, and i think the ishtar/dominix thingy is not really a bottable ship to bot, but maybe i am wrong regarding this.
With the changes in interceptors this way of botting has become very dangerous as well. If you don't vigilantly watch intel channels and have a scout in pipe systems you gonna lose ships. *Snip* Removed trolling part of the post. ISD Ezwal. *Snip* Please refrain from personal attacks. ISD Ezwal. |

Mostly in high-sec but low and null is infested too. See this for more details: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1CZR9w3ftjY
The most relevant parts are around 18-20 minutes and 33-35 minutes. But I recommend you watch all of it. The part between 35 and 37 minutes is hilarious. Also you said afk cloakers work against miner bots. They obviously work just as well against ratting bots. "CCP is changing policy, and has asked that we discontinue the bonus credit program after November 7th. So until then, enjoy a super-bonus of 1B Blink Credit for each 60-day GTC you buy!"

Well the parts between 18 - 20 minutes do not mention location at all and is about The strike rule and types of bots.
The other part is showing that HS seems to be the worst place for all types of bots so pretty much destroys the OP's argument that its all in null. |

Considering CCP showed themselves during fanfest that most bots work out of HS pretty much kills your argument.. well if you had a argument and you weren't just a raving paranoid lunatic..
Sorry that is right, CCP is working with the null sec Cartels so of course that would mean they would create an entire false presentation to show that HS is actually the worse place for bots.

small side note
Concord do not intervene between PC's in nul-sec Concord do not patrol nul-sec Gates Concord do not maintain Gate Guns in nul-sec Concord do not maintain Station Guns in nul-sec Concord pay bounties on NPC Pirates in nul-sec
1 of those mini-facts seems out of place.
Now how can you A) Remove Belt Ratting as a RMT/Botting resource B) Make Industry more relevant in making nul-sec more self-sufficient.
yeah, I know .. many tears, much anger, such nerfing. but it's not 2005 anymore, it's time for nul-sec to remove the training wheels |
