"Highly doubt" is not good enough. You cannot rely on a doubt..you have to etst and be sure - in the case of something like this, likely a full regression analysis on all corp-related functions.
And what about alliance chat? Or common chat channels? Theres no limit on these as far as I'm aware.

Tbh not having this skill in game makes no sense. I don't personally know any of the parties having the fights down in Syndicate, nor do I really care.
If a corp wants 1 or 10,000 members it should be their own choice. They'd already have to train an additional skill which takes time to expand the limit with soverignty, and i'd suspect the price would be fairly expensive as well.
More power to you guys, hopefully they'll reply with something at least.

I'd have to say the only reason I could think of not to seed the skill (other than some obscure technical problem) would be the fact that they're using the current corp size limit as a deterent for certain power blocks becoming too big. The development team seems to want to push things toward a smaller, more localized scale rather than the multi-regional power blocks of the past (and in some instances of the present). Large concentrations of wealth or power (in this instance pilot numbers) can create a vastly unequal playing field in which some may feel deterred from playing at all. This is probably even more so in a game with such large PVP tendencies in the multiple facets of gameplay like EVE.
I'd trust the devs in whatever decision they make on this matter as they've done a pretty darn good job so far with EVE. If anything it'd just be nice to have an explanation of why it isn't being seeded (if it's not going to be).

I have no problem with the devs wanting to put limits on a single corp's membership, but they could at least do us the favor of telling us that, rather than remaining silent for months and months despite repeated requests to clarify. I see devs post in some Eve-O threads within the first or second posts in General Discussion - can't we get a single explanatory post after 10 weeks of waiting in the skills forum?

Yes, this is something along the lines i asked earlier.. maybe they dont want very big corporations in the game for this reason? But alliances are OK?
Seems the devs prefer not to take a stand at all in this issue at this time.

Yah, as far as I can tell, there doesn't seem to be any real reason why the skill shouldn't be in the game.
Lastly, I think that all announcement banners in the Corp/Alliance sections should now be required to be submitted as flash anims meeting this new standard that's been set.
Double lastly, someday I'll grow up and my face won't be an exclamation point anymore. Maybe. Nah...

Awesome movie. Mad props to whoever made it and did the voice.
Also, totally agree with the statement that the new skill is needed, it's just absolutely retarded to have to for another corp when you get "too big".
Wish CCP would for once focus on the things that are needed most instead of shiny new toys and new bugs to introduce. |
