Paranoic: what operating system are you running / firefox build? because this is getting irritating (and the only reason I don't use it constantly).
WinXP Pro SP2
Firefox 2.0.0.9
update: Tried again w/o browser running, or eve-mon, and received the journal error. I have no freaking idea whats going on :\
Send me an email and I will send you an updated client with more verbose bug handling, and logging of every step of the process. This way we can find out exactly where the problem is occuring, and hopefully then find out why. ------

I'm getting the Expected [blah] but supplied [0] error again. EveMEEP hasn't managed to down the transactions since 14/11/07.
I have noticed that having EveMon running seems to cause this problem but I closed it 4 hours ago and I still can't download the wallet

Probably said before but I'll say it again. People like Salvis who build us tools to help our game experience (especially fantastic tools like Eve-MEEP) are sheer gold. I would like to eoncourage you to donate some ISK to Salvis to let him know that we appreciate all the time, effort, blood, sweat and tears the he puts in.
Donating ISK not only makes you feel all warm and fuzzy for having done something nice, it also passes that warm feeling to Salvis. A warm, happy Salvis is someone more likely to get round to making that change and updating his tool for the next big release quickly. So yeah, give him some ISK luvin and let him know we appreciate him

So, heres a little status update. First of all, you have no idea how thankful I am to everyone. Within 5 minutes of the post about the website, probably 6 people offered to host me. I cannot thank all of you enough. I was stressed out, then found out the site got hacked and no one knows how. Anyways, it was wonderful so many people offered to help. Hosting is being provided by Ix Forres (IskSense/Eve-Metrics) and should be up soon(tm).
The 2 urgent items on my todo list: Mining calculator, and figure out the journal bug. Mining calculator is comming along slowly (ship fitter works, mining part kinda works, ice doesnt yet, still need to add gang bonuses). The journal bug is still there after numerous attempts to fix it, and I have submitted the issue to ccp to check if its on their end just to eliminate that possibility. Oh you can also now view finances over a range of dates.
Thanks again for the support and patience! ------

Reliable is difficult to define and is best done individually, i.e. put in prices that you regularly use manually. In lieu of that, use the "edit prices" function which downloads the eve-central weighted average prices. Personally, I use the eve-central pricing fed into a spreadsheet where I manipulate them based on my personal buy orders and "likely" buy prices (no, I'm not giving out my formulas for that).
In short, meep calculates great but the output is only as smart as the input.

I've been looking at this problem trying to generate a workaround personally and while I'm not a programmer, I do keep up on technical issues with regard to the tools you are using such as they impact me. From my end, Vista, it looks like you are having a problem with "Creator/Owner" rights with regard to the program creating/updating existing files. I assume that you've seen these two URLs but if you haven't perhaps these may give you a hint of how to work around.

I'm hoping these make it through the filter but if not, convo me ingame and I'll link them for you.

Hi
I hope that the Evemeep will return soon. I miss out on trying the downloads, and my old version is missing so would like the new shiny one updating....
Good luck Salvis and thanks for all the work and I wish I could help apart from isk but not a programmer.

I really enjoy EvE-MEEP, and I hope you get things settled with the hosting easily.
I am sorry if this has been reported, but I have been having issues with character profiles becoming corrupt -- portraits stop showing, and then character names and SP also stop. I don't think it affects the calculations of any of the data, but it is bothersome :)...
As far as I have noticed, the fix is just to create a new profile of the same character, but that gets bothersome as well... I have tried looking through the source, but I only have minimal experience with C and C++... C# is confusing :P!
Also (I am not sure if I have said this before in an eve mail or some such) it would be nice if values on the inventory tab (and possibly other tabs) showed the floating part of the ISK amounts... It took me a while to see how my items were at a value of 0 ISK each and worth much more as a total... Then I realised that it was a buy order for .01 ISK/ea, and shows up as 0 ISK.
Whether these issues are addressable or not, I appreciate the program as it is and it is certainly useful without fixing these things :)...
(Also: Expected before RefID [] but supplied [0]! Grr! WinXP here.) |

Heh, I was still copying those files over, should work now.
So, with trinity comming out there are quite a few changes to the API. Character sheet downloading has been changed from hourly to daily, we are getting the Assets API along with a Science and Industry API (basically whenever you start a job or something eve-meep can get that data, and the last 300 jobs you have done). Exciting times ahead! ------

Options are optional, those who don't like it don't have to turn it on.
The question is whether you feel it would be worthwhile. Personally I'm a little unsure about it, if these sites were to get oodles of data then every muppet in the cluster would be able to find out what to trade or manufacture for high profit with a few clicks. Meaning a lot of folks would invest ISK in them just to see them dry up and profit margins at the high end would shrink considerably.
Perhaps a market comparison tool would be more practical allowing traders to upload their own logs (and those of their friends) to find the best trades and manufacturers to scout out good sales locations for their goods and purchase locations for their components. Integrating it with the other features of EVE-Meep would make it a very powerful tool for quickly checking profit margins on goods you can manufacture and such provided the player has up to date market data. -------- EVE Trinity: THE SKY IS FALLING! |

How would you all feel if I wrote in the option to upload your market logs to websites such as eve-central or Eve-Metrics? Voluntarily of course, and with strictly the information you feel comfortable giving, but these sites only operate off of what is given to them, and the more people helping out the more accurate they become.
Since I use the eve-central site, and not the newer one, my opinion is that it would be better to tie into the exported market logs, if any, and leave the edit price eve-central (3rd party web site) option as it is. Invariably, I end up having to upload market logs to get any kind of accurate information onto eve-central and so a tie into there would only tie your application's base pricing to that incomplete picture. It would be more of use, and would reward the player that goes to this level of involvment directly, rather than indirectly.
Barring that, the full set of eve-central prices in the boxes could be helpful. Right now, there are two, buy-mean and sell-mean, which honestly aren't very helpful in accurate estimation, for me. Perhaps a radio button for each price point (and all the prices listed) where the player can choose which of the prices are the ones most likely to be used by him.
As for which service to use, I'd make that a drop down unless you are finding the uploaded logs more accurate and timely on the newer service than I'm finding them to be on the older service.
As for the muppet argument, never underestimate the power of laziness in recreational markets. Some just can't be asked to play the market game.
Besides, if all the players actually had the full realm of info at their disposal as to the actual "worth" of their assets (in all the ways it could be considered), perhaps they'd then make more intelligent choices about selling/buying and it might raise the low end instead. We honestly don't know as we don't have the full range of information available.

Well the process I am considering is that users are presented with a range of websites that use market logs (such as the two I mentioned) and users just check off what sites they want to help out. This way you can give the logs to all the websites, or just a select few. Then, after the program does its own math using the log file (ie, the process that it already does) it sends that data off to all the sites you have selected.
As for only getting only mean prices from eve-central, thats all the data I can get from them, and also where my interest in other sites like eve-metrics comes in. If I can work with the developer to get more access and better data, I am going to pursue the idea. ------
