I've upgraded a few BPOs and it'd be nice to be able to track my investments.
Along the same vein, I read in an earlier post that the next update will include tracking BPO baking automatically. Will this feature also automatically adjust the value of the BPO in question?
Well, there are a few issues with pricing of blueprints automatically, such as the API does not include install fees or hourly costs, then you cant do transactions with them. The best I can do is show you how often/long it has been researched.

Wondering if the problem with manual pricing has been fixed yet. If so, how do I manually edit the prices of items to reflect even after the app is restarted?

Feature request for next version, I would love it if the calendar date ranges for finances would keep their range on data refresh, additionally if the grid could hold its sort order, or perhaps optionally allow for a config setting for default sorting.

Salvis. I TOTALLY love your program!
Minor foibles but I am sure that I will be able to get past those...
I pulled up the Cerberus Blueprint, and some of the needed materials come up with a cost of 8000 isk. I did the data entry and changed the prices on that page to reflect the actual cost from the Game Market, and clicked "Set Cost", and the next time I look at the blueprint, the costs are back to the 8000 isk. Even the Caracal has a cost of 0.00 isk!
So I went looking to find the place where I change the cost of those items and, well maybe my blonde roots are showing, but I can't seem to find a way to set the costs to what "I" say they are.
Also when I click on all blueprints when first starting to enter data on the blueprint I am working with it will lose track and dump the data I have just entered!
Problem #2, my Standing and good/bad discount always have to be entered. These are some things that do not change often, so it would be nice if they stayed in place, with the ability somewhere to change them as required (most people working for many different corps have different Status with each...).
Maybe some kind of save feature?
When I open the program, I have to re-select the character that is #2 in the list, every time. then I have to left arrow click to hide the pictures. I know minor annoyance but is there a way to tell the program to keep my selections permanently the way that I want them? Ok, that is just me whining, but I have seen my toons, and I KNOW that I am cute! I don't need to see them every time I open the program...
Thanks again for a GREAT program!

It doesn't sho up under the loaded plugins either. Anything I do wrong here?

Hello everybody !
Salvis i'm sorry to ask the same question again but you never answered me.
I asked you why you didn't put a "save" option for the Inventory? I had to reformat my computer and i didn't have time to save any documents i had on my C: part and even if Eve MEEP is still on the orther part of my hard drive, everything has been erased. I have to make it again but i want to be sure that this won't happen again.
Any informations?

Aaspa: I am very sorry if I forgot to reply to you. Assets and all other information is saved either on program exit and after they are updated from the API. These files can be found in the 'EveMEEP/Resources/Profiles/<profile name>/<character name>' folder. So, to make backing up data easy just save a copy of the Entire 'Profiles' folder, and if you ever have this problem again simple put the back-up profiles folder into the resources folder and all will be well.
Ellana Githrael: Turns out that the Set Cost thing is bugged or something cause it works for me only like 50% of the time... To work around this go to Tools>Prices>Edit Prices and there you have direct access to editing everything price related. I will see what I can do about standing saving, and I can most likely do the default character.
Brut4l: Delete the plugin from the plugins folder and try re-downloading it. If that doesnt work, go to the website's download page and you can get it manually.
TenthReality: Calendar date range has been added, and I am trying to figure out how to save and load the data grid columns. ------

A couple feature requests.
In the multicomponent Calculator could you make it so the production time calculation currently shown in minutes, automatically adjusts to display the # of Days or Weeks for product runs that exceed 60 minutes?
Maybe even make it so if you click the text label for the production time it flips through the minutes, days, and week calculations if people still want to be able to reference it with a smaller number.
For the efficiency calculator, will PE support be added? Not looking for anything too fancy ATM, but a cost calculator to combine with ME would be nice.
Other than that great app, only occasional problems I have with it are figures not always updating after I enter data in a field and click elsewhere, sometimes I have to reload a BPO selection or restart the app to fix that.

Salvis, thanks for looking into my feature request. A few other things I have noticed. The "profit to date" label lacks any kinda of identifier for what that # means. I had to grab the source and see what you named the label to realize that was profit to date.
Finances seems unaware if income coming from contracts. It does not get listed on the "other" tab and just appears as magical ISK.
Meep itself is generally graphics light, some people might want to run it at work, however the use of character icons on the left makes that a bit hard. Remove those however and it looks like any other normal office data entry application. Perhaps an option to run in "stealth" mode which hides graphics or swaps them out for just text labels?
I leave meep running generally 24/7, a minimize to tray option would be excellent, perhaps launching sections/plugins via the tray and extending the API to allow plugins to hook into a try context menu?
The Finances grids seem to contain data that is generally not normally usefull such as TransactionID, TypeID, First Owner ID, ArgumentName, etc. Perhaps an option to select visible grid columns?

Currently there is no way for meep to know about contracts unless you manually set it yourself (there is no API). So for that reason, very little information about them is picked up.
There is an option to hide images already, and you can find it under the preferences window.
The tray icon thing isnt a bad idea. Ill have to look into that further and see just what I can do with that.
And finally, I hope that when I find a way to save and load the column settings for finances I can tie in selecting and renaming columns. ------

Hrm, I have toggled that checkbox many times and have noticed no changes to iconing, they both still appear in my character list on the left as well as when bringing up details about products. Something going wrong for me or will those icons continue to show through? I honestly just thought it wasn't really hooked up yet, but it might be me.
As for grid columns, since you know their string names, you could store them in one of the various XML files, then when loading the grid programatically add them to datagrid.Columns as a BoundColumn or any of the other various column types. For selecting them, something like a checked list build of the Columns in the dataset itself.

Quote: Originally by: Akihito Karasu -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Edited by: Akihito Karasu on 16/10/2007 22:56:22 In the MultiComponent Calc, the cost of minerals is the value set in Tools - Preferences - Market Logs. However, the Buy price can only be one of the buy price types. The problem with this is that the Buy Price is actually a price at which someone has offered to buy the mineral, often at a much lower level than the average price at this the mineral is selling. Therefore the cost of production calculated by the MultiComponent Calc is wildly out of synch with any real world cost of production.
A much more helpful value would be the average price at which the mineral is currently selling. Given that this value is not computed, I would suggest the Mean Sell Price. This would give a far more accurate estimate of the Cost of Production and enable us to contine to use the Market Logs.
For example, in Heimatar Isogen prices are: 48.43 - Mean Buy Price, price used by MultiComponent Calc 69.18 - Mean Sell Price 66.00 - Current Average Sell Price
As you can see values computed using the Mean Buy Price will be about 30% lower than the real cost of buying the minerals at the price at which they are actually being bought and sold. Relying on the cost of production calculated by EVE MEEP would result in some horrible surprises. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am open to changing this, but let me make sure I have your argument correct. Buy prices are often far lower than the sell price for the market, meaning that if you were to go buy minerals from the market, you wont get them at the mean buy price but instead at the lowest(or mean) sell price. Therefore the calculator should instead use the sell price for minerals. Do you have any math for prices beyond what I use now that might be better?
------
I believe you understand my idea correctly. The Market Data/Sellers & Buyers prices that EVE lets you save are not actually a record of market sells and buys, but rather the offers to sell or buy made by players. The Buy prices are often very optimistic offers to relieve players of items at huge discounts on their true market value. The actual record of market activity is under the tab Price History, which reports daily item volume sold as well as high, low and average prices of items sold.
As a manufactor I'm interested in the relationship between cost of production and selling price. The average price for which minerals and components sell are the value that helps me understand if I am selling items (whose minerals I may have mined) at a profit or a loss.
As far as I know, the Price History informatin is not exportable out of EVE. However, the Mean Sell price appears to be quite close to the Average Selling price and could be used quite successfully. A minor improvement on the Mean Sell price would be if it were possible to clip off the highest two or three sell offers to eliminate the occasional 'newbie trap' price where someone offers one unit of morphite for 9,500,000 vs. 9,500. Not sure it this is even possible, but it would clean up the Mean Sell price.
I think the above is clear. Modifying the MultiComponent Calc to better reflect cost of the resources would be very very helpful.
Any chance in getting this implemented? As an inventor I'm concerned with the additional value that invention adds to goods, so using mean sell price as a starting point is much more valuable than high buy or mean buy. The difference between the buy orders & sell orders has nothing to do with invention & everything to do with trading.
Maybe it would be possible to add options within the multi-component calculator (and invention calculator) regarding which prices to use.
Still an awesome tool! Thanks.

one more thing: Although the multicomponent calc works great for negative ME, inputting a negative PE gives an incorrect value for production time. No biggie though.

I've been using EVEMEEP for the past few days and it seems very useful. I've got one problem with it though. It will never update my transaction log more than once. I gave it a full EVE key and the first time I sign on everything works fine. But if I start the program again a few hours later it fails getting the transaction log. It gives me the same error message as if I'm trying to download it again too soon.
The only way to get it to download new transactions is to delete the character from EVEMEEP and let do it again from scratch.
Does anyone have any idea how I can fix this?

Hi, First a thank you for the great tool! :)
I have noticed one thing: The Waste Factors for the T2 Components seem to be wrong at the moment. The material-waste is not added to the number of materials needed. When i type in 1000 items, it says just the basic materialsx1000. There should be a few percent added to the materials due to waste.

HELP!!! Math skills failing!!!
Under the Invention tab, I see prices at the bottom right side of the screen.
I understand Material Cost Per Try, aka what it costs to go out buy the stuff you need to try that one try of invention.
I understand Station Fee as the station charges a fee based on the time you are using their resources to create your BPC.
I don't quite understand Cost Per Success, Profit From Blueprint, nor Cost Per Result Run...
Sort of... Example numbers below are way off, and are just numbers pulled out of my hat...
It costs me 5 mill for Materials Cost and 1.5 mill for Station Costs, then my Cost Per Success is 25 mill, the same as my Profit For Blueprint is, and my Cost Per Result Run is about 2.1 mill.
With 12 runs for the new BPC, my 25 mill Cost Per Success divided by the 12 runs, is about 2.1 mill each individual module or ship I build per run of the BPC.
So I have to add the 2.1 mill Cost Per Result Run to the build cost when I build the T2 item. I think?
Were I to sell the BPC, I would need to make 25 mill + a profit factor to make a profit. (this seems to make sense)
But if it costs me 6.5 mill to make the BPC, where does that 25 mill isk figure come in? So how do I figure out that Cost Per Success? What is that, and how is that calculated? I can't seem to figure out what costs are factored in to get that number... I have looked in a bunch of the forums posts, and web pages, and still am unsure...
Thoughts?

Hi!
I see a mistake in MCC version 1.2.3.0 which i DL from EVE-MEEP site.
If value of mineral to produce 1 unit of anything equal 1 or 2, MCC set wrong value of needed mineral if i change "Amount of runs", simply multiplying 1 or 2 to "Amount of runs" without correcting value with Production Efficiency skill.
Maybe i`m the 100th who post this question, sorry if it takes place.

I'm sure I must be not setting something correctly, but using the MultiComponent Calculator the amount of materials needed for the BP are wrong. Close, not in agreement with what EVE actually requires to use the BP. This makes it impossible to use EVE MEEP to estimate profitability. :(
1) Could I have something set incorrectly? 2) Can I manually edit the BP requirements?

Edited by: Akihito Karasu on 26/01/2008 19:55:06 BUG REPORT
Just ran through a series of checks to see why the values for the cost of minerals shown in the MultiComponent Calc were constantly not in sync with the values of the minerals as reported within Tools/Prices/Edit Prices.
The prices reported in Tools/Prices/Edit Prices for minerals seems in agreement with the values from the saved MarketLog.
The prices used in the MultiComponent Calc agree with these prices ONLY if you are choosing to use the Buy Price option, the default.
It seems odd this would be the default as the relevant price for determining the profitability of manufacturing an item is the lowest price at which one can purchase the needed materials (Sell-Low), not the price someone wishes he could purchase them for(all the Buy values).
Using the Buy values setting in the MultiComponent Calc changing your preferred price type in the Tools/Preferences/MarketLogs/Prices Menu from to the types Mean, Median, Low, High result in appropriate changes to the price value in the MultiComponent Calc.
However, if you choose to select the Use Sell Prices option in the MultiComponent Calc the only price value used is the Sell-Mean value. I changed the price type in the Tools/Preferences/MarketLogs/Prices Menu to all the other price types and the value reported to the MultiComponent Calc remained unchanged, although there was a wide range of values report for the mineral.
This is quite a pita as the most, only?, reliant price for this purpose is the cheapest price (Sell-Low) for which you can buy the relevant mineral in determining if manufacturing a particular blueprint would be profitable.
I suspect there is just a simple goof in the code as the Buy values report correctly.
PLEASE fix the Sell values ASAP!!!!!

First off, I like the program and use it often.
I have a few bug reports: Clean install of evemeep 2.3.3.0
#1 - update broken Check for updates button does nothing. Download updates returns ERROR! for all modules
#2 - inventory broken I cannot adjust amounts, when clicking the button I get an error (and NO i will not post the details here, as I do not want that to run the risk of missing a peice of sensitive information like my windows username in a path somewhere)
#3 - Accept bill broken Returns an exeption as well.
In fact, there are so many instances where the program returns exeptions that I could post 10 pages of them. This leads me to beleive that the program itself vs. my computer is in error.
XP home ed. fully patched/updated Latest .NET framework w. all updates Program is located in My Documents/EVEMeep Running AVG antivirus Windows Firewall (plus hardware firewall in router)
I like EVEMeep, but missing 90% of the functionality makes it more work than it's worth TBH.
