I think all those idiots saying BoB is whining about lag should read the whole thread and not just the bits they want to read - everyone, BoB, goons, RA and TCF have all complained about the lag. So please stop the ' bob are rubbish because they want to play without lag' comments - it just makes you look stupid.
and the guy that said reduced lag would favour BoB is spot on, PvP skill would shine through without lag - lag makes the game all about numbers rather than skill.

i'm just curious, because i'm reading things along this line in a number of threads. is the general thought behind this line of thinking, that goonies actually invented the lag-fight? as in, they were the first ones to lag out a node to take out a pos, etc? because that's exactly what a lot of these posts sound like. or was it someone else, PRE-goonies, that used those lag tactics to their own advantage?
just curious. heck, maybe the goonies invented eve?
Lag was always a part of the game. Unfortunately CCP cant accomodate sheer numbers that goons/RA and others able to bring to the field.
Maybe its time to rethink the idea of ONE BIG MASSIVE UNIVERSE.
Maybe a neutral empire mission runner should actually fight in a fleet battle before passing judgement.

In fact one reason that the T2 snipe battleship is so popular in every alliance is that this type of ship are lag-resistant. Playing a T2 battleship is not very difficult. Align, lock and shot. It is less affected by lag than ships such as suicide close range boat that have to get close to its target before firing and so have to do complex trajectory to be successfull.
A lag free environment in favor of bob ? Not sure. netherless i want a lag free environnement !!!

No, but when you have 150 BS and 100 support vs 100 bs and 300 support and when the said support have more than enough time to get into BS blob... Goons are excelent meatshield for BS / cap fleets.

From a historical report on the "fall of rome".
Many scholars maintain that rather than a "fall", the changes can more accurately be described as a complex transformation. Over time many theories have been proposed on why the Empire fell, or whether indeed it fell at all.
An interesting historical note and comparison considering none of us can actualy die in eve and all we do is move around to another area/alliance/corp.

Substantive debate has yielded a scholarly consensus of "butts," though recent theorists have contended that, in fact, "dongs."

You see Goonswarm is a lot like Odoacer who sent the Imperial Regalia back to the emperor Zeno, and the Roman Senate sadly informed[citation needed] Zeno that he was now the Emperor of what was left of the Roman world. Zeno probably expected that the Italians under the leadership of the senate would start a revolt and reorganize the Western Roman Empire,[citation needed] however there are no records of any significant resistance or insurgency against Odoacer. Zeno soon received two deputations. One was from Odoacer requesting that his control of Italy be formally recognized by the Empire, in which case he would acknowledge Zeno's supremacy. The other deputation was from Nepos, asking for support to regain the throne. Zeno granted Odoacer the title Patrician.

Whats with all this history stuff...who cares
Goons ra tcf are using the limitation of the game atm , ie ; the game cant handle large fleet battles with out lag, not saying anyone else wouldnt do the same with same amount of numbers
So all the chest beating is really pointless, if everyone could play on a level playing field, i think the results in the war would be alot different and alot more fun for both sides. Which tbh is why we all play, aint it.

How is lag not a "level playing field"? It affects us exactly the same as it affects BoB.
Lag is not a new thing in this game. When ASCN was losing, they blamed their losses on lag. BoB's response was that losers complain, BoB knows how to play in lag. So what happened?
Also, it seems awfully coincidental that BoB was basically steamrolling us right until Revelations 2 hit with the supercap nerfs... and then it was like they hit a brick wall. The patch notes for Rev 2 might as well have stated "BoB can no longer destroy or defend POSes."
It's not lag that's hurting BoB. It's that they can no longer play Eve in godmode.

What im saying is that a gang of t1 cruisers of 400 can kill a gang of 150 t2 fitted ships not because of the skil of the ships but because of the lag to activate modules and such so numbers will always win over skills. You gotta agree with that buddy. If 1000 members of SWA suicided you in ibis's and could kill your 400 strong cruiser gang, you would be abit ****ed off even though it would be as funny as hell

There isn't, not any more. There used to be. Before Rev 2, Titans were unkillable as long as they had a pilot at the helm. Especially since they could Doomsday without even needing to be near enemy ships. Being able to destroy hundreds of enemy ships from far away without even the risk of taking damage... I would call that godmode, wouldn't you?

Again, neither coalition nor BoB numbers changed drastically between Revelation 1 and Revelation 2. And yet, BoB drove us out of 2 regions before Rev 2. And then they stopped dead at the precise moment Rev 2 came out, and are now in the process of kindly giving us back all of our space. What do you think the explanation for that is?

The explanation is that now, a single titan can't neutralize a full fleet. In fact, it could. But it could die too :)
