Edited by: sonofollo on 09/11/2005 01:17:42 the reboot probably failed they should try within a short tiem - as for downtimes due to things related to WOW normally thigns are pretty good the unexpected downtimes here are about 10-20% of what WOW has had in the last 12 months there have been a few latley due to the growth of the game (limiting trial accounts during busy periods) has been offered as a solution to a degree and promptly ignored and uncommented on.
Otherwise no its normally pretty good except for this massive growth we are seeing but if u stick it out 6 months after RMR in and the new blade servers and drone changes and other hardware put in it should come up pretty good.
If this nasty little alliance - corp was responsible take 50% of their respective ISK balances and distribute them to all the other players that were logged on at the time and distribute in an even manner.
Sounds like a fair concord tax for removing eve off the map.

soo, now would be a good time to announce, when do we start putting in petitions about the lost training time? I heard that petition system is pretty stuck atm because of a large number of reports.

At the end of the day these people have actively, and deliberately brought down the servers in a game that is paid for by all of us. Politics don't belong in this game - CCP may have taken a decision to freeze servers or even to change the slighltly inflmitory name of a corp in the game. Ultimately, however, this isn't a forum for political debate. It's a game that people pay for. Why people felt that this small cross section of the global community was the right place to make a political point is beyond me. People play these games to have an alternative to the tedious humdrum of day to day existance. If a corp brought politics into an inappropriate arena then CCP were well within their rights to stop that. To respond to that decision with action that's deliberately intended to diminish or halt the game experience for thousands of paying customers is a) not the right forum to make a political point and b) selfish and arrogant.
Remember, people, these people have chosen to make a political statement in an explicitly non-political arena. Why should they force politics onto us in our game time? And in such a way that means that the experience is diminished for many?
I have very strong political views, but do i enforce the on the eve community? NEVER. This is not the correct forum to make such a point and we should not tolerate any action that intrudes on our live.
If you want to make a political point use a political mechanism, don't screw over a load of people who a) can't influence political views in any meaninful way and b) don't necessarily share your view

Hopefully nothing goes wrong when all the jittery eve-withdrawing players try to log on at once

It's wonderfully ironic how instead of actually doing something productive, we just sit around online and talk about Eve not working . . . it's a sickness, I tell you.

I just got tired of wow (5 hour MC and BWL raids, 5 days a week of raiding, nonstop pvp and griefing, etc) I like farming some tiems stress free. No clue what higher levels or areas are like, but enjoying the casual environment of the game so far as pposed to WoW, from what I've seen I mean

i remember the days where WoW spent a hole 12 hours down i think ccp do a terrific job in getting it back up, tho it does come as a pain in the backside when it happens least they are swift to get it working again.. good job guys, i hope ive not lost any ships while server was down cos i was happily sat in middle of a jump at the time..

ewlcome to all those wow convertees - this dt issues arent normally a problem CCp has a small growth spurt on its hands and some teething problems exist but xmas RMR patch and new blade servers and a host of other hardware and software upgrades will soon have it back to its normal near perfect self - still much better than wow as well

ok folks, i know we're all excited, but lets all take a few deep breath's before logging in.. or we'll probly bugger the server up and have to get another reboot.. thousands of eve players that have gone cold turkey all connecting at once.. eek (yes i include myself in this)
