Even if the patch doesnt "trigger" the lack of implants to be recognized and the times adjusted- Whats the point of podding yourself before the patch? If you do- and the patch doesnt reset the training times- they will be reset the next time your podded- prolly sooner, the next time you change a skill. If you dont pod yourself before- you lose the implants the next time your podded at which time the training times are adjusted. I dont see a lot of difference in the two above outcomes.
Anyway seems like a good patch- i hope it fixes sound. I dont really like having the sound volume linked to how far im zoomed in/out. I always fly zoomed out- How does this mean i dont want sound? dont understand that concept at all

For anyone else who wanted to know about the old cyno effects and the patch. This was about the best response I was able to get back on page 6. We'll just have to live with this one for now, unless anyone knows a dev and can take him or her out drinking <.<

Effects overhauls are ongoing by our art teams which could include the cyno effect for example. Cannot say much more than that for now sorry.

god I just love reading all the whines about you killed my eve experience, and they don't give a damn about what the players want
ccp do a great job in bringing one of the best games out there, and they bring all the latest expansions for free! remember that people, the expansions are free so quit moaning...and if you use in game currency to play as well then that makes the game totally 100% free! get a grip...

Are drone boats going to be essentially useless when going against PvP or PvE ECM ships?
Do I have to wait for a drone to be attacked before it springs into action now?
If the answers are yes then you've just nerfed something that never needed nerfing.
*edit: I thought drones were supposed to protect their controller not just themselves.
nothing is changing in reality to how you control your drones now. We are fixing a few bugs with their behaviour like previously stated where they would not respond where they should do if an NPC attacks one of the group for example.
In combination with the increase to drone scoop range, it should fix a lot of the issues with drones and your warriors will now return to drone bay instead of circling you in ignorant bliss whilst your trying to align for a warp out

Quote: FIXES
An executor corporation of an alliance will be unable to leave the alliance as long as other corporations remain as active members. For example, if Corporation A and Corporation B form an alliance and Corporation A tries to leave they will receive a message stating that the executor cannot quit while there are other members. Should Corporation B leave the alliance then Corporation A can quit the alliance and that alliance is disbanded.
Does this fix mean that when goons disbanded BoB they in fact exploited a bug in game mechanics that is being fixed in this patch?

for me it have always been wierd to se a cruiser class ship make a BS gang uterly useless at 150km...
There should be something of the line, the bigger the better.....the force recon class is wierd and i would have liked to se BS force recons instead of the cruiser ones. (not talking about combat recons only force)
The scorpion should be the nber jammer of them all, i can live with being perma jammed at range by a ship that is big enough to hold all the electrinics needed, but i have felt stupid sitting perma jammed in a abaddon where i have no chanse fighting back....all i can do is look at that small dot way way out and think oooh i love eve....
Size should matter and im glad the falcon gets under the gunz now....btw im a falcon pilot my self....

Oooh, I just saw this addition to the patch notes;
Every scan result will now get a unique ID allowing you to manage and sort scan results with greater ease. You can now filter this unique ID and ignore all other results when scanning for certain signatures.
It is now possible to bookmark a 100% signature hit remotely via right click in the context menu. In addition, the scanner will remember signatures which were scanned at 100% so that they are not lost on subsequent scans.
The range for scooping items from a wreck or container has been increased from 1500m to 2500m. In addition the scoop range for drones has also been increased to 2500m
Pure win!

It took me some time to process it. I am ECM pilot of Caldari origin. It took me some beers, meditation and comparing of results. At the end I just wanted to thank you CCP. Really. Thank you!
I was preparing to cross train Gallente to be able to fly some effective solo boat. I can do it with my Caldari recon like others now.
My Falcon who was before basically misused for fleet operations as the only useful Caldari ship, moved into domain of gangs and solo fights. I will have to survive with the battleships I got for fleets now. It is ok, I finally learned to bent over and armor tank them properly. Damage is ****, aside of POS shooting Raven. It is mostly because we compare to others and Ammar laser battleships do make Caldari boats to look bit pale.
And I am looking forward on the unexpected side product of this. I will surely monitor forums for tears of Falcon/Rook whiners who will be whining even more soon.

i'm not going to ***** about the nerf to falcon range, i always used mine at 100km, if people were able to have 200km optimals, that is overpowered
giving it hybrid bonuses, an additional turret hardpoint and a 10m3 drone bay to "soften the blow" seems pretty silly though, its like saying "yeah, we're nerfing your ship a bit here, but on the bright side, have a nice boiled sweet"

Hmm yes I normally don't find much of worth in the patch notes, but I did thoroughly enjoy this set.
I am glad the Falcon has been brought back down to Earth, although I would have preferred to see the otehr Recons buff up to the Falcon's level, I guess you'd still be left with an overpowered ECM boat.

I had heard, though I can't locate the thread, that putting up Covert Cynos in high sec to allow Black Ops jump bridges and jump drives to be used into those systems. Has this been implemented, if not then what was the reason? As specialists in high sec wars and great fans of force recon ships and stealth bombers, this would open up interesting new tactics for us.

However, could you please make contract values display consistently by always showing the value in parenthesis?
Currently: 2,000,000,000 (2 Billion) 1,999,999,999
Consistently: 2,000,000,000 (2 Billion) 1,999,999,999 (1.99 Billion)
Please! This would: 1. Weed out the lazy UI scammers. 2. Eliminate a lot of useless spam in local and in various trade related channels 3. Allow me to drink more beer!
Surely those are three great reasons!
Best idea this year...
No matter what is behind it, just take the first 3 numbers. 999¦999¦999 = (999 Million) 729¦398¦021 = (729 Million) 3¦277¦000¦000 = (3.27 Billion) etc...
Even if its not an exact number to what it is, it allows you to ballpark the cost, and its not hard then to see few 100k isk here and there.
Easy fix to any and all price confusement / scam or what ever.
/me hails Gekkoh for the idea. (Bring in more beer :P)

Edited by: Jack Gilligan on 16/04/2009 12:34:27 I joked last night that first thing I'm going to do after the patch is undock and self destruct my last remaining Falcon.
At least I had the foresight to some time back cross train Gallente T2 cruisers. The Arazu at least has the useful ability to do long range points. Falcons are absolutely worthless now. They don't have the grid to even run the extra railgun, and will do a laughably tiny amount of damage, and they won't really be able to ECM anything at range. Turning on 3 railguns and activating 5 ECM modules will drain the cap within seconds.
And a drone bay? Why?
Better to switch to flying Caldari stealth bombers, you can scout with them now, and when you decloak, you are just as fragile as a Falcon, but at least you can dish out some major and useful damage and you can afford to fit out 4 of them for the cost of a Falcon.
Congrats to all the whiners out there, you got your way. Don't be shocked when you don't get much sympathy from me when whatever it is you are flying gets nerfed. What goes around comes around.
--- My opinions are my own and do not necessarily represent those of my corp or alliance. |
