sorry to be contrary to everyone else's opinions here... but I don't see it.
watched the silly little video, and the first thing that comes to mind?
Competent management FTW!
Communication. Delegation. a corporation helping their members develop to not be wholely dependant on the corp, and actually function as players rather than as members of a hive.
none of the problems mentioned are outside the means already provided in the game.
no reason it should be easy to manage that many people.
(and I thought if you ganged with a person whos in a war you can fight with them?

So basicly you want it to be difficult to have many members, for no good reason? I think it should be up to the corp to decide what they want to be and how they want to work together - not the game.

so tell me again why ccp shouldn't release the sov skill to allow corps like goonfleet to keep growing instead of having to make multiple corps to get around an artificial limit being imposed by ccp?

really not being contrary for the sake of contraryness.... I just don't see the need. it SHOULD be a challenge of leadership and management to keep a handle on that many people.

because having that many people in one organization is what Alliances are for. and theres NOTHING stopping them from having things better organized and managed to solve ALL the problems mentioned.

Unless its deliberately made to be that way (and there is no reason it should be) the skill should be released.

How would an alliance solve their problem of wanting to have hangars to which all members of those two (and soon three) corps have access to? They asked for that skill for a long time, and given that the skill is already in CCPs database, it shouldn t be a big problem releasing it, right?

Alliances aren't intended to limit a single corporation to 1300 people. The real limitation is that there is no skill beyond Empire Control seeded ingame, even though "Sovereignty", a skill which allows +1000 people per level, is listed in the database. While alliances help mitigate some of the problems of having more than one corp, they certainly don't solve all of them. Barring some compelling reason that a corporation should be disallowed from having 1301 members, I believe that CCP should seed the skill on the market. It would probably be one of the easiest things to do, and would effect a relatively small number of people, who would then shut up and stop posting flash animations on their forums :)

Its a challenge enough just with one corp let alone 2 or more. Being a director in goonfleet is almost like a full time job, do you know how many convos and evemails they get and how many people and issues they need to deal with on a daily basis? Managing 2,000 players, many of who have only been playing for a few months, is a huge task.

the alliance wouldnt' solve THAT problem. competant management and delegation would. like maybe have a cross-corperation "department" that would manage making sure that all hangars were sufficiently equipped, and transferring between them. or maybe have each corp have a person independently in charge of producing and managing their "division"'s assets.

Take it the animation was done pre OSS, tbh i have mixed feelings about goons growing larger especially now they control all crokite systems in syndicate. But i have nout against them gettin a large corp control skill, but It should have some intresting penalties and costs I think, perhaps a challenge to obtain it some sort of cosmos mission.

The text was written recently and the flash animation was done in the last couple days.

That's the price you've chosen to pay, though. CCP have higher priorities and you have the alliance system.
Come on now... there is NO reason to make it difficult to have several thousands of members in a corporation. Why not make it as easy as possible?

It cant take that long to seed a skill that is already in the database.
