CCP kieron: "Trinity will be deployed before the end of the year. If someone buys me enough beer at the Fanfest, I might even narrow the deployment date down to a month."
You heard him! Everyone get your pocketbook and paypal accounts ready - We have to get 5 truckloads of beer ready :)

Please please please be adding a 25m3 drone bay to the Zealot and move the useless 5th high to a mid in this patch.

Edited by: Carsidava on 01/11/2007 02:18:20 So let me get this straight:
Revelations 3 has the codename Kali 3 but is now called Trinity. Trinity v2 is the graphics engine. Factional warfare is coming in Kali 4, which could be called Revelations 3, which currently has the codename Kali 3 but is now called Trinity.
CCP, whoever comes up with your naming system needs to lay off the drugs.
And none of these are coming in the Revelations 2.3 patch, correct? |

This update, Revelations 2.3, contains formal support for Mac OS X and Linux. It also includes a few fixes for all platforms. Stay tuned for the release notes.
What does formal support mean ... are there openGL support built in or do we have to use emulation to use the client on linux like most people are doing right now, the only difference being CCP will help sort out problems in this emulation process....?
Mmmm....

You don't get out much, do you? We'll get the patch when we get it, with whatever they've decided to include in it. No amount of stupidity is going to change it. I know your mom probably told you this when you were little, but I'll say it again: Unless you have something nice to to say, shut your mouth. Don't make me swat your butt and stand you in the corner.

Originally by: Jason Conrad I'm just hoping this means my beloved Myrmidon won't get nerfed yet this month.
That would be nice. However, I think it's likely that the removal of shield healing on drone scoop, implementation of drone bandwidth throttling on all ships, implementing a shiny new drone interface, and specifically nerfing the Eos, Myrmidon and Ishkur drone bays are all part of what he means by "drone improvements."
I hope it's just the shiny new drone interface, though.

Don't you think it means that they have created a binary for MacOS and one for linux. Since most of the EVE client is already created in python, it makes sense to do so.
Lets hope its a native client for both those OS'es :)

As far as I'm aware it's the same client just has supported wrapper around it.

Yeah, the Linux and MacOS versions are in closed-Beta right now and are using a Cedega/Cider wrapper to make it work in Linux/Mac.
I've been playing under Ubuntu via Wine now for several months and it is so nice to be Windows-free. I am looking forward to the Linux client though, I want my mini-map back.

I've been running dual EVE clients under Ubuntu Fiesty Fawn and now Ubuntu Gutsy Gibbon for quite a while. Works flawlessly, and sometimes even performs better than my Windows clients did (no more BSOD \o/ ). I'm interested in this wrapper client...I just hope it performs better than Cedega does. If not...well, I'll just stay in Cedega :D
Although the lack of SM3 goodies in Trinity expansion might convince me to dust of my XP partition and play EVE in windows again until Transgaming manages to get Cedega to support SM3.

The intention behind announcing the patch without the patch notes is to ensure the community is given advance notice. The patch notes should be published before the close of business Friday night.

No, the changes mentioned in the exploration Dev Blog will be part of the Trinity release. Tuesday's patch is primarily focused on the additional OS support and resolving some minor issues.

Rev III is the faction warfare expansion that have been delayed a until later.
Nothing new here.
Last week;
Originally by: CCP Explorer EVE Online: Revelations III (codename "Kali 3") was renamed to EVE Online: Trinity because we had to postpone factional warfare due to lack of time and resources.
So Trinity is Revelations III (not including FW). It's not been decided what the expansion containing factional warfare will be called nor if and when it will be released.
Trinity (the expansion) contains Trinity v2 (the graphics engine; v2 not II).
And that is what they are saying now too, small change in names but none in content. So I ask again, what's with you people? ---------------------------------------- A Guide to Scan Probing in Revelations |

CCP Fendahl referred to all the new ships as being in Trinity (Link here).

Hooray! Finally some love for teh linux users! Thank you, thank you, thank you.
May I humbly request you to build a Ubuntu Repository (7.10), with the Eve-client and stuff in it? And while you are at it... why not change the servers to a decent OS as well?
Well, keep the good news up, atm I am thinking of ways to send a keg of ye good ole austrian beer to iceland.

EVE is spaceships. Adding Mario Kart does nothing but take stationhugging to a new level. I can only imagine ambulation will render the simple and intuitive drag&drop market & fittings system we have now, complicated and tedious, turning it into a Hero's Quest "you must move closer to that merchant to talk" nightmare. Just like that infinizoom nuked the simple effective starmap we had before and turned it into a laggy, unreadable, innavigable and thus useless starry night screensaver, ambulation will invariably kill a functional part of EVE. EVE != GuildWars ffs.
