You touch on an interesting point there rooster, you're absolutely correct this game isnt just about isk per hour, what about adventure?
Being a sci-fi nut has open my mind and ive watched films and read books of amazing stories. This is my chance to be in one of those stories :)
I totally agree with this. In my view, it really helps to have a role playing streak in order to really enjoy Eve. Too many people think in terms of maximizing ISK/hour. Now, I am the first to admit that there is nothing wrong with that, and it in part stems from the competitive urge to be the best/have the highest score, etc. in any game.
But there are many other reasons why someone might want to spend time in the Eve world. For example, let's pretend you knew someone with a stressful day job doing statistical programming and data management. (hint: this could be a true scenario!) It might just be that for that person, the last thing they want to do is come home at night and pour over a spreadsheet managing buy and sell orders. Maybe, just maybe, they get a lot more satisfaction from slipping through gate camps in a covert ops ship, heading out to some remote and desolate system to do some scanning or heaven forbid even some mining! Sure, they could make more running level 4s or station trading, but is that the whole point?
By the same token, hardcore PvPers are very frank about the fact that they don't make much money in PvP and often need a trading or missioning alt to support their habit. Isn't PvP just another form of role playing?
All I am saying is, it is very possible to have a rich and rewarding game experience in Eve without approaching it as a profit maximization exercise.
[now can I have your stuff?]

The preparation of this venture is going very well and weve managed to meet a few cool people.
weve had a couple of incidents involving reds which resulted in a ship loss for one of the guys that came down. His attitude about the loss was great and I think hes well on the path to learning how it goes in npc 0.0 we will help him build another ship and he will continue.
Were working hard to get The Garden website up and running.
Please feel free to check out channel "e-a public", come and be part of this wonderful venture.

Hey Guys,
I'm a little bit baffled.
I calculate there are more than 15,000 pilots in hi-sec that will never set foot into NPC 0.0. Weve had a good response so far a few people have gotten involved and they can clearly see there really isnt much to be worried about. I'm wondering why more people havent taken the time to have a look at NPC 0.0.
I've got to have some respect for these super alliances and NBSI corps because they have been very successful in making the hi-sec population believe that they do not stand a chance in NPC 0.0.
Hi-sec guys, I feel it is my duty to once again tell you that you've been conned. Please do not believe the hype. The only way for the hostiles to stop you comming here is if they completly give up making isk. This will be impractical for the hostiles.
I can help you to setup here and once thats done there will be no stopping you. You'll have to accept that I am a mature man (33 years old) and I've been playing since the begining (over 7 years) so I do know what I'm talking about.
All we have to do is come together, work together, and stay together. Have a think about it. "e-a public" will always be open.

I can attest to what Aaron says.
1) I spent several weeks listening in on "E-A public" and reading through all the threadnaughts related to "hub zero" and the various neutral 0.0 hub projects. So I was very familiar with the extreme drama that had occurred over the past year or so (this didn't bother me).
2) Last week I flew down in my covops, crossing through 20-25 0.0 gates and barely saw a sole.
3) After arriving in Stain I set up safes, 200 km lookouts at stations and gates, and insta undocks.
4) Aaron and the others down here have been very helpful advising who to set red, and helping bring additional ships down by carrier.
5) I've already done a some belt ratting and including taking down a 1.8 million bounty Blood Tyrant with a Myrmidon and 5 hammerheads.
6) I am fully expecting to lose some ships to hostile players.
I am still splitting my time between 0.0, lowsec, and highsec, but 0.0 is certainly livable so long as you take the standard precautions. Oh and yes, logistics are tough, so plan well what you need to bring down.

Despite all that has been said...
Aaron is a good leader because he has the only quality a good leader needs:
a strong will!
we had a little skirmish today.
He did not really win... but his will remains just as strong i am sure.
Here is what happened:
i ganked his vaga with my celestis. cos i'm that awesome yes i know.
then i gank his sleipnir and his buddy's deimos in front of his carrier with my tempest.
then i gank his zealot.. this time he didn't consider necessary to bring the carrier.
then i gank his drake in front of his falcon .. again with my tempest.
then i came here to brag about my victory.
I shall call it "Strong will hunting"

Not a bad idea, considering that Dalv always flies overly expensive active shield tanks which would be neuted to death when ratting...
Though really, I'm pretty sure the 1.8m blood BS isn't Tyrant.
EDIT: Actually, there isn't even a 1.8m Blood battleship. The closest thing is a 1.7m Blood Patriach or the 1.85m Blood Pope. So yeah, that was a typo and they must still be in Sansha space.

You are a good pvp'er and I made some mistakes,With the Vaga I forgot to turn on my invulner, lol. Me and my buddy were 1km out of my carrier repping range when I fought you with my sleipnir. Yeah it sucks for me but its only a game Dalv and I dont take it too seriously. And with the falcon I was 100km away the ECM failed.
Ultimatley dalv your tractics have lots of flaws. You cant beat my Domi and you never engage when I im in it.
I know you spend every moment of your life playing this game which is quite sad really, Your only focus is PVP and yes you are quite good at it. I only really log on to wind you up and I stay afk for most of the day as I have stuff to do.
As you can notice I have grown dalv, Im beyond arguing so intensely over a video game. This will be the last time I respond to anything you say.
You're out of order for insulting my mother over a video game, and you seem like a deppressed maniac for not letting go of this dispute you and your friends have had with me for almost a year. To be totally honest with you I feel quite sorry for you, seems Eve is all you have in life.
N.B. Dont worry about my ship loss dalv. I got billions that will comfortably cover it. but feel free to harrass me 24/7 it wont get you anywhere. :)

Ok I'd like to get the show on the road. So im going to do a promotion that will End on the 11th of september 2010.
I hereby pledge to offer pilots that come down a half price Battlecruiser (half of hi-sec price).
The terms of this are you must register on the garden website (when it goes live) and have an voice chat with myself or Dracvlad.
I'm very confident we can make a success of this, plus we got quite alot of resources just sitting in my corp hanger.
It might be a good idea to hang in "e-a public" and monitor this thread for announcements.
I'm a good kind guy, and have no problem doing this :)

As you can see for yourself dalv has a very nasty attitude. Try not to worry too much about him when you come down as hes very easy to avoid. I'd strongly advise putting him on block as he is clearly not well and has no idea how to interact socially.
We will be moving to a place where he can't follow and he will stay in my current location as he thinks thats what this fight is about.
Dont worry about the ships I have lost to dalv I can comfortably afford to take risks and indulge, we actually have very close fights everyday that normally end with him somehow managing to warp out in structure. He has lots of luck on his side.

I had a good convo with one of the Local-Spike enemies today, hes a pretty cool dude I must say. I think he just needs to chill out a little bit.
This Local-Spike guy thinks this is all about me being a dictator and me getting my own way, this is not the case, Im going to try one more time to appeal to the likes of AOV/Local Spike and the rest of the hi-sec population. Im not bothering with dalv as he is too far gone. The other super alliances such as AAA/SE/BrickSquard are actually pretty cool and I think theyll be happy to go along with the role play.
ok, In clear english these are the goals I'd achieve.
- Open up a part of NPC 0.0 so that a loosley associated group of pilots/corps or alliances can set eachother blue and work a set of systems so that we can all benefit. I'd like for us to be open to having more corps/pilots join us and be blue.
Thats about it acctually lol.
I think its time AOV and Local-Spike helped out with this.
Gabriel, lets sit at a table and simply have a beer and talk. This thing is bigger than the both of us, Im happy to admit i was hard to deal with before. I know you can accept no one is perfect and everyone has their way of doing things i believe its a simple case of us finding some common ground and building on it. we both think eachother have made bad calls this will never change. whats important is that we are able to reason with eachother and move forward. I'll admit you've got skills, I got skills too. lets try to combine them and completly change the way this game is percieved forever. There has to be more to eve than gate camping and roaming, what about adventure?
Logicfx, Were quite similar in certain ways. I can understand were your comming from with the reason why you fell out with me in the first place. what ive come to learn is that people argue and fight, and they learn from their experiences. It just happened man, what can I say. One of your guys went and did somthing I had asked lots of times not to be done.
Tbh, It doesnt really matter what you decide, I can say that I do care to a small extent what you decide :) The fate of eve online depends on it.
If you decide to have nothing to do with it I guess Id only ask if you can tone down the obsession with killing me so relentlessly please dont give me your "im a target of oppertunity speech". forget the 24/7 hanging around me, forget the smak, go have some fun with all of your friends and forget about me.
All in the name of populating NPC 0.0.

@ Logicfx -- I recognize that name.
Hmmm... when CVA eventually reclaims a little pocket again (because eventually they will) is AOV going to come running back to them and nuzzle up against their warm, role playing bosom . . . once again trumpeting NRDS policy?
I mention this because, well, plenty of corporations and alliances maintained their NRDS precedent after the entire SC rocked CVA's world. You guys however seem to be doing pretty much as you please. The speed in which so many of the "Provi Pets" chucked their "Moral Ideals" proves that they were just there to ride CVA's coattails and gain access to the Citadel Channel JUST so they could Cearbear ISK . . . just like everyone said they were.
So when Aralis is away, the kids will play?

I don't speak on behalf of my alliance, but from what I've known AoV has always remained NRDS in Providence; however, we obey the rules of the space that we fly through to avoid obvious bad situations. That fact is highlighted on our own forums. Also, we're mostly in Providence because it's a nice place to PvP without the 400 man blobs. On another note, I also have an annoying sig. |

Ok, so "Were NRDS" is just somthing one says to get into CVA Sov space, you dont have to have those ideals at your core?

Aaron, I just think there are too many people who play eve to fight and kill each other for your corp to ever survive long. Anyone joining your corp would automatically be targeted as an easy kill to any passer by because you're always able to be jumped. The kind of world you're after does exist but its called project entropia or second life. You talk about adventure but what adventure are you talking about if its not fighting someone?
