B**ch B**ch Whine Whine why do you lot play the game? I'm glad all the Meta 0 has been removed from PvE loot. Means that the indy side of the game gets a better look in, instead of everyone going for the easy way out to make money Who says that its not expansion? Just because they haven't seeded the command modules. Now if on the 6th June we have to download patches then you would be right in saying that there was something wrong.
The way they have done it gives everyone the chance to get the skills ready for the seed date instead of a mad rush to buy skills etc then buying the wrong modules cause you haven't done the home work correctly. If they did it that way I'm sure someone one b**ch about it.
Teh only thing I would like see changed on the Calendar is the option to put recurring events in

Originally by: Hatchet Deadeyes so all the nice new toys.. so heres whats getting me, after all this time no new ships players can buy. No new frigates/cruisers/BC's/BS etc. Last new one was the Tengu before that the Rokh if i remember right a few nice new ships in each class would have been rather nice. Or at least the option to visually customise your bird ie paint schemes/camo blar blar. Would have been nice to see Ravens with missile launchers shown like turrets instead of apprently firing from teh middle of your hull etc etc, and im sure theres plenty of peeps out there that can fill in the etc etc bit.
Yeah i Second that Notion! it would be really nice to have some sort of ship customization paint job etc etc. so we can all have unique and special ships. A few new ships would of been nice too.. The domi still has no afterburner effect or has it been fixed correct me if im wrong? great work so far on the update i know it`s work still in progress so we have to be patient Love EVE by the way.. Oh and for all you haters out there o game is perfect ccp cant please everyone it`s impossible either you love it or you hate it it`s like Marmite!! lol well Done CCP so far so good cant wait till Tyrannis is fully up and running
A patient player of EVE 8-)

Negative feedback for the patch. I do not like the nerfing of the meta 0 loot. I will be looking at other games. I read your dev blog on the reasons, and quite frankly, you could have achieved your goals without needing to nerf one group of players. I get the feeling that you want to force players to one style of play. Specifically, PVP, ninja looting and suicide ganking.

I don't plan to use it, so I don't have this problem as I will keep my 25-length zu'q[N4%iTFr`e-like password ^^, but some people will use it of course, and I hate to see a security blackhole like this one.
Well...
The problem is : Why did you have chosen to link the login/pass of EVE-Gate, to the ones we use ingame ?
The interest of EVE-Gate is to be able to be used everywhere and on any computers, to access some of ours datas, amirite ? So if we want to login, we are motivated to use a small, easy to type and easily memorable password.
But naturally, if we do that, we lower the security of the game account too.
You already made an error by removing the "Save password" function some years ago, just to please some idiots who forgot to not save it while they are not in their home, because we had so to lower the password complexity (or use a macro to login).
Now, it is even worse.
It is funny to read that we should "8. Have your password complex." in this linkage, and in the same time, make a easy password mandatory if we want to fastly and efficiently login to an external service.
CCP, you HAVE to give us the capacity to have a different password between the game and EVE-Gate, if we want to.

Originally by: Zwolf K'romg Say, I wondered - knowing that EVE is heavily 'pvp' are my planetary bases vulnerable to either destruction, or capture? or is it just that other players 'could' build a colony next to mine, and deplete the resources?
The resource stealing thing I can live with... investing tons of time and isk into building up a colony, only to have it captured or destroyed... no thanks.
I appreciate any response.
-out.
Here is my feedback: Stuff you deploy on planets is safe from other players attacking it. For now.
To deploy planetary stuff in 0.0 you need to belong to the entity that holds sovereignty.
Planetary stuff is 'instanced' -- any number of players can land on the same planet, and mine up things at the same plce. There is an option to hide other player's structures. There is some talk of 'depleting' resources, but I don't know if that is implmemented or to what degree it happens (think 40 players putting up 7 extractors on the exact same place....)
Eventually, DUST 514 will come --- a first person shooter title that CCP is working on, and supposedly at that time your planetary stuff can then be attacked -- via that side game. No indication about whether high sec stuff will be attackable.

I have to say I am shocked at peoples additude in this post, how rude some of you are being. It's fine to have an opinion but do you really need to be so vicious? Most of you are acting like spoilt little kids
Anyway, my opinion is -
I love the calandar in game, but it really does need a re-occuring function, I love Eve Gate and have already used it loads out of game to check mails, etc. Don't think the chatter thing will get used but time will tell. I understand the concept of the new contacts system but agree with most in that you still need folders in the address book.
I've noticed some significant performance increases and have actually been able to happliy set all graphics properties to full now, whereas I couldnt before without some FPS issues.
Can't comment too much on the NPC drop issue people seem to have as I don't mission much, but most people I have chatted to in game are fine with the idea and understand the need to balance things out.
Training up on PI skills, done some reading and know which planets I will be going for with my corp when the command centers are seeded. Looking forward to it!
Keep up the good work CCP and don't let all the negative winey people get you down, all in all I'd say the expansion has been a success so far.

DEV BLOG: # Three new skills have been added for planet scanning:
* ôRemote Sensingö allows a player to scan planets remotely, each skill level increases the distance at which itÆs possible to scan. * ôPlanetologyö increases the accuracy when scanning planets for resources. This is visible in the number of gradient bands displayed on the planet surface when scanning for a resource. * ôAdvanced Planetologyö further increases the accuracy when scanning planets for resources.
ACTUALLY PUT INTO THE GAME: Planetology - The understanding of planet evolution and the fundamentals of resource extraction.
Advanced Planetology - Advanced understanding of planet evolution and the fundamentals of resource extraction.

Does something seem wrong here?
Between the date the devblog was released and the date that they released it, somehow someone forgot to train "Clarity" to level 1. Please consider fixing the skillbook so it says something meaningful instead of an ambiguous blob of meaningless words.
Other than that, Go CCP!

So I love the new Scorpion model, seeing as how I run missions with a CNS. Only trouble is, with lvl 5's in low sec, and even most my lvl 4's in low sec, I don't get a chance to use it anymore, or the rattlesnake I just bought. 12/13 of the lvl 4 missions I checked last night were in low sec. Prior to patch, it was about 1 in 6 were in low sec. I have 2 characters with about 10 mil SP each purely in mission skills and could make about 200 mil isk a day before patch. After it, I have made 1.5 mil TOTAL. I flew from agent to agent with both characters and couldn't get but 1 mission in high sec, and it was drones which are worthless now.
The tengu and CNS that I normally run missions are worth 6 bil isk combined and are effectively useless. They have effectively nerfed mission running as a source of income completely. I'm not even complaining about the loot drop nerf... I have only been able to run 1 mission (not for lack of trying)
I find incredible that they completely wiped this methode of isk maing all together. And even more so that they did so without mentioning it before hand.
Seriously upset with CCP (and that is a first!), up till now I haven't had any problems with them at all. I really hope that they fix this otherwise there is not really anything to keep me playing since I will have to either switch to mining or something else to make any money. Seeing as how much time and energy I invested in setting up the system I had for missioning, it will be really hard to basically start over. I want to get into PvP but not be forced into it!!!

If this is posted more than once, I apologize. I don't have time to read through 11 pages of comments ...
The planetary interaction menu is on the left hand side of the screen and appears as part of the main screen (as apposed to a dialogue window). Besides being inconsistent with the way the rest of the UI is laid out, its also very inconvenient. While in PI mode, I have to unpin and move at least two windows. Its a minor inconvenience, but very annoying nonetheless. Whats more agonizing is when the windows that I just moved begin rearranging themselves when I log back in.
It would be nice to see the PI menu incorporated into its own dockable window.

My review on Tyrannis:
Scorp-Model is nice, PI - well not deployed, My agent's giving me more missions in a 4-system-away-Lowsec - FAIL New Corplogo's Absolute FAIL
I have to change my Corplogo to something else to get a nearly accepable Logo... so Fazit: I could live without Tyrannis just with Dominion and the Old Features, but maybe CCP can do a really good Job at the PI-Stuff and I change my view at this expansion... but still: New Corplogo's = fail, EPIC FAIL!!! -.-

I seriously agree with this, Ive been a mission runner for many years now and all I get is low sec mission offers. The load balancing crap is just gonna back fire big style. People running missions in the high sec systems that border low sec areas are now just vacate and move back to the big mission hubs like Auvergne and therefore just put even more stress onto these already packed out systems. You've gone from one extreme to another and need to think of taking a few steps back.

OK, who was the idiot who decided to mess with RAMs? Before, if I was going to put 100 of something in to build, and they used 15% of a RAM each, I only needed to have 15 RAM in the hangar to build them. Now to put 100 in to build, I have to have 100 RAM there even though I am only going to use up 15 of them.
Why was this change done apart to make things awkward for us builders?

Edited by: Hakaru Ishiwara on 28/05/2010 20:39:36 Ah, the insurance changes. While the tech 1 hull insurance levels aren't terrible, the tech 2 levels still are not incentive enough to shell out the ISK for the insurance contract. I'd rather put the insurance premium into good ammunition and drones for potentially better outcomes on the battlefield.
I now have reservations about putting fully rigged tech 2 or meta 3 - 4 fit battleships onto the battlefield, though. Same goes for battlecruisers, to a lesser extent. Not only do I have to manage logistics to get ships and consumables to combat staging areas, but I also have to work harder to replenish the ISK to fund the hardware as well as the insurance premium and ship fittings + consumables. That's a fact for me, my style of play and the amount of time that I have allocated towards PvE activities, currently.
Clearly, I need to re-evaluate my style of play.

Originally by: Duke Hamilton1 Right then here goes. I've been playing this game for 11 weeks now and was introduced by a group of guys from Evony. Trained my learning got into a rifter and started doing level 4 missions with the vets. It now seems that missions are worthless, all the players which I mission with are pretty pist off as its our main source of income to survive and build with until we train enough relevant skills for other careers. With this 60-70% reduction in looting which I think is a seriously flawed mistake are we now being forced into PVP combat and Planet Interaction, do we have to spend $70 a fortnight night on plex just to get our iskies up to where it would be without the changes. A lot of people relied on Mission running especially the noobs and now I wonder how you plan on attracting new players and keeping them when the only real revenue source for the noobs has been taken away. As a noob I'm pretty pist off that this has happened and all I do now is watch the skill que waiting to fly my first T2 ship so I have a chance at some kind of PVP.
You either like crying too much, or you are lying about yourself being a noob. Nothings changed in low level missions loot-wise.

Seeing as though a hulk pilot can mine more trit in a couple hours than I can from 4 weeks of mission running. Sure it would have been fine if there had of been even a vague effort in this or the last two expansions to give the mission runners some decent lvl 4 missions that are not just designed to destroy standing with a major faction. Even a token increase in bounties would have been nice. Apart from the loot nerf it seems that salvage drops have increased by a reasonable amount. Thats nice. The market for that stuff should tank nicely as well. All in all an expansion that took much much much more than it gave for the mission running fraternity, and gave so much more to those that already had the most. Hows that for your precious balance.
It is funny how you can understand that increased drop of salvage will tank prices down, but can't understand that tons of heavy loot were tanking mineral prices down in the same way...

Edited by: Geldar Wroontik on 28/05/2010 23:50:31 The planet interface is sexy. I had a blast just flying around scouting planets on patch day, and I'm really looking forward to putting stuff down to mine things.
I'm a bit meh on the new contacts screen, but I haven't really put that through its paces so I don't have a full opinion on it.
EVE Gate's been OK, but there is one thing I'd like fixed please: when you put in a line break between paragraphs, when you send the message it all squishes up. I'd like line breaks to remain in (EVE mail doesn't have this problem). Also I'd like to be able to make hyperlinks like you can in EVE mail.
Otherwise, good job so far CCP *thumbs up*
EDIT: Oh also, the new Scorpion model is amazing. If that's the treatment you're going to give all the ships, I'm definitely looking forward to it. ----- Blasters: enough Ammunition: plenty Bubblegum: none |

"View in planet mode"
On another note - would it be possible to place this button in the "selected item" menu behind show info, as the last option? Having "view in planet mode" right next to the "warp to" button makes no sense whatsoever.
I don't see why anyone would want to have it next to a button with tactical relevance, if you can just as well place it where it belongs - in the info section.
