Originally by: Cpt Pugwash You would imagine Evol would revoke his access rights immediately and petition ccp thereafter.
You really think by the time CCP heard of this there was going to be any more damage done?
A couple of points.
- Most of this sort of stuff isn't logged to the level where directors/CEO can concretely tell who did it without catching them in the act.
- Some things cannot be revoked for 24hrs - eg ships in POS's etc. A player with no roles can still cause alot of havoc.
Once you start taking stuff out of the wallet you can now (since revelations finally) tell who's spending the isk. Previously as long as it wasn't a withdrawal you had no idea.

Originally by: Darknesss People are saying this is low, and bad and terrible. I REALLY disagree with corp theft but in this case i dont think anyone can feel sorry for evolution.
Its no secret that BoB arent afraid to use any legitimate actions no matter how lame people view them to get ahead. For example when they smartbombed the D2 titan just as it logged, i think this is justice, they played dirty, and now its been done right back at them.
BUT they arent the only ones to 'play dirty' as you call it. As I see it, people only hate BoB cause they cant beat them, cause a fair proportion of them are vets of the game and actually know it well enough. Ok, maybe SB'ing a titan to aggro it ain't the nicest of things to do, but its within game mechanics. Which is more than what can be said for certain other alliances...*coughredswarmcough*...
And as for feeling sorry for them...yea actually people CAN feel sorry for them. As you yourself said, they use legitimate actions to achieve their goals. The fact that they do anything it takes shows them as being dedicated, imho.
(disclaimer: views are of my own not of my alliance etc. etc. my alliance's standings with BoB dont affect my views etc. etc.)

Corp thefts suck but to say STK was hurt in the long run is untrue, we have enough infrastructure to rebuild a T1 BPO portofolio within weeks of the theft occuring. I imagine Evol should be in a much more capable place with the income from the alliance pets they have. If you know STK you know we dont make isk off T1 but T2.

For any other corp this would be terrible (friend or foe) but becuase this is Evolution and inparticular Sirmolles corp i find this most agreeable.
Its only a shame that the dude beat the many goon bothans to the honey pot, ah well time for them to move to RKK, i hear they have some pretty cool stuff and loads of stupid alts they arnt tracking

got to say, 300 billion (upward end of what people are saying was taken) in a 'communist' corp with 400 members who give 90-100% assetts to the corp.... thats what? A week? This seems like a loss for sure, a costly breach of trust for sure.... Hardly a killing blow though. Trillions in T2 BPO's, all still intact, their production capability is intact. Only way this could possibly be an issue for them is if it was immediately followed by a massive incursion into their space to take advantage of their gimped logistics.... as it is.... i don't get the impression that RA / Goons etc. are in a position to do this now are they.

Corp theft in eve is a sad event, regardless of who it happens to and for what reason. At the end of the day, isk can be replaced, but the most painful part of it is that it calls into question the relationship you thought you had with the person that commited the offence.
I think it was dianabolic that commented in a thread to say that he would happily loose x amount of isk to find out that someone shouldnt be in the corp, or words to that effect. Thats fine, providing you find this out at an early stage, and they cant get much from it. But it takes a strong leadership to take this on the chin and not start to second guess every new member and every old vet that comes back after absence and wants back in.
I have a slightly twisted viewpoint on the whole corp theft thing, as I think a certain amount of freedom should be left for people to infiltrate corps and make a livving from espionage and theft of assets, yet at the same time I feel that people, that one day just decide to steal as much as they can from people they are firends with, only serve to lower my perception of the community as a whole.

Ya'll need to get off that old nag and try riding a real horse for a change. If you think game mechanics are being abused, there's a button in game called 'petition', use it. Sig removed. If you would like further details please mail [email protected] with a link to your signature. - Elmo Pug

Give the GM's a break, wasn't so much the fact it was corp theft, it was the hacking accusation that cause it.
And tbh they just doing the job they're meant to.

corp theft sucks whoever the corp or alliance stolen from.
i think that anyone laughing at bob may well regret doing so as from personal experience i know that bob corps have tenacious spirits and will not rest until their enemies are destroyed.
