- POSes .. when will they finaly be replaced ?
- Speed nerf, how is it coming along with the rebalancing of all weapon systems ?

- Will recons be a bit toughened up so they arnt paper ships ?(in light of speed nerf)

Do you guys actually read these Blog forum questions before you do the blog?
Felt the last Dev blog had a dev unprepared to answer real questions and give SOLID responses.
Also, Are you assessing your projects time management schedules? You have promised more than I can list and the playerbase is getting restless.(Appease Us! APPEASE US!!!)
I'd recommend restructuring roles, or recruiting more people...You know like in an EVE corporation. 
Also, Customer Service/Quality Assurance/Needed Content/Non Nerf = Skill queue.

As a performance fix, have you ever considered removing all ship to ship/drone collision detection like was done with wrecks and cans ? My experience is that a large number of ship collisions that happens for instance with gang warping a group of capital ships creates massive lag and desynchs.

You don't need a Game Producer for those answers. I'm not sure an artist/producer even understands the technical details to answer those questions. How about answers from someone with 45 years of advanced programming, including databases?

Q: How exactly does EVE calculate SP gained, and how does it affect the DB?
A: The simple answer is that when you click to start a training step the server calculates a completion date/time and points. Think of that as a post-it note in the char info in the database. It's an out-of-game waiting period. It just means you won't be able to use the new skill level until after that date/time. If nothing changes your attributes there is no processing involved once the completion has been calculated and stored. If you remain offline or your account expires, obviously nothing can change your attributes, so there is still no processing. The completion date/time just waits to be discovered when you log in again. Of course you can't log in if your account has expired, until you reactivate it.
The longer version is that things can happen to "pause" training or change your attributes, thus changing the completion date/time, but only if you are online. You could get podkilled, for example, losing implants, possibly losing skills. Losing implants or Learning skills could affect your attributes. In these cases a function has to retrieve the currently training skill and recalculate the completion date/time and store it back. After that there is again no ongoing processing.
Notice I didn't mention plugging in a new implant or unplugging an existing one. That's because the recalculation function is NOT called; instead you are required to pause any training before changing implants. That's what some of us in programming would call a "programming 101 cop-out." They make you go through extra steps so they can avoid a small amount of programming to recalculate the current training.
When you pause a training step in the normal course of your char management, it results in the date/time and possibly points being removed from the "current training" variables, the current state of that step calculated, and then stored in the skill inventory for your char along with other inactive skill steps, any of which may be partial or complete.
For the nerf they had to add a call to this "pause" functionality to the char disablement at account expiration to forcibly put a currently training skill into the paused state.
When you resume a training step in the normal course of events, it results in the stored skill step being fetched from the inventory, a new completion date/time and possibly points being calculated on the basis of your current attributes, and set into the current training variables in the char info. No further processing ensues unless and until your client prompts the server to detect completion or an attribute change forces a recalculation or you pause the training step.
When you log in, the current server date/time is subtracted from the active skill completion date/time, if any, to detect a possible completed skill. If completed, you see the familiar popup advising you of the completion.
When you open the Char Sheet, your Eve client uses info retrieved from the database to construct an elaborate illusion of training as an ongoing process complete with a countdown of remaining time. The servers don't know or care anything about this, as there is no ongoing process. Only the client is involved in creating this illusion.

I've been wondering about that myself. They nerfed one of the powerful addictive aspects of Eve -- the draw to get us to reactivate lapsed accounts to enjoy training completions. Even a slight drop or delay in reactivations will cost CCP money. Any thought they may have had of forcing people to keep accounts active to train was pure fantasy.
The irony is that I have been completely aware of the almost diabolical mechanisms Eve has used to draw us in, keep us in, and keep us coming back, and I have never resented them as long as I enjoyed the game and had at least a tiny bit of respect for CCP.
But since the nerf of unsubbed training, which I had thought was an extremely clever way to draw us back in, and the manner in which they handled it, I no longer enjoy the game and have lost that last litle bit of respect for CCP. Thank you, CCP, for freeing me from that compulsive cycle of always coming back to Eve!

Are you planning on changing the tracking formula to correctly account for size vs. distance? Currently it's possible to miss a Battleship blotting out the sun, or never hit a target at '0m', because the current formula doesn't account for a closer target being larger and therefore easier to hit. --------------

Why the **** are you ignoring the vast piles of player feedback on your upcoming gameplay changes?
There is overwhelming agreement that you are doing things completely wrong. We understand (and most of us agree) that there were some problem speed setups, but the rest of the game was pretty well balanced. Why have you ignored all of the proposals for a more limited and focused nerf that would only hurt the problem ships, instead of the following list:
1) Blaster ships, especially battleships. Too slow to get in range, seriously hurt by the web nerf. 2) Missile ships. AB/MWD alone are NOT tank mods, and should not give ANY damage reduction without overdrives/nanos/etc. This is an across-the-board nerf to missile dps, even against non-speed-tanking ships of the same size class. 3) Interceptors. These are now suicide tacklers, little better than a T1 frigate for many times the cost. 4) Interdictors. As if they were not slow enough as it is, now they're really suicide. 5) Locus rigs. I guess it was just not acceptable having a useful rig besides trimarks/extenders/CCCs? Remember how nobody ever used them until you un-stacking-nerfed them? Yeah, that's what we're going back to. I suspect you wanted to nerf pulse lasers, but you've also killed off Minmatar and Gallente snipers, while doing some serious damage to the Caldari railboats. 6) Drone ships. You've said you're going to nerf medium drones, and judging by your record so far, we can only imagine how bad this is going to be...
None of these ships are a problem on TQ. Nobody has been complaining about them. So why are you nerfing them?

Personally, I just want to know that everyone at CCP is ok, in light of the current economic situation in Iceland. It must be very stressful working there at the moment. Not only do you have various projects on the go with deadlines looming, a rabid pack of ungrateful players screaming blue murder at you because they can no longer take advantage of an exploit which basically let them play for free, but you have the economy falling down around your ears. It can't be very pleasant. Let us know your ok, your are human beings and have human needs. Is there anything we can do? Can those of us coming to Fanfest bring any essentials which you can't get in Iceland (I hear Marmite is hard to come by)
I know there are lots of things that need fixed, and lots of things that need building, but if the people doing the fixing and building are getting to the point where they no longer want to do any fixing or building then its time to take a time out.
I would like to make a suggestion. Give everyone at CCP Reykjavik a month after Quantum Rise drops where they can do what they like. No deadlines, no pressure, they don't even have to come into work if they don't want to. I'd rather be paying for game made out of love than for a game made to appease the shreiking of a minority of players.
These are people trying to run a business and while some of the things they do to try and make that business a success may anger some of us, I'm sure we all agree that our world would be a poorer place without EVE in it.
To everyone at CCP: Keep it up, don't get discouraged, and good luck.

frankly anybody who has had some experience with databases could tell you that
next time look closely for the "....3....2....1....Completion imminent" message on the character sheet im only asuming, since i dont know the code behind it, this is when the client goes in and rechecks with the database on the skill status... database then goes along and checks the skill stats and reports completion if there is one thats finished to put it in terms regular nerds can understand
zero puctuation was right you know in eve there are allot of nerds who are to nerds what nerds are to normal people

MAIN Q: WILL THE SPEED REBALANCE BE INCLUDED IN THE NEXT PATCH?
Q: What will be done to compensate the Rapier for its loss in webifier power? This ship relies on its webs to be able to survive, since it has a paper tank.

Q: Why not just provide adjustments of the ships that currently reach LUDICROUS speeds in relationship to their size?

1. What steps are being taken to ensure that blaster ships remain viable in light of the upcoming speed changes?
2. Can you release any solid plans on the future of the Black Ops battleships, other than to say that they are getting a fuel bay? More jump range? Ability to jump a fair sized cloaking gang a reasonable distance, ignoring cyno jammers and to also have a useful combat role in their own right?
3. Can you please reduce the price of bombs to a level that is line with other ammunition?
4. Ships such as the Arazu were hit very hard with the nerf to sensor damps. Are there any changes planned to restore there usefulness, perhaps with a boosting of the ship bonus, or even the addition of a module similar to signal distortion amps for dampers?
5. What reason can you give for the inability of Stealth Bombers to warp cloaked? Is there any scope for this to be changed?

1) Question specially for Mindstar (but Zulupark can also answer): Why donŠt we get any transcripts of LiveDevBlogs? For the last ones, we didnŠt even get a recording! This is humiliating for all, who donŠt have time to listen to the LiveDevBlog or who donŠt know English as well to understand them.
2) Is there any chance for more open discussions with players on new game designs? Several new features (FW, Certificates, ...) could have been much more powerful, if some concepts would have been changed a bit from the beginning. But at the time, when players get to see them itŠs much too late to change any of the fundamental concepts.
3) profit/risk, specially in regards of the mission system: Currently the high-sec still has the activity, which combines one of the highest profits with a very low risk: lvl 4 missions. Till now all attempts to change this were not really succesful. In low-sec and 0.0 the best activity are still high-end moons, but they are quite rare. Nearly nothing else (except cosmos radar plexes, if they still work) has a better profit/time rate than lvl-4 missions with a much higher risk. What are your ideas to change this, or is this fine for you that highsec has all the cookies?
3a) Are there any plans to improve lowsec, like a viceroy-system to reduce the risk there?
3b) Any plans to improve 0.0? Like making a common solar-system more profitabel? Make it more difficult to hold a large area of space (multiple regions)?
4) Moving asteroid-belts to the exploration system? When?
5) Complete redesign of Sov/POS Warfare. When?
6) Complete redesign of Scanning, Local and Cloaking? When?
7) Is there any redesign of the NPC loot-system on the way? (like removing T1 items from loot...)
