This problem isnt isp problem but CCP and eve server. Few days ago i reactivate my second account and I would like see if i get disconnected from eve server by isp or by eve. After few days of test Im sure that is a CCP problem and they really dont know what to do. My 2 accounts ran at the same time in the same system (mining gang). My 2 accounts geting disconnect from server in random times never in the same time. If I will be disconnected from server with 2 accounts all the time in the same second i can blame ISP but when my 2 account what are in the same solar getting disconected in other times that isnt isp problem. I cant join fleet with 1 of account beacause it getting disconnected just after reconnect (in emergency warp), then it going stable and all f.. start with my main account. DEVES GET YOUR ASS and resolve this problem. They add new expansions but cant resolve old problems before trinity. My problems start after last patch before trinity. Early by almost 4 yeears of gametime i havent that problem. THat all is sucks. Im sure they broke and they dont know where they broke game. Start clean your mess CPP and stop show awards for game when it isnt playable for old and new customers. I cant even mining (not thinking about missions or join an alliance in 0.0) beacause i cant play game and not worrying that i will be disconected in mission or in fleet fights. Only mining with 100 disconetion every day is really really anoing.

after i joined 5 or 5 biggest chat channels in game / with 2k people in them / i have no dc and game is stable as earlier it means DC is caused by server
i can;t say it is solution but .... it is a proof that CCP has fault on its side too i don;t bother with another petition - waste of time

I do the same: joined 6 the biggest chat in game and my disconnection problem get out by last 1.5 hour (early cant play that long without disconnect). looks like 1200 peoples in few chat keep my eve live without disconnection. Sad what way going CCP. Few petitions bug reports are keep without any constructives answers. They blame isp lol all the time but now im sure it isnt isp problem beacause 6 chats with 1200 peoples in it keep my eve out of disconnecting problems. Thx Sneer Quen for that help.

26 pages and still no answer? This is stupid, stop pretending that there is no problem.
People from all arround Europe using various ISP getting disconnected ONLY from Eve cannot be a coincidence. I do not lose my connection to internet, do not get disconnected from any other games or anything. It started happening like 20 days ago.
At least reply to a thread or make one of your own and tell us what is going on or admit that you have no idea what is going on and try to find out and fix it. |

you will have to wait for 10,000 more people, they do not look at problems that hurts 0.1% of the people, this will go on for months more before something is done.

This is ridiculous. I am having the same issues. I cannot even really connect to the servers during the day. I get the status of Tranquility as unknown but usually late at night I can stay on for an hour or two. This is very ridiculous. I have contacted my ISP and made sure they have no ports blocked.
I am on satellite internet, but played eve before on it, and was able to play WoW on it. I'd really appreciate it if CCP would get this fixed, probably the most annoying thing that could happen.

I am also experiencing this problem. I ran the IP tracer program that they suggested and found that I'm getting massive packet loss from one hop. US ISP (Roadrunner) which I've never had a problem with until a few days ago. Now I can't even really play. When I do manage to connect it's like being in a fleet battle, even when there's no one in system.
Usually can only play for 5 minutes or so before being disconnected.
Called Time Warner and they swear that everything with their infrastructure is fine and that it must be the game. Who knows. I sent in my logs from the IP trace and hopefully they'll tell me some way to fix it.

Dunno if this is really useful, but i have realized that when i get disconnected, also my lan connection is loss (wireless)and then the bubble telling me local area is now connected appears again. Open a channel with activity keeps conexion... Maybe a eve client issue, cos before enter eve, i was using ie with no problem at all. hope this can help. Xenos, Malleus,....Hereticus!!! |

Hello, i have the same problem with connection lost (connecting from poland) but a little difefrent one. After some tries (about 7-14) the game manages to establish a good connection. I must say I'm prety dissapointed since I'm on a 14 day trial version and I intended to pay for full version soon. Now I don't know anymore if that is souch a good idea - I realy like the game. I tried changing the port to 3724 but in annother way. I changed to networkAdvanced=0 to 1 but that did not result in having any port selection at loggin window. Instead I changed the port information in the "prefs.ini" file. I don't know if that worked but nothing changed, I still lose the connection.

my provider is UPC Chello and i just found an official statement from local Chello (part of the UPC company) spokesman, that UPC/Chello started to do "soft shaping" in the last months because of P2P networks. I have also found Enemy Territory: Quake Wars users complaining about sudden drop in connectivity on UPC/Chello networks in the last weeks. I have also seen somebody claming, that the Counter Strike Source has got connection problems too.
For me, it looks like UPC is trying to regulate P2P traffic with semi-random packet loss and connection shaping, which affects online games too.
the connection seems to start to be stable at about 0:00 GMT (+/- 2h) and it's allready unstable in the morning (cca 10:00 GMT). this situation repeats in the last weeks.
when i run pingplotter, i see a high packet loss, sometimes up to 30%, on the local UPC - Chello network (*.aorta.net, *chello.* *.upc.*).
for more detail, i have created a printscreen (sorry for the image size, but the packet loss percentage was badly visible on a smaller picture):

Good to you see u onboard Depko,
As one of the first to be affected by this problem and i am the elected mayor of New Crashville City, BTW...
Only thing we can do is leave UPC/NTL and then after tons of people leave, we have a chance.

The number of users having deadly connection problems because of their ISP using packet shaping is already alarming and it will probably become more and more widespread soon. Many of us bypass this issue by employing encryption of the eve TCP packets and thus smuggling them outside our traffic-control-happy ISP networks. Traffic shaping processes just dont recognize encrypted communication as "evil" so the packets are not discarded or delayed.
I think its not a problem for CCP to use the encryption for EVE network communication by default, so this solution should be implemented soon.

well wont be able to read it ontil later tonight... actually it depends if i will be able to stay connected long enough to read it at all
another thing that could be a clue is im using a cable connection, my roomate ADSL!
which could mean its a cable based problem! because if i connect my pc to my roomates ADSL i have no problems, as soon as i use my cable based ISP my conn. dies every 2-3 minutes. cant really say when the problem started though, it was like an on/off thing. but since one week now i wasnt able to stay connected for more then 5 minutes as said before...

One important thing is: is everything else working flawlessly? If you download something long, and it takes more than 2-3 minutes, is download interrupted midway?

Oh well, then here I go with the spam again: http://eve.75.pl/ - you could also look for http-tunnel, which is free, but limited bw, so slower :)
Can you use IRC?

I hope this will help. If this is not related with the disconnection problems you're reporting in this topic than I'll open a new one..
First statement: with my main account I've never experienced a single disconnection (since I've reactivated, about 3 months ago)
Second statement: I have opened a second account and created a dedicated second installation of eve just yesterday. This is the first time I try to run both account simultaneously on my PC. Guess what? I started to have connection problems.
The "funny" thing is that only one account get disconnected (randomly) while the other keeps running. I'm still testing, but seems that disabling sound (and HW acceleration) on both clients keeps the connection on. (I've a creative audigy 2)

if ccp dont think it's their servers causing the problem, well i believe their servers are in london so maybe if anyone who knew enough about this kinda of thing and was in the area could ask to get in and have a look? maybe people who actually care could find a problem people who think that we dont matter cant? if that makes sense... anyway, if anyone was in the area maybe you could ask ccp if u could go in...i could be the actual way to finding these problems, alternatively, as these bugs are only after trinity, maybe ccp should scrap their servers, buy some decent ones and make everyone go back to the revelations 2.9 patch? that way we could all play and then they could try building a GOOD version of a bug free trinity? --------------signature------------------------ Those who show profit will pull through in the end. im gettin also slowly sick of getting randomly disconnections... losing t2 drones or ships sucks hard...
if i had 2 clients, one got disconnected the other not... if im using one, the one gets disconncted and i dont know why, cause if im downloading a big file which takes 3-4h the download is fine...

I'm online easily from DT to DT (unless some seriuos network problem occurs between my network and CCP). CCP could have done a lot more to make the protocol and connection more robust if they wanted, but there's essentially nothing wrong if you are getting good stable connection without NAT and other magic involved.

Hi
I'm connected via DSL in Germany and experienced the same random connection losses, but found another rather simple solution... listening to internet radio.
Since two days i keep vlc player running in the background with some low-bw radio channel and the eve-soundtrack muted and it works perfectly without a single connection loss, whereas i could hardly stay connected long enough to switch skills before.

just like to pipe in that I'm also getting problems, but only with wireless connections.
I've used several different connections including the same one with wired and wireless. I get regular disconnects (often sub 5 mins) with wireless.
'Twitching' (making sure the feed is active) seems to be effective at increasing the duration of the connection
