well, i would expect any person planning a trip to any null sec with a sizeable fleet to actually take a look at what is actually happening in the area, who's living there, what are their primetime etc..... sounds to be FCing 101 to me.... This is the concerning part. It would appear that the Dev's don't follow any of the NullSec Politics. Everyone knew the area was on fire. Hence wrongly thinking they had done something to assist in getting through. No one i spoke to ever thought CCP would send a H.S fleet through such a zone with no back up what so ever. yup, like i said before, they don't know how to play the game, in this case, the CCP persons involved didn't know how to FC |

One of my mistakes was thinking CCP new know bad the zone was and actually had done something to counter this. Nievly i thought as a perceived PVE focused event (yes with PVP expected) They would cyno us in or bring CCP fleet back up to allow more balance or at least people to make it to the event location. It was only on that final jump that i came to the conclusion they were clueless and and would appear to have screwed over the fleets.
So you assumed that being CCP is involved that you and the rest of the lemmings thought that you would were not going to lose any fight and that there some sort of back up somewhere to prevent you guys from diaf? Is that what you are inferring? Arn Dog wrote:Part of the reason why people think it was a set up is the Dev's logged off straight away after everything went wrong. Leave Fleets with no direction on what was happening or even if the event was active. This coupled with the Event being Auto Destructed also feed this impression. If i had know this was the plan i would have joined the Pirates for the opportunity to actually PVP lol Pirates? What pirates, I thought it was Razor. Go read the event info and numerous news pages and stop trolling. Everyone expect that at least some of the fleets actually would get to the event location even if we all got killed their . No one is upset about losing a ship and a pod. Everyone is annoyed by the way it was set up and managed.
Trolling, dude you have no idea what that even is. You just do not want to actually address my response, so you through out the "Troll" card.
And you guys are butt hurt about losing you space pixels, and pissed that CCP dragged a bunch of risk averse autistic squirrel to their deaths.

You made a statement not referring to any of the previously discussed topics in the post by others. Then a question when the answer was in the official Eve post and anyone who has been following the event knows what happened to that fleet. So Yes Trolling.

This is a great read guys.
The only thing that i have an issue with is we didn't know that the destination point was were it was .We only found this out 10mins before hand. Being construction does anyone know where this was posted prior to the event?
No one in HS to my knowledge knew where the event was going to be staged and i think this is one of the biggest points of confusion when discussing the topic. |

Excuse me, this is a teaching experience.
It's ultra-known that in EvE (and not only) if you "have a fight" or "have a fair fight" it's because the other guy committed a serious mistake.
If the other guy knows WTF he's doing, you WILL get slaugthered witihout a single hope to get out. The winners will thus say: "it was a fair fight and we won".

Been playing since 2006, never bothered with any live events because bluntly, i don't trust CCP as far as I can throw them, and never have. They are basically a bunch of chancers who got lucky a decade ago and ever since they have needed EVE subscribers to tell them how to play their own game, and the conflicts of interest that have arisen since would put the EU / IMF Troika to shame. |

Look i went into the fight partially PVE but mostly PVP fit as i had no idea what the event was going to be. Hence i lasted one's standing of the first blood bath and actually got on a kill unlike most. The TiDi coupled with CCP FC skills and "just jump to Planet 4 when the bubble dispersers rubbish" caused loads of High Sec players to die on probably their first LS adventure. What sort of Dev doesn't know that the bubbles will just get re deployed in the instant they are down and that you wouldn't last long enough to just "warp out" Every wormholer and NullSec guy does.
What takes the **** more is the actual event would have been over even if we had made it past the gate by the time we got their.
What surprises me the most is how CCP want to setup events but:
- they tend to be terrible at their game
- there are less good CCP FCs than in an hi sec 5 men mining corp.
Therefore, if they ever wanted to "smoothly introduce" new players to the hot spots of EvE, they failed in the most horrific way.
If they planned to get a 10% raise in newbies subs they will face a 20% drop instead, and all of this for the reasons above. |

As it was my first ever aggressive endeavor into Null I will concede that it was a very sobering experience but would point out that I would love to do similar again. I only really started to realize just how organised some Peeps in this game are whilst trying to navigate my Pod home safe, was truly a whole new game for me, opened my eyes one could say, so in that respect I do believe the event was a success.
Yes it was poorly organised from my (noob) point of view, yet..and this cant be denied..it was bloody exciting play, I managed to get to the destination event and even engaged a few boats for a cpl of mins before my beloved Ishkur felt the full effect of nobody repping. I didn't get any kills though which in all honesty is my only real disappointment other than not really seeing the actual event itself as it was over by the time the fleet I was conscripted too beat the tidi meta.
Lets do it again Please Ccp, just this time a lil differently :)
Any Ishkur replacement donations can be contracted directly to this char..who will then ensure that the haribo'd alt in question has no qualms whatsoever about the consequences of her involvement and participation in that there trespassing exercise. |

So, let's organize it and do it again, but win this time. Take something out. Carebears in space with guns. Okay, maybe not win but at least get a couple kills (shots off at least!) before asploding. |

Welcome to Eve.
I am well aware of this. The problem is that CCP were running the event, had total control, LowSec had no dilation. So 3 jumps for us took 45 mins, Razor had nearly an hour to get organized, + they were all sat ready with 150k snipers, I logistically they are well organized but seems like they knew just were we would be. CCP even told us to jump in! This was lambs to the slaughter. I was one of the later fleet members to die watching everyone get owned the instant they get out of jump.

I was leading the Razor Fleet at that evening and that's the battlereport from our side:
We had a Maelstrom Fleet around in Curse with some friends to fight Nulli / PL / NC.
We got into Immensea where our enemies waited for us setup and ready to go. Suddenly our Scouts reported roughly 1000 "random" pilots from the CCP Event heading our way so we decided not to obliterate Nulli / NC / PL and go for more competent targets which were told to cross our home system Doril "soon". In Catch we went on a Titan that bridged us to Doril.
We changed ships to Armor Hacs (ARRRRMOOOOR HACS) and went to Sendaya Gate at 0km. We had roughly 150 Razor members in fleet at that time, awaiting 1200 "random" targets to jump into us. Ofc we expected the targets to be a bit unorganized that's why we went for it even thou the odds were against us bigtimes.
A Goonswarm Dominix Fleet showed up to help us (read: steal our kills). Random Ships jumped in and were killed before people without Sensorbooster could even lock stuff. It turned into a turkeyshoot.
Our tanks were holding until unhonorable Pandemic Legion cynoed in Snipy Coward Navy Apocs to stop us from fighting the ~goodfitez~.
Needless to say that we obliterated almost everything from the CCP Event that jumped in. Also we obliterated the PL Navy Apoc Fleet later on without losses.
Welcome to Curse. |

LOL I believe they call that "Lemming" behavior. There is no such thing as a PVE (only) event in EVE. Stop making bad assumptions. Everyone clearly knows the difference between a PVE and a PVP fit. Most people were in a PVE fit as they were given the impression this was a pirate NPC event. The response on the coms that we were going to 0.4sec 10 min's prior to the event start was shock. Most people didn't know. This was simply down to unclear communication from CCP. The situation of the sites kind of gave my fleet a good idea. Hence being in a PVP fit to the most part. Most people thought CCP had engineered some new mechanic where they were forming LS fleets (pirates) and flagging them so their could be a 0.5 sec fight. That was one of the general ideas. (temp security status drop etc) Look i went into the fight partially PVE but mostly PVP fit as i had no idea what the event was going to be. Those from the highsec block who went to syndicate where ONE jump from dodixie wich is a main trade hub.I passed by the staging system when they where leaving yet i had time to buy and fit a puriifier ... loose it , buy and refit a new ship in an npc null station from market , loose it then buy and refit a ship from null npc station market AND loose it once more and buy and refit a ship ...
I must be some kind of god to be able to do that while others did not even have the chance to refit ONCE ?
Also it was mentioned an hour before that the null sec guys should form up IN null sec.So they take the risk to go through null sec and get shot down every jump including the form up point full of neuts and reds but you guys should be totally safe from any harm done? And why would they need to form up iin null ... gosh i wonder , maybe that was a hint that pvp was about to happen? It was the only reason you did see people from null sec gathering there because they DID use their brains and could see from a mile away that there was gonna be a massive slugfest to be had.
You can whine and complain all you want , in the end it is your own fault to miss the totally clear endgoal of the event. But then some people need to have something explained out in CLEAR WORDS before they get the picture right? |
