I've got a email back from my bugreport this morning regarding the Crash during warp under Vista and it says that they cant reproduce the bug, if i get any more problems send in a bug report.
So the 2.2 patch has effectively broken my game completely and there's nothing i can do about it apart from wait and see if it happens after the next patch.
Has anyone else got any better response regarding the CTD issue or is that the only response we are going to get?

Disabling audio should fix this for the time being if you are experiencing this crashing issue. We are working on a permanent fix for this.

Ever since the patch, I cant get in the game at all. I deleted and reinstalled Eve twice and no luck.
So I decided to cancel both my accounts because there is no point in paying for a game I can't play. I'll get back in as soon as it's fixed. 
Enough rambling on my part. What happened is that every time I click on eve to start the game, all I see is a big black square on my screen where the EVE login should be. I can't put in my account name or password because it's just a black square on my screen.

I just verified that disabling sound in game solves the crashing issue in Vista.

And yes, I'ved tried reinstalling everything.
I still need a response on this. I see questions being answered that were posted AFTER my question was asked. I don't mind waiting my turn, but I do mind being passed up on my turn :(

I have a question regarding the Draftsman and Consul implants.
With them being removed from the LP store, I can assume these implants will no longer be in the game. What will happen to those who have already bought/plugged one or more of these implants? Will they work eventually? Will we get compensation in some shape or form for buying an implant that never worked?

Long shot, but there is logic in trying it:
1) Reinstall /get latest DX distribution - august 2007 being latest on microsoft site last I looked. Seen it fix games before.
2) Reinstall your graphics card driver - go into safe and remove old one first. Maybe more uptodate driver fixing some issue that eve hit, but always worth a shot.
3) Real long shot but seem weirder - disable sound.
You mention reinstalling eve - did you reinstall again or completely remove eve beofre reinstalling such as the logs directories/cache etc. Try installing in seperate directory/user upon XP. Seperate user be way to sort log storing clash's. Nothing to lose and dont need an active account to get splash screen.
Early days of eve I uses to switch from ATI based system one patch and over to Nvidia the next as one would work/bestable one patch and the next patch it wasn;t but the other was.
TBH there are two types of bugs and I'm sure CCP are aware that a bug that prevents play is in need of more love than a bug that hinders it slightly.
I can live without sound, sort this chaps issue first as although it aint my problem, he does seem to be loosing more blood by far :(.

First try deleting the logs and cache and settings. Logs are found in My Documents. Cache and settings are both in the user's Application Data.

How do I disable sound? Since i have a "splash/crash" bug? I don't know where to look in the EVE directory. If anybody knows, that would be nice! I don't really need sound anyway, even though it would be to nice to have but not necessary.

As I have a draftsman in the head of my "builder" jumpclone I am very interested to a reply for this query.

I have a problem that I have not seen reading the first several pages of this forum. Since the new release, I cannot make any ship active.
It seems like the standard answer to every problem is to reinstall the client. I tried that and it still does not fix my problem. I get no error messages I just cannot make any ship active or unpackage a ship. Unfortunately I left my retriever thinking I might then be able to make another ship active. Now I am sitting in my pod in HQ.
I reinstalled the client, I deleted my bin directory and installed the patch for the problem of duplicate bin files though I did not get any message I had any. Still no help.
Taking the several hours to download and reinstall the client does not seem to help anyone. I tried it twice. (obsessive compulsive.

I am also getting a sound and graphic bug. After a ship explodes, I get the sound as normal but then it repeats once. basically the same with most sounds...warping out, jet can pop, explosions, NOS etc....The graphic issue, is when I jump through a gate...when I come out on the other side, before the cloak, a brief image of the map appears. I tried changing my sound settings on game as well my pc but nothing works.
Others have reported the same issue. I have filled out a bug report on this issue.

We have a candidate solution up and running now, but I can't give any firm estimates on when it will appear on TQ at this time. I know this is frustrating, but that's the state of things at the moment.

Just did some scanning and found out:
If you scan for anomalies with a multispec it shows also unknown signatures!!!
I ran a scan with the multi selecting only anomalies while i was sitting in an old nearly mined out hidden belt. When the scan was finished i got as result a gravimetric site. since there are no mining encounters i suppose it picked up the hidden belt i was sitting in.

Some ETA on this sound problems solution? We have threads in "Know issues and workarounds" that are 9 months old, 300+ posts, no Dev post out there, only sticked, about sound issues and how bad is playing a silent game.

Should be "[ProfileDirectory]\Local Settings\Application Data\CCP\EVE\settings\prefs.ini". The [ProfileDirectory] will be something like "C:\Documents and Settings\[ProfileName]" on WinXP.

Havent read through 15+ pages of this so maybe its covered. didnt see it in search.
Recently switched corps from Cald Navy to Lai Dai and my lvl2 agent gave me Recon 1 of 3
now this is a lvl 2 right?
10 Dire Pith cruisers in a lvl2? i had to get my BC and still took a while.

The low price of war dec means corps can dec smaller corps forever, and never spend much isk. War dec cost should go up every week, or cost more to begin with.  Smaller corps don't stand a chance now if theres someone with a vendetta. This needs to be fixed asap.

The patch installation didn't finish. It stopped after the extracting step.
I tried the automatic updating with the game and the manuel. Always the same problem.
For the last patch, I installed the complete build and it worked. But I don't want to do this every time (just for 1.5 Mo ^^)
What would be the probleme?
Is there any search mode in this forum?
