That is understandable, but then shouldn't you say that the deal is off, you no longer offer protection and pay back the amount you took from them for protection ? Only that would be fair... My corp joined DME a month ago and we moved back to 0.0 first thing in 2008. Right into the war-zone. Ka-Tet and RA invaded DMC/DME, what are their reasons I don't care. Since I know good deal about how DMC works I am sure they were not breaking any arrangements, unless DMC changed quite a bit in last few months, which I seriously doubt. RA changing standings overnight can mean only one thing: They simply forgot about the arrangement with DMC. Ignored it. If DMC acted hostile against RA friends this could be resolved in a different way if RA wanted that. It really doesn't matter who started first, Ka-Tet or DMC. RA could simply tell both entities to stop fighting, or they could stand aside, grab the popcorn and watch the fight. If they wanted that. Will DMC/DME watch idly and do nothing? Of course not. We are putting up a fight, we like were we live and we will fight for our home. Are we a care-bear alliance? Perhaps we are but we are still putting up a fight and we will fight until we have resources to do so. Are we going to lose this fight? Perhaps we are but we will go down proudly defending our home, outnumbered and outgunned against a much tougher enemy. That is why we stand proud, we are care-bears with guns and our morale is high, you can break our ships but you can't break our spirits. Ultimately we were hoping the continued pew would reinvigourate the alliance, you know that Funk. Instead a simple reset got turned into a greedy grab for resources, perhaps by RA, sure but I bode no ill will there. It's a measured gamble which im sure will pay off for them. It's the stupidity of both DMC and Ka-tet leaders **eing themselves at the possibility of a war that has blown this out. If it had gone on for a few weeks, and DMC looked to loose space than sure, bring in support. Same for ka-tet, duke it out, if you are getting blobbed than call in mother russia. But this war will not aid either alliance now. Chances are RA will eventually win, perhaps it will ignite a response from smashkill and the north, perhaps not. Perhaps DMC will gallently go down swinging. Regardless when the dust settles ka-tet will have now lost the last chance to maintain a geopolitical dominance of the drone region. I feel for some of you still in there, but the illusion of the alliance being anything more than a shackled pet is becoming ever more a reality. Sucks tbh. The logical step now would be for DMC to put aside prior grievances and ally with the Northern Coalition, and for the northern coalition to ally with the BoB and the Alliance. A war against RA + Southern Coalition would be much better fought on 2 fronts, the window for doing that will close. The longer the wait, the worse it gets.
