I don't really know. However, inGAME actions? Mittani can do what he likes.

However, he made his suggestion OUT OF GAME. Fanfest is not INGAME.

Two things from that.

One: Ingame rules no longer apply - he cannot be banned because he made no ingame threat or action to incite suicide or whatever.

Two: Check Icelands laws regarding inciting others to end thier own lives. It might come under assisted suicide laws.

Regardless, it was MORALLY wrong, and 'as a joke' is a **** poor excuse for that kind of comment.

I seem to recall a certain... INCIDENT that occurred concerning UAxDEATH & Co. where as a result of account sharing one naughty person stole a bunch of crap from the aforementioned bunch of people. The interesting part is that all this stole stuff was returned to UAxDEATH and no one was banned for anything. People can get their stuff back if account hax have occurred and can be conclusively proven, in which case the hacker gets banned. Account sharing, however, should have seen the banhammer come down on those who engaged in it, but it didn't. Why not? Was it not because at that point UAxDEATH was on the CSM?.. I'm sure the official version is that of course no, no favoritism, but tinfoil hat or no tinfoil hat, the facts don't change that consequences for EULA violation seem to have been... sidestepped for this individual (and Co).

So, even if CCP might clearly communicate that this kind of behavior is a no-no and draw the line here (because they can), which would be a pretty good move to quiet those who find it unacceptable and are vocal about it, there will probably be no action take against anyone. It could even be justified as something like "well, he did it before we took any kind of a stance on this issue, so it doesn't count".

I don't really care one way or another about this whole thing, perhaps moral relativism is to blame, but I'm interested to see what CCP will do. Prediction, herd all discussion into this thread, then let it fizzle out and allow this to be forgotten.

No one goes onto an online game and says they're going to kill themselves. Not seriously. The majority of people who commit suicide don't even tell those closest to them, let alone a bunch of faceless people who are more than likely to not take them seriously.

When people do this, it's a cry for attention. Which is exactly why this should never have been an issue and raised in the first place. But sadly, rational minds are few and far between now days.
