Malenfant Storm DARK BR0THERHOOD	Posted - 2007.04.22 12:35:00 - [1] Well i'm back at uni and totally unable toplay eve unless I go find somewhere with a wireless internet connection so I figured i'd amuse myself by coming up with some new ship names. Right now i'm going with a norse mythology theme so I have a drake called fenrir and an old caracal called the mjolnir. Anway what do you name your ships and why?

I name my ships after women I know (or wish I knew), scaling the associated person with how much I like the ship. There are some exceptions (I don't know anyone called Rattlecakes) but some examples: Crow - Jenny (gf) Flycatcher - Sofi Ree (best friend) 2 x Brutix - Mary-Kate & Ashley (Olsen, duh) etc. Kind sucks when they get popped though. --- Indigo Fade is now selling jumpclones for superb prices, please see Marquis Dean's bio and/or evemail/convo him ingame.

And I don't want to scare off potential people in local, or invite people who think they can take on my ship class (probably because they have a bigger shipclass and can take me on). TK-XXX (ie TK-245) for a TacKler YR-XXX (ie YR-164) for a solo pirate ship (YarR) Recently I have starting calling my ships things like "Doomed" and "Short-lived" etc. When I have a ship that I don't intend to lose for a while, it gets a name out of random obscure sci-fi novels I read.

All my maledictions are called "Nipple" for no good reason other than the fact that I'm not hugely keen on 'ceptors. Omens and 'Geddons are "Pew Pew" and "PEW PEW" respectively for obvious reasons. Malers and Prophs are "Hard Nut" and "Tough Nut" though I forget which way round it is. My Harbinger is "Furio", my Arbitrator is "Beehive" and my Anathema is "Shadow". My Ashimmu, once fitted, will be "Shimmy". Currently thinking of HAC and Recon names for the near future (Sac = "Very Tough Nut"?) - - - - - - - - - - Give this a read.

The numeral indicated the # of times the ship had been salvaged via petition minus 1. The container/wreck one can actually fool noobs with directional scanners. Also naming t2 ships after their t1 counterparts is great. "See look it says right there, 'Zhaymus Hockhold's Merlin' easy kill!" this char doesn't fly AFs but you get the idea. Sorry if someone already posted these, I didn't want to read this thread.

My Hyperion is Bright-Nail which is a sword from another fantasy book. And my Malediction is called Thunderbolt 3, it's a courier ship so it's fitted for speed over long distances. And no 1 and 2 were not destroyed they were retired as I worked my way up the performance ladder.

So after assembling the ship it would be "El Verbatim's Rifter", I change it into "(other charname)'s Rifter". Preferably the name of a guy that is present in my area. Gives the impression that there's an abandonded ship on scanner when the guy is not in system or when he is in system, appears to be an easy victim. It also doesn't give the impression that you know what you're doing because you changed your shipname to something cool .

Heeba! Andale! Andale! Heeba!). - My Trasher: Dawg (Because it's purpose it to pick up junk).

For style issues I make the first letter lowercase and then put a period at the end: Absolution: "sanctity." Damnation: "longevity." Malediction: "ferocity." Crusader: "intensity." Heretic: "perpetuity." Guardian: "substantiality." Impel: "continuity." Hurricane: "intrepidity." Navy Apocalypse: "USS Divinity" ^^ That one only deviates slightly. :) Proud member of The New Order.
