well zulu, its nice to know that my 6 account subsciption pays for you to have $1000 dollar jeans. i personally however would love to ****ing know what gave you the idiotic idea that after spending this much on a GAME ALREADY, i would want to spend more on items that have absolutely no bearing on EVE's CENTRAL PILLAR MOTHER ****ING GAMEPLAY.

This is such a letdown.
At least CCP could've said something like "things were taken out of context but we got the message that this is a very sensitive and important issue for you and we'll approach and communicate it with more care in the future." Which says nothing either but at least would've given the impression that at least something got through.
Instead we just got...
The whole problem here is that the newsletter clearly wasn't a "for the sake of argument" pro-con discussion! Allow me to quote p.11 again; "On the opposite end of the scale to vanity items are performance based items such as weapons. They are consumed through gameplay,..." "Selling them though, is highly controversial. We are planning on doing so."
I think it's pretty clear where the focus lies, any and all "creative" methods to gain more revenue from MTs. I expected a more sincere effort at trying to voice a response which at least would've put some of us a little at ease that you may have gotten what a bunch of people are so worked up about.. If that 15 minute write-up is the fruit of a day+ internal discussions, this is worse than I thought.

If most Eve players wore 1000$ jeans they could sell them and buy computers capable of running CQ.
Maybe CCP Zulu has yet to realize that we won't be bought off with his sleek marketing talk avoiding the real issue. Address the issue and quit underestimating the intelligence of your customers.
60% of the Eve players I know in RL have quit their accounts. The remaining 40% are out getting drunk and blissfully unaware of the situation.

The best thing though is... CCP won't die. Or stop. Or change.
If they ignore all this and wait for it to blow over, which it will!
A few thousand players leave. Then CCP waits till these angry threads are gone. pushed to the back. Perhaps patch some things in a good way to get some positive stuff going on.
Then suddenly on Steam EVE becomes free or time codes work for 90 days or some kind of similar promotion and 10000 new players walsch right in. Problem solved. Since they don't know the old system they like eve. And happily empty their real pockets to fill their virtual ones.
CCP grows stronger and bigger. And nobody is any the wiser.

No disrespect to EVE players and CCP, but you just screwed the pooch.
I used to Play Dark age of Camelot on the EU servers run by GOA on behalf of Mythic Entertainment....
1 bad decision caused 60-70% of the population to cancel eu subs and start up on US version run by Mythic.
Withdraw the nexus stor and CQ until you have it sorted.
Give the players so stuff they want (SC rebalanced) (dread boost) more nice looking models and perform DAMAGE CONTROL.
The fact that EVE is funding 514 and WOD,no wonder you arnt getting rid of the rmt'rs......
Greed is good, but so are players... you need us more than we need you....

I would like you to know that I am unsubscribing 5 accounts.

hey CCP,
You know there's another sci-fi MMO where you can walk around stations and buy game changing items via microtransactions, right?
It's called Star Trek Online.
It's dying in it's infancy as a game, despite being based on probably the 2nd most popular sci-fi franchise of all time (a benefit EVE doesn't have). Learn from the mistakes made by your contemporaries at cryptic studios. Don't force us to walk around when we just want to pew. Don't offer gameplay advantages to those with a higher credit card limit than others.
If you start messing with the fundamental tenets of EVE, by which I mean the real time skill training, player driven economy and core principle of "fair", your game will die. There are too many bugs, glitches, nonsensical game mechanics and simple faults, as well as too little actual content for it to survive being turned into a battle of the playerbase's RL disposable income.
