This can be changed in the Preferences window, along with what region to get prices from. The only problem with setting it to low or whatever, is that if you update prices from eve-central it only returns the mean price. Transaction data sets low/high prices, and getting price data from a market log returns all the types.
I actually never noticed that menu, but still, my point remains. you grab the price from the BUY side when checking prices, where you should grab them from the sell side. At least i think that it would make more sense, to take the price for items you want to buy to produce somethin, from the selling side of the market.
Of course i might be completly mistaken here. also, meep just crashed when i selected 'Production cost' in both boxes, and wont start again :)

Why would you do such a thing?!?! Just kidding, you actually found an infinite loop, Thanks! To fix your end, just search your local settings folder for meep's config.xml file and delete it. Your character data will be saved, but preferences will be reset, fixing the problem. ------

I think I am confused about how to set mineral prices. I noticed that eve-central was a little off so I exported my own copies and then compiled them. I could not figure out how to make eve-meep ignore the downloaded values.

I have found a work around for the wallet 'refreshing' issue.
Delete/Rename the Journal.xml and Transactions.xml files in your character profile directory. --

I have a small problem with the MultiComponent Calculator:
When 'Connect To The Internet' in Tools/Preferences/General is checked, both blueprint dropdown boxes are reset to default ('Select Source of Blueprints' and an empty box) exactly once a minute. Kind of annoying actually when you're fiddeling around with prices and all of a sudden changes won't affect the productions costs anymore When 'Connect To The Internet' is not checked, the dropdown boxes work (not reseting).

Features Request:
Blueprint Calculator
1) Copy Calculator: shows the cost of the BPC
2) ME / PL calculator: Shows the cost of researching a specific ME and PE (from either POS or station) as well as shows the Wastage Factor of the blueprint
3) ME / PL cost should be included in the "Blueprint cost"
Bugs:
Still having the "Not downloading daily profits" every so often. It shows for a couple days, then off, then on, its odd. No logs for this are being generated.
Maybe the EVE API is having issues with downloading from EVE-Mon and Eve-Meep? Possibly? Dunno.

Shairdun: I agree 100% on the annoyance of the flicker. Apparently I was running it with no internet and didn't see. I am going to fix it with more detailed event arguments, so hopefully it'll only reset every hour when it actually updates the characters. I also took care of that bill error.
Feng Schui: I just finished a BP efficiency calc which will be released in a day or so, which has everything but the copy functions you requested. I'm gonna try a few things for the api bug and we will see if anything helps, but its a strange error.
I decided to use a free graphing library instead of writing my own, but this means I have to distribute it through the Updater which it currently cant do. SO what will have to happen is you update the host, then it will be able to grab the graphing library. This will enable me to add pretty graphs to just about everything, but the graphs themselves cant be included for the next version. ------

One a side note, is it possible to be able to print off the graphs / spreadsheets / orders / etc for hard copies?

Eve-Meep is the first tool I run for whenever I do any production work, it's the best. The new version is terrific, but, I still have to dig out the old version because it has my favorite plugin- the mining Calc!

How exactly does the inventory list collect data? Because the list in EVE-MEEP is wildly out of sync with what I actuall have. From the inconsistencies it looks like the inventory list is collated from buy and sell histories, so it isn't reflecting items blown up or acquired other ways. Is this just a limit of the EVE API? Or can I get it to accurately reflect my hangar contents? |

mongo, You are right. It is just watching your buy/sell orders. The API does not provide hanger information. Hopefully that will be in a future enhancement. But that would be a LOT of data!

Uhm, there is no config.xml anywhere on my pc. I deleted the resources dir, after moving the profiles to another place, started meep, copied profiles back, and it starts, but seems to have crashed when trying to get char data.

Wow this is what I have been looking for. Nice. One question I have however is about API keys. Is this safe to use full keys? I thought Eve Mon and other programs used randomly generated partial keys for security purposes. Maybe I am wrong about this. Feedback would be great, thanks in advance.

The limited and full access API keys are generated by myeve(this website) for each character. Limited key only allows for character sheet and wallet balance, while the full key can be used to grab everything (character sheet, balance, journal entries, market transactions). For security, its what you feel comfortable with. MEEP never sends your data out to anyone, it just keeps collecting and collecting for you to use (source is available for proof). To stop MEEP from getting your data after you gave it your key, open the preferences window and where it shows your API keys, just delete them and click ok. You can even change the key entirely via the API part of this website, making the old ones obsolete and anything that uses them unable to get data anymore. ------

I put out an update to the Host, which is my latest attempt to fix the dl errors. A few tihngs were added, such as a simpler form for editing item prices, and a list of recent items you have viewed. This will also let you dl the new graphing library which will be used in the future. As for the plugins, fixing a bug in the POS calc where it saved to the wrong folder sometimes, and fixed a few threading issues with the multicomponent load eating up too many cycles. ------

Heres the thing, how secure is your server or system that you run this software on, and or your firewall? The other part about changing the full API key I understand, but I would have to change it every day to keep someone from using if your system got hacked and looted for peoples API keys. I am asking because I am assuming that I would have to update the new API key everyday I use MEEP for it to work, right? I'd love to try this program out, but a four year EVE veteran player (and friend) just told me I was nuts when I told him about it. He has had his API stolen via a third party utility like this, and had his account looted before. Just wondering if there is a way to reset the API when in use to lessen the dangers or if this is totally crazy to use this software.

You are right to be concerned, and the nature of this game is such that everyone should share your reluctance. MEEP stores all information about your API Keys, character sheets, etc. on your own computer (profiles folder). I honestly know nothing about webservers, websites, etc. (otherwise id have a much better website), and the only time the API keys are sent anywhere, is when they are actually used. These claims can be checked by anyone who wants to read the code, since this project is 100% open sourced. Your API user ID and Keys can in no way relate back to your Username and Password. If someone were to get your API keys, they could find out what characters are on your account, what you bought in the last week off the market, or how much isk you have. While this information is not any you would really want others to know, it is far from allowing them to log in to your account and steal your stuff. That has been the #1 purpose of the API program, provide information in a 'safe' (ie no username/password) manner. In the end, you use this program in the way that you want to. It is designed to work with any range of data. Give it nothing, and the calculators still function. Give it only the limited key, and it will do nothing but update your character sheet (which basically just plugs the skills into the calcs for you). There will be some things in the future that will only be useful with the full key, such as income analysis, but you will never have to use the program in any way that you dont want to. ------

Salvis, can you use this method to get price info from eve-central: http://eve-central.com/home/marketstat_xml.html?typeid=34®ionlimit=10000002
This will give you trit prices for the forge.

I see. It seems I didn't read the API Server page too well. As long as your software doesn't need access to my login and password for my account I should be OK. Thanks for the tips and advice.

Forgive my ignorance if this can already be done. I am having a hard time finding a comprehensive guide on using this program. Wanted to know if I could turn off the auto loading of skills when using the calculators. Currently if I fudge the skills the program corrects the skills to match what I actually have. The other thing I was curious about is if its possible to see transactions older than whats available. I know I have transaction history as far back as a year ago on my alt and I can only get it to show me the more recent stuff.

I just had some oddness updating. Here is what happened: 1) Start eve-meep, the dang thing is flickering on loading profile. restart. 2) Load eve-meep. everything is normal. Need to update zedmap.dll (sp) so I do. restart. 3) Load eve-meep. zedmap is updated but I have now plugins loaded. Run an update and I need to update all plugins. Do so. restart 4) Load eve-meep and everything is running normal.
Is this expected behavior?
