Then they managed keep giving us epic fights for almost 1 year. And now, our killboards are soooo overflowing it makes me feel soooo hot. We are averaging 3 fleet battles per day

BoB losing has nothing to do with numbers and everything to do with invincible titans getting nerfed. They were literally all that kept the turd that is the GBC afloat.

I think most real PVP'ers would admit that they would enjoy being able to x up in their home system, fly 2-3 jumps, and get in on a 100v100+ fleet battle 2-3x every day, even if it means you are occasionally badly outnumbered or even lose. It sure as hell beats 40+ jump roaming gangs that find 4-5 ganks in 6 hours.
It would probably suck for alliances which are 50% industrialists & hangers-on, i.e. those that had this same opportunity and crumbled in a few months/weeks....but for groups of true 100% pvp'ers like BoB, AAA, etc this must be the sort of holy grail of EvE they look for, win or lose.

was lv dying and joining bob part of the '06 bbq plan?
oh and also it's good you guys went to delve to get fights because the 9-9 <-> 77s trip was obviously way too far back when you guys held it
then again i guess most of the ex-lv guys are happy to lose space, it's pretty much all they know how to do

Something doesn't add up with that theory. You make it sound like you planned for F-T to be attacked by the whole coalition. But, if I remember correctly Molle's announcement back then, you were surprised by the coalition thinking there was a titan being built in the system, and that we decided to play lemmings on it.
That doesn't sound like it was planned at all.
Quote:
But lucky for us, what was left of the coalition managed to regroup. Then they managed to stop losing space by somehow cramming 500 people into one system...
Your offensive was stopped and you started being pushed back the week Titans got their deserved nerf. But surely those two facts aren't linked, right? ------------------------------------------

I don't think LV ever figured in BoBs plans as anything other than a target, BoB worked alongside LV to gets fights against you guys.
LV where equally accomplished at taking space and losing it, breifly removing RA from all 0.0 conquerable presence and then getting out bandwagonned and losing all of our space

I cant figure out how hiring the MC to distract/kill D2, installing pet alliances as buffers, hiring the MC again and towerspamming would help BoB, if they always wanted a good fight on their own doorstep. v v

if you want good fights come try and kill goon online larges, something bob is hilariously bad at doing, even prior to the titan nerf
but that might end up with losing a fight can't have that :((((

You did bandwagon RA, and after you got bandwagoned by RA, what a fail. And its a ****in FACT that you did same with RA (LV, -V-, CHIMP, KOS and other pet alliances, also ascn helped ya with cap fleet). So you kinda fail at this game chow. I'm frankly shocked that this whole thing comes as a surprise to anyone. I've been confessing to it at just about every Eve meet I have attended which involved consuming alcohol, which is to say every Eve meet I have attended.
What was unexpected for me was that we would still be fighting a year later against the wrong people.
The problem really came from overestimating our intended opponents. I was under the impression that were were going to go full force against ASCN, whilst insulting D2 in to attacking us from the north (by claiming that we choose to attack ASCN because D2 would have been too easy). ASCN would use its huge wealth and organisation to stall us (and they nearly did at the start), whilst D2 used it's PvP experience to charge towards Delve from the North. Unfortunately ASCN pretty much fell apart and D2 had apparently been swamped by ship builders rather than pilots. Shame really. I guess we expected D2 to have been more like Evoke are now, and things would have worked out very differently.
Anyway, yes, the plan has always been pretty much to provoke an epic Eve vs BoB struggle, as much to generate some content and interest to Eve as to actually get lots of pew-pew (although that is great too). I guess our goal would have been better achieved with different opponents (no offence to Goonswarm, but they are hardly the "epic content" I had in mind - I was thinking more Darth Vader than Jar-Jar Binks), and less lag; but they are still being achieved none the less.
With the turn of MC we may still get the Epic content, and I am keeping my fingers crossed on the Epic battles (which, it has to be said, have been much improved over recent days).
Yes, people got played - but it wasn't really a secret anyway. I'm sure many people were on to us pretty early on (in fact, I know some were, because we talked and laughed about it over drinks), I'm just shocked that so many people are having a hard time accepting that we are playing a game of internet spaceships, and trying to make it as fun and entertaining as possible. Without a bit of drama Eve would be so dull.

haha it must suck to lose to a bunch of people in t1 hulls that have a tiny cap fleet so you can't get your EPIC fights
also must suck to lose to a bunch of people who are significantly better and keep ganking your capitals with theirs so that you end up using dreads out of siege mode due to paranoia
