First off, there are some cool features in here. I like the big avatars, the whole thing seems faster, I like the new layout.
However, basic functionality has been removed, Many parts of this forum are a downgrade from the old forums, and there are many many bugs that should have been worked out in the alpha stages.
The main reason I'm pissed about this is because this is clearly not finished, yet we are being forced to use it.

How would you feel if they shut down tranquility and told everyone to go use SiSi until Incarna is released?

I'm not saying there aren't legit issues that need to be discussed and fixed. I'm only suggesting that maybe there's a more civil way to go about dialogging with CCP on these kinds of things. Raging isn't it.

Why does a forum need big avatars? Who gives a rats ass what the person posting looks like? I use a forum for information etc. You can easily make an excellent forum without the need for all the glitzy crap. Content is waaaaaaaay more important than seeing what shade of eyeliner Milla is wearing.

What I want to know is. How do I turn off the likes received thing or how do I keep from receiving likes?

If I wanted to be liked. I wouldn't be playing EvE.

I think that the like thing isn't so you can say "I like this person...I want to snuggle up next to them in my hangar"...it's a way of saying "I like this post/support this post".

Clicking a topic sends you to the last page of replies. How on earth are we to know what the actual subject of the forum entry is without scrolling back to page 1?

I don't know if it's just me, but I sort of expect to open the first page of a thread the first time I click on it, not the last. What possible use could I ever have of opening the last page without knowing what the thread is actually about?

Maybe it's just me who's stupid and don't understand how to open the first page of a thread, does someone know if there is a setting or something I could change to open the first page by default instead? And while on the subject of settings I'd like to be able to disable the warnings about external pages.

Problem 4 : Readability sucks.

On top of the fact that you're eating from the both vertical and horizontal display areas, SOMEHOW you managed to make the actual text EVEN LESS READABLE than it was on the old forums.
I can't put a finger on it and say it's the font type or size or colours chosen for text and background, or maybe the weird contrast between the huge portrait plus large text beside it and the tiny text for the actual posts... but fact remains, IT IS HARDER TO READ.
Fix : look at the old forum, copy the style as it was there. It's THAT simple.
