Paltos Rikwet	Posted - 2005.03.27 16:03:00 - [1514] Servers can be troublesome, software can be troublesome, and I truly understand the annoyance of coming in on a long weekend to do fixes. However, that being said, we do pay for a service - one that is up more than it is down (which cannot be said for this weekend). I notice that a lot of people are defending CCP, but the cold, hard fact is that we pay for a service and it is simply not being provided. What if you went into your local bank and found the Bank Machine down most of the time, would you complain or simply say "Ahh, those poor buggers have to come in and fix the machine on the weekend". You can go on and on about these poor guys working on the weekend or having to deal with angry customers - but I would be very willing to bet that these guys are paid good money for their hard work and effort - and that there are people who ARE currently working and did not have to come into the office. This is their job. It's not like we're asking them to go out of their way to provide us with a favour. Also, CCP owes us nothing in the way of refunds, bonuses or kick-backs to keep us quiet and put up with the obviously FUBAR'd weekend. However, in the same line of thought, we owe CCP nothing either. We don't have to pay CCP if it becomes too much of a hassle to play the game. This works both ways. CCP can't operate without us, and we can't play EVE without CCP. The long and short of it is that we either have to put up with the crappy service or move on to another (hopefully), less crappy service.
