FATAL
The way you talk is exactly why you always loose your space. You give up quickly because you don't have the confidence and perserverance required for real 0.0 warfare.
Like BOB, you hope wars don't last long and hope that a few victories is enough to make the ennemy surrender.
You think 66-PMM is taking a long time because you saw BOB "conquer" it with POS spam in the past wile there was no counter POS spam. You have no idea how it is to keep destroying large towers while the ennemy keeps spamming deathstars.

Nothing was said about it taking too long what was asked was why it was taking longer than the other systems GOON have taken and if what you say is true your the only person to actualy give a answer.
And i was asking for myself not for the whole of FATAL.

Ok so is the new BoB talking point "Yeah you're taking our space, but you're doing it so sloooooooooooooow, what's wrong goonies?" because it's becoming increasingly hard to keep up these days.
And for the record, GF isn't taking 66-, UNL is. And 66- hasn't taken half as long as 9-9/XGH did. And UNL will control it at the end of this week unless BoB actually grows some balls and uses their dreads. And if you think 66- is taking awhile, just wait until we enter the RIT meatgrinder.

Who is the guy who's saying that BoB would have kicked our ass in a lag free environment?
The last time I can recall BoB wiping the floor with us was when the mass desync thing was going on. Even with roughly equal numbers every fight I have seen have been pretty brutal with heavy casualties on both sides. BoB is good, but not so good that they can beat fleets that outnumber them so vastly.
And as BoB noted, GoonSwarm fleets are getting better - more battleships, more T2 - while the masses of faction fitted HACs coming our way seem to be a thing of the past. This means our quantitative superiority is coinciding with a qualitative improvement.
I think what some of you guys are forgetting is that when you see 200 BoB, it's not like 200 RKK or something. BoB fleets are now allied-heavy. With all respect to Rise, FinFleet, EXE, et al, they aren't exactly RKK.
As far as I can tell, BoB attendances seem to be dropping while we have been getting allies wanting to join in on fights from all over the place.
In fact, a lag free environment last night would probably have ended in the BoB fleet getting eliminated. Our dictors couldn't trap the BoB fleet, who gangwarped out, as it was too laggy to bubble (in the first major fight). Tacklers couldn't tackle, because modules wouldn't fire.
About my lag point: For instance, earlier today in 66- a RSF fleet was consistently beating an outnumbered BoB + allies fleet, on a weekend, in Eurotime. There was very little lag during these small gang fights. BoB et al had battleships too. But it's possible it could have been just a lousy FC or something.

I am not getting into an argument as to the abilities of FATAL as an alliance, but if you think that the goons as they are now have less ability than 90% of the alliances out there then you have clearly never flown with them or against them.
If they have 90% the skill why did they lose with over 100% more ppl and now need 300+% to actualy take a system back or two.
I didnt say they have 90% of the skill of BoB, I said they were as good as 90% of the alliance out there. Lets face it most of the alliances in the game are not that massively different in terms of skill when viewed as a whole save for a handful at the top.
As for the numbers, of course you need a numerical advantage when you are fighting BoB (omnipitence itselfÖ) as they are probably the most effective alliance in the game especially at fleet combat as well as being backed up by multiple titans and other super caps. .

BoB has been the greatest force in EVE since day one. They shaped the 0.0 space and everything around them. But every great empire eventually runs out of gas. Players leave cause game is unplayable, some take a leave cause of real life events or just cause there are other games out there. Its good to see someone creating a new force out there.
We all know if RAGOON indeed defeats BoB, they will become an agressor and start pushing other alliances out of their space. All the "WE ARE SAVING YOU FROM BOB aka THE OPPRESSOR" propoganda is just that, propoganda. But thats how EvE runs its course, people come and go, alliance are created and disbanded, wars are won and lost.
P.S. I'm not talking out of my ass btw. I played this game almost from Beta and quit last year. Posting this on my friends alt

On a side note, i was never a part of any major 0.0 alliance, more of an empire mission w***e. Nor BoB or anyone else effected my game play, so this is striclty a neutral opinion.

I take it you mean some corps which are in the current BoB were of some influence since early on?
Since BoB did not exist since day 1, but instead is an alliance that exists with this name since late in 2004. (September 2004, I believe.)
At this time BoB was fighting with PA in Branch, Venal and Tenal. There is different stories on the exact sequel of events, but it is a fact that PA remained the owner of this region after the fighting ended about 4 months later.
BoB then went to Delve and started to successfully grow from there.
The point at which BoB became a general threat to EVE was not until the victory over ASCN.
We all know where the story was going from there.

Edited by: Gromodzilla on 05/08/2007 19:34:50 Of course i mean BoB as individual corps, alliances werent even in the game back then. But it was always EVOL BNC, RKK and ATUK (i think) who were doing all the killing.
Lets not get in to GNW, from what i remember Venal and Tenal were under full BoB control and many PA corps simply left the area and came back when area was vacant again.
Again i'm just telling you what i think, i wasnt a mamaber of any of those corporations, so i might be 100% wrong.

Please show me where Goonfleet has used this argument as to our present conflict?
While you're at it, take a look around at who has proclaimed they want to "control all of 0.0 space"
We're simply fighting the same enemy we've been fighting since we were attacked by them last year.

Goonswarm isn't claiming to be the good guys of Eve, nor do they claim to be doing anything out of a sense of altruism or charity. They're fighting the same enemy almost everyone else is fighting, and that enemy happens to have grown to be the most influential alliance in Eve. There's no denying that. However, I would much rather see Goonswarm triumph than BoB, because at least Goons have a sense of humor I can get behind. Screw eve politics, I have laughter.
I admit I'm biased though, since a Goon was the one who got me to play this game in the first place <--- proof that Goons are helping CCP. ---

i'm just curious, because i'm reading things along this line in a number of threads. is the general thought behind this line of thinking, that goonies actually invented the lag-fight? as in, they were the first ones to lag out a node to take out a pos, etc? because that's exactly what a lot of these posts sound like. or was it someone else, PRE-goonies, that used those lag tactics to their own advantage?

Lag was always a part of the game. Unfortunately CCP cant accomodate sheer numbers that goons/RA and others able to bring to the field.
Maybe its time to rethink the idea of ONE BIG MASSIVE UNIVERSE.

The lag whining is funny. Usually it's some fruity alliance that gets trounced by BoB who complains about lag and BoB boasting about how good they are at minimizing the effect of it. Staying out of combat is a decent way to do that I suppose.

QFT its really a sad day in eve when people who train for the skills to use t2 etc cant use them because of lag, so now eve becomes, numbers > skills... why train for skills when shear numbers alone will guarentee victory, whats is the point in anyone flying t2 in fleet we might as well all fly t1.
