I'm with Eclipse and had problems logging on generally this morning (not EVE), but a modem reboot solved that. Played most of the morning ~10am to downtime, but then had problems logging immediately afterwards...same issue as op, hung on Checking status. However, another modem reboot and I'm back flying just fine.

Hello:
Want to let you know that we recieved a call from this ISP and we provided them with the IP information that is used to connect to TQ, they are looking into the issue from there end and will try to resolve it.
We are working with the ISP in sorting the issue out.

Okay, on the blower once again.. Here's an update...
Eclipse can't find anything wrong that would be causing this.
Evolution and Business options run through the same exchanges, the only difference is the level at which they're capped, speed/bandwidth wise.
After a langthy discussion, we're all agreed it's unlikely to be a DNS problem.
Eclipse are pretty much out of ideas as to the cause. However, CCP can't be directly to blame either, because it's only (so it seems, for the most part) eclipse users expericing the problem.
With the problem being intermitten, they suspect a software problem on CCP's end. But with it being limited to eclipse users, this idea is in the barrel, so to speak.
Still on the phone, will update you soon.
[By the way, I'm in Minmatar space.. Illinfrik system.]

I lost a ship due to this in Ruvas in Caldari space at about 0430 UK time. The petition is in so as you can imagine i'm quite interested about where the "blame" for this problem actually lies.
Happy that both CCP and Eclipse are looking into it though.
I've been logged in now for about half an hour, and it seems stable, but hey, the day is young |

I'm lucky I've been docked this whole time. But I haven't managed to maintain a connection for more than 5-10 minutes so far. same syptoms as before.

If nothing else it shows that Eclipse are an ISP who take tech. support seriously. Not really a surprise to me as I've heard that before.
I had two drops on Saturday morning (my ISP is Be) which made me a bit wary but they didn't happen again so it's probably not related. IIRC Be connect to Eve's cluster using Tiscali ( ) but it's a low latency connection that's normally very good. -- (Battle hardened industrialist)

Just wanted to say that I am with Eclipse and also experience intermittent loss of connection to EVE, which can take 10-30 mins it seems to clear up before I can log in again.
The latest occurance being last night it dropped me just once, but I could recconnect again after about 10 mins and a system reboot.
I live in Bristol.

Okay, after a very long call, we don't seem to have made much progress. A suggestion to use "http-tunnel" to try and see if that lets me connect (A workaround suggested for tiscali/pipex people with a similar problem).

Still waiting at aquiring bulk data right now, with a very slow transfer of data. I'm not hopeful, to be honest.

I am also with eclipse and have been having problems for a couple of days.
- Modules not activating - Black screen logins/undocks - Bulk data freezes - CTD's - Connection losts - Checking status freezes

Well, the http-tunnel idea didn't really work. Tried it twice, never got passed aquiring bulk data.
Tried it the usual way, and it connected. Let's see how long for, shall we.

For those expericing problems could you post a TRACERT going to 87.237.38.200
Also see what you get when you TELNET 87.237.38.200 26000
You should get a screen with some jumbled characters and ending with LIVE@ccp
You can scramble the first 2 hops on your TRACERT IP address listing but it helps to have hops 3 and onwards listed.

Telnet responded with garbage, and the LIVE@ccp
Managed to stay connected for about 30 minutes, but as soon as I actually performed anything (In this case, a lookup on the market) I was dropped.

I'm not entirely sure, to be honest. It's possible, even plausible, but one would expect a higher frequency of packet loss between users and TQ. From what I've seen, there's virtually no packetloss, which pretty much rules out a physical line problem (Break in a cable, water in a box etc).

Have just phoned Eclipse, apparently EVE has changed their IP address and Eclipse DNS is updating.
The guy said it should be ok tomorrow or friday morning, we'll see.
Eclipse are a pretty good ISP so I do have faith in them. Lets see what happens

I'd love to agree with you, but they've been saying that all day, and as I pointed out to their tech folks, a dns propgation would absolutely *not* cause intermitten connection issues, and absolutely would *not* cause a problem when connecting direct to the IP (by manually inputting it in to Eve client). Sorry to say, it's highly doubtfull that it's anything even remotely related to a DNS propogation.

Edited by: Maceross on 15/08/2007 17:34:45 ok its 18:23 BST (17:23 eve time), I just got home from work and I cannot log in at all. The game gets the "entering station" dialogue, the bar fills all the way to the end but then it stays and I have to close the game (i left it for about 5 mins).
here is my tracert

I run vista, and cant find telnet, erm maybe i dont have it on my version! (home premium, and yes i have used telnet before with xp).
EDIT: The game has finished logging in now, I'll see how it goes, i must admit the problem does not seem as bad for me as it does for the OP, altho his exact same symptoms do occur for me on occasion.
