Sorry for not reading entire thread (I did read first 3 pages) but its just too big.
Since EVE corps/alliances is complicated, why not make it more complex? (no Im not sarcastic)
My idea is adding another layer, where sub-corps (divisions) have limit of 1300. Corp could then be made up of several divisions. All the divisions could have both shared and unique hangars, shared and unique chat etc.
The way I see it Goons have objections with non-shared hangars. Adding hangars that can be shared between corps (alliance hangar) would probably be enough. But with big corps logistics starts really piling up.
Btw. IRL big corps are never monolithic AFAIK. Make corps able to subdivide for easier logistics.

While being able to create sectors or segments within a corp might make things easier, it doesn't alter the fact that trying to run a single corp, but being forced to break it up into two seperate corps is a logistical nightmare, especially for a corp as red as GF. Offices/hangars/standings/etc. create twice the amount of work for our already overworked directors. Because of the limitations of the alliance system, and because we are already in an alliance with numerous non-goon corps, creating a faceted goonfleet alliance just isn't feasible.
You're right about one thing though: logistically, being able to break a corporation into smaller segments would potentially make things easier for those corps who so desire (edit: assuming you retain the ability to manage things such as offices/standings/hangars on a corp-wide scale as easily as you can under the current system). The current situation, however, is not the same as what you're describing, and your proposal would in all likelihood require a LOT more work than what we've asked for. It would definitely make it easier to micromanage a corp, but micromanagement isn't always desired or feasible.
But Tux has replied to our thread in General, and that's all we've ever wanted.

I'm very curious about what the GM's will do. I'dd say, keep an eye on the path notes!!
Personally, just to add my opinion like everyone else, don't see any reason not to release a skill which will add more members to your corp. Member amount restrictions make no sense at all, not any game has these, neither should EVE.
Unless there are technical diffitulties for this. I can imagine no on ever tried to create a corporation of this size in any game, especially with the corporation functions this game has, it can be a problem.
Hope this tread will not get bumped anymore :-).
