Isn't CCP's line supposed to be, "Give me the money!" Not catchy enough. How about:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AGt5f70K02Q&feature=related
Starring Tom Cruise as disgruntled Eve vets and Cuba Gooding Jr. as CCP.

Monocles rock. Incarna is great. For those who quit, don't let the door hit you on the way out. For those who decide to buy huge amounts of stuff remember that you just give pirates more to take. I've never seen a good victim in a Nightmare with officer fits. I have seen a lot of good pirates in t2 fits and t1 ships. oh I have a monocle and I'm a member of Rebirth. Feel free to visit. -V

Absolutely vym1337. That's what the big party in Jita is all about. Everyone is helping celebrate their love of Incarna, monocles, CQ, MT, and especially CCP's wonderful relationship with its loyal customers.

Congrats CCP. My account is cancelled and I'll be departing Eve once my remaining time runs out, or I get bored of protesting - whichever happens first. You say you'll only take notice of our actions? Ok, I'm acting. Hope you're happy. -- Frog blast the vent core! |

When I saw your character with monocle, Colonel Klink from "Hogan's Hero's" comes to mind.

The Monocle should have been more like the Borg from 'Star Trek'
I like the idea of vanity items but after checking on how to obtain them as well as the price...........

Death.
Main account goes inactive today. This toon will go inactive in less than one month.
The response from CCP, such as it was, sucked the fun out of this game.

This is really sad..
I started to play eve in the late 2003.. i did also the Beta.. This toon has 6 years.. and i have.. 4 account atm.. 5 total..
what should i do..
let me do some math.. i payed something like 3.360Ç to play eve in this years.. and i did it as it was a different game .. a better one.. a game i loved.. now seems ccp is making it a "bastard" game.. something i cant recognize as the EVE i met when i was playing Earth And Beyond..
I'll wait.. maybe CCP will stop kill "his" baby.. i hate when they removed the training skills.. i hate everytime they made eve EASIER (why easier ???? go wow if you need something easier..) I'll hate to close my accounts.. but if ccp wont stop make this game a bad game i think i should invest my time and money somewhere else.. maybe i will change my camera..
i've warned you ccp.. in september i'll decide.. in the while i remove the autopay..

Give me Monocle or give me death? that's eazy,.. death.
Unsubbing two accounts and they will both expire within a fiew days. Keeping this last, my main up to see what will happen. If stupid things will happen i'm going to use those 4 houres of time to activate plex for time to sell everything, buy plex, donate to chairity and terminate my caracters and let the accounts expire.
There's no use in playing this game anymore if CCP will continue on this path. My money will be better spent on other games. CCP, YOU DON'T KNOW CCP Sreegs lies about new Forum security fail |

I can not explain how you can call your customers idiots informally? In the modern world, it would cost a company losing customers and money. Game industry remembers very large failures, and this game is about to be recorded on the "Walk of Fame" |

I like the choice of adding some "design" to ones character, however I think it sucks bigtime that those "vanity" items is lost when podded. Walking in station feature...!? I fail to see how that has anything to do with being in your pod with wires attached to your body to control your ship, you simply don't need clothes. I like Eve Online and most of the stuff you do (CCP) but breaking up a storyline fact like this and making it look silly doesn't impress. I would fully vouch for this if the stuff you buy wasn't affected by getting podded and what not. Give me one reason CCP why people should spend for example 1.4 billion isk on a vanity item and making their pod a high value object when a pod usually is worth almost nothing. The only reason I see for the current mechanics is for you benefit only at the expense of players satisfied with this new feature.
I just can't connect the dots in this to a friendly player based gaming experience. I'd rather spend my currencies on out in space objects like ships than this.

All y'all do realize you're not really wearing a monocle, do you? It's an ocular implant!

See all the tubes and conduits? That's because it's an implant. It's supposed to either replace your eye, or at least be put over it, but so that the top conduit goes undearneath your eyelid, and the bottom one inside your eye-socket too.
It seems to have been rushed out in such an unprofessional manner, however, that they just slapped the thing on top of your eye, so it kinda looks like a monocle. And for AUR 12,000 a pop, that's a sad state of affairs.

When I incur injury during combat, I pay for a fresh clone grown from my own perfect unaltered DNA, thus preserving my body for all time. Those who choose to violate the sanctity and beauty of their body by the savage and archaic method of replacing lost limbs or organs with electromechanical implants are a sad lot. Even worse are those who intentional have organs removed for such folly as an ocular implant. You filth should be cast out of free space for the Sansha's to find. I'm sure you would be welcomed there.

Hello.
So, with the anticipated Aurum windfall we're getting from the Eveisreal thing, it got me speculating a bit. I can't be arsed to read through the full 59 pages of this thread, but I want to get an idea how the NeX catalogue will work. Basically, what I'm asking is if what's currently available is the 'summer fashion lineup' which will be phased out in favor of new 'fall fashions'. The reason I ask is, if availability is limited by the season or whatever will, say, 'Greaves' women's boots be a thing I can sell at a considerable mark-up next year as they'll no longer be available directly via NeX and thus only available through player trades?
I'm actually serious. I'd consider investing my freebie Aurums into limited run clothing and sit on it while it increases in value/rarity. I really have nothing to lose by doing so. |

Edited by: buee on 03/08/2011 15:35:09 Edited by: buee on 03/08/2011 15:34:14 To any of the Devs still reading this thread,
Why have you stopped responding to posts, many of which are very well thought out and honest about trying to improve the current situation? Is it not painfully obvious that the current system was received poorly? I don't ask you to admit to anything, just give us some sort of hope that you are still listening!
My take on the situation is that the prices on the NeX are just to unreasonably high for a vanity item. It seems strange to me that for the price of a monocle, or a shirt, one can also purchase a tech 3 ship, or any number of other high-end internet spaceships available on the ISK market.
To many, including me, this feels like a blatant slap in the face. This isn't a problem with the player run market catching up with the release of the NeX items. It is because a Plex returns a set amount of Aurum, and the prices of Plexes currently are already out of control because of how many Plexes are required to purchase an item like a monocle.
Surely you must have foreseen this inflation of Plex prices, you really have no excuse with a full time economist on staff.
Even if you draw real life parallels with how expensive clothing can be, it just doesn't compare to how expensive clothes are in EvE. This would be like purchasing a spring jacket for the same price as an aircraft carrier.... does this make any sense to you?
You donÆt have to get rid of Aurum, or the NeX Market, just reduce the prices of these ridiculous items. People arenÆt just rage quitting, theyÆre quitting because they can no longer afford to support their other accounts by grinding up the Isk to buy Plexes. It feels like you are forcing people to spend more money, even though all youÆve added was an optional item.

In response to an early reply posted by a Dev, which questioned why many believe the new NeX market subverts the total immersion that Incarna seeks to achieve.
I am sure there are more than just one or two reasons for this, but the biggest that came to my mind are the following:
*Why can we only purchase clothing through the NeX, when clothing has obvieously been around for atleast the past 20,000 years? *Why can't we manufacture clothing, or manage a colony that does (keeping with immersion). *Why is clothing so obscenely expensive? *Why has Aurum suddenly appeared without warning, with no explanation for where it came from or why it is needed as opposed to good old fashioned ISK?
How about from the perspective of a new player entering the game? What message are you sending to them when they find that he only way to obtain new clothing is to become a multi-billionaire through massive grind fests, or by spending more money in addition to the subscription fee? It feels A LOT more like a cheap generic f2p mmo than you might think.
Frankly, I think that you underestimated just how many subscribers loved you because you didnÆt do something like this, and how many continued to play because you refused to go with the flow of mainstream MMOs.
I loved the idea of Incarna, and I still love it, I just don't want to see it cause the death of EvE.
