Welp, either you guys killed me just as the server went down and my game shut down before yours, or the server bugged. I didn't find myself dead until I logged back in. Before the crash I was still flying, taking damage, and fighting, taking little bits of damage from of your guys sentries, and dodging fire from the dreads (while within about 30km of all your BS). That continued right up until the second the server kicked me. Bit annoyed that I got killed without seeing it/being able to respond. Cool that I survived 10 mins, but still

You got two cycled and we switched targets when your armor stopped moving and our guns stopped using ammo. This was well before the node crash |

This could have happened to anyone and gone either way. Sorry to goons but either way it was a fun fight up until that point. Also we need less tidi in future events and fights such as this.

Poor engineer.. we've all screwed up at some point in IT and disrupted services for users. If you've not screwed up you've just not been doing it for long enough. Long hours and late nights are usually the reason.
I'm interested in the change control process though and was the engineer performing the migrations alone while on-call? Do multiple people need to confirm an action before it is performed on a production node? Are there any improvements to processes that can be implemented?

This battle is truly epic in the history of EVE because it was the first time that a CPP actively affected the outcome of a pivotal battle in null security space. It is unfortunate that "human error" was the cause, but what is CCP going to do to try to correct this mistake and try to reconcile the actions that were taking place in space when the node was terminated? |

What is important is how CCP will learn from this and I will bet isk that they will automate this process in future.
CCP can't even figure out how they programed POS what makes you think they can figure out how to automate something as delicate and complex as server management? |

They were in warp disruption bubbles with agro timers. According to everything I know about logoff mechanics, they should not have moved anywhere, regardless of server crashes, characters log offs, or any amount of tinfoil.
I'm willing to accept that it was a simple mistake and there was no foul play, but only if you can give us a solid explanation for why the carriers disappeared from the field, in contradiction to well-established logoff mechanics.

In the attempt to improve the overall fight quality and node stability in the Z9PP system at 22:41 UTC by moving away all non-critical services from this node, our engineers unfortuntely made a mistake and actually moved the critical system from the current server node instead of moving all other systems. As result every pilot in this system lost connection to the node and therefore to Tranquility. The system Z9PP is online and accessible again now. It is extremely unfortunate to make such a mistake and we apologize deeply for disrupting one of the truly epic battles in the history of EVE; especially since this battle already raged on for several hours and was still heating up for more! We are very sorry about this incident and will make sure that such mistakes won't happen again. Its wasnt a mistake it was intentional thats for saving over a trillion isk of ships you idiots.

The same thing happened to CFC dreads. Aggression is not stored following a node crash or remap. It is not a new thing. |

what is the point of all this? if i was a player in the test aliance i would be just us mad that some thing like this could happen. its point blank cheating and takes away all the meaning of gaming and what comes with it. we the player dont need this kind of intervention other ways we would be playing some cheap f2p and buying our uber itams so we could pown for pur money.
will all the goon ships be restored? or the game reseted to the time before the battle started? and what will happen to the ships test didnt loose? becouse if they get to keep them its like CCP giving ingame cash to this group and an advantage where there should be non.
the best solution for now i think is to make a monster fleet and start jumping from system to system make ich server grid crash. remember not all systems are equipep or capped so that they can hold more than 1500 players some are small trade hubbs and are made to hold 2000 jita is closed att that stage. lets make the game crash =)
oh and forgive my engrish plris =P |

There seems to be alot of controversy about CCP taking sides on this...I dont recall this happening during the Asaki fight why would it happen here...There was alot more going on during that battle and the implication of supers so why would a battle like this mess up a node ? CCP I really hope you arent taking sides just because you have employees in the alliances or because you have a stronger relationship with players in certain alliances. I believe that you ruined alot of peoples experience especially those who were new to the game and then experienced the back draft of the "node crash". I dont have anything against you but i know alot of people will after the events today and alot of other people who join looking for a decent and fair game ( as far as the company controlling the game, not the mechanics and the sandbox its based around ), and experience all of the commentary and negative feed back. You better get your act together and fix things that dont have to be fixed on the dot, during down time. You pissed of ALOT, and i mean ALOT of people. |

CCP here should do what any other gaming company would do: - Roll back the node state to before shutdown occured - Force log in all the players who were on the field at the time before shut down - Kick off log off timers
There is no excuse or words that CCP can say about this. Battle has been going on for 5-6 hours, in tidi yes, but node was stable, UNTIL a CCP employee decides to shut down the node and end the battle that could have been a decisive blow to TEST and friends.
Sorry is not the way to handle the situation. I don't know what you can do to make up for this, but this looks more to me like intentional action than a human error. |
