How ist the "traffick control" supposed to work huh?
I get a message "numer bla" and still can cruise around and do things. But Autopilot does not work and I cannot jump through other gates.
So am I still visible to others too and cannot cancel the queue? Just in case the gate gets comfy...bs

This is just cosmetic, but... anyway:
When you claim escrow items are shown in a nice tabbed column format, like this:
- Item 1
- Item 2
- Item 3
- Item 4
But when you put items into escrow are displayed like this:
Item 1Item 2Item 3
So it's difficult to review the items, but as I said, it's just cosmetical, there're more important bugs out there. *cough* courier missions *cough*

I have to admit I love CCP...all these new shiny buttons everywhere...a symbol for cash in mission details...yay exactly what was needed for 2 years now...surprisingly enough for me the lag get¦s even worse but why the heck shouldsomeone care about lag and a pretty much unplayable game when we have all these new shiny buttons everywhere to play around while waiting 7 minutes for a reload or 5 minutes till any module is start/stop running...
the fact that I dont have any weapon/jump sound anymore is quite entertaining as well...not as much as the still not configurable UI with more then just 2 font sizes...
long awaited patch...nothing changed...good job there...

So You will have to work like everyone else, no more making profit and skill R&D-alts cruising afk.

Double check your firewall settings. I remember someone mentioning in another post that their software firewall saw the patched version as a whole new app. They generated a new exception for it and the connection problem was resolved.

For quite some time now, the eve site has not been working properly for me, with extremely logn load times, unnexplained errors, etc. Today, after the patch with no changes on my end, it is working better than ever.
Unrelated, or my vinegar and honey program I bought out of weekly world news, you decide.
Or it was the patch. Any way it goes, I'm a happy man.

TBH this is the first patch I have been genuinely unhappy with. CCP have done a horrible job on all elements of this. From the bugs where corpmates show up as neutrals, to NPCs shooting at long range to BPCs appearring as BPOs and giving free reign to escrow scammers. I even think the new interface changes are ugly.
What kills me is that NONE OF THIS WAS IN THE PATCH NOTES. Its ridiculous.
Queues in particular are the WORST single idea I have ever seen. Between the patchnotes being so ridiculously incomplete, and queueing, I'm starting to look at eve like I look at other mediocre MMOs. If CCP keeps up this level of crappyness I wont likely stay in the long run.
Get your house in order CCP, this is not acceptable.

Edited by: ZegTheBrick on 23/08/2006 21:03:20 In addition to my previous 'complaining a bit about the UI' post...
I notice that in most (all?) windows now the tab labels are not truncated, forcing the window to be rediculously massive horizontally. Here's the 'perfect example', trying to browse the agent list while looking up the route to them on the map:
A useful ammount of map area
Obviously, they could be smaller vertically, but its much easier to have a thin list with all the agents in view.

Originally by: Bero Tepesh Patch or not, I think a little more respect and consideration toward all PRESENT PAYING players would be greatly appreciated.
Too often changes and gameplay modifications are made thinking about the more players to come in the future and not about smooth gameplay of old players. I'm not talking about win 95/98/ME compatibility but general gameplay issues, and I'm getting tired of this.

Well, What can I say? I completely agree with you.

Originally by: btc01 Just wanted to say thanks to everyone at CCP for all their hard work. And a special thank you to the Dev team - well done for getting the new patch deployed! I know how hard things like this can be (As a software developer myself)
Cheers, Ben
Well I agree on the changes, that they are neccessary, but if I were to release such major changes as CCP is doing, I would have to look for another job, before the release. Totally unacceptable, what happened to small bugfixes and rewrite of the game code in smaller portions ? You wouldnt restart the evolution of the Homo Sapiens and have it done in 24 hours just because it has to be done. Small changes & and observation of the changes before new changes are implemented or added again.

Originally by: handlebars Ican't log in either, been 28 hours since i was able to log in...what really drives me nuts is this "We're up! We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience patch deployment may have caused. Note that minimal OS for Eve will be Windows 2000 SP2." TRANQUILLITY IS NOT UP!! is CCP mocking me deliberatly or what....and regular downtime scheduled to start in 30 minutes...no doubt servers will still be down when i return from work in 10 hours
oh yeah, and the petitions page of eve-online.com isn't working either
daily DT .. 1100 / 1200 eve time ... so it's not scheduled to start in 30min but already started since 45 min
In every patch there are problems, however, you seem to have a habit of having long downtimes whever there's a bigger patch released, Something has to be done about this CCP. Perhaps smaller patches?
Originally by: Grytok Tested half an hour before DT and it feels good so far, but like said before there are some really annoying issues like >> Overview does not keep column sizes, always resize during jumping, which is really annoying <<.
But the worst thing is, that there are no courier-missions anymore
BRING THEM BACK!!! Not with Kali, I want them back NOW
This one is really interesting! Get those missions back, you can't just clip the wings of those wishing to pursue this avenue of the game. I know I would be FUBAR if it happened to me.

These patch (Large Patch) days come once every 6 months if your lucky. So really for the ammount of stuff that comes with the patch, I think 24 hours (None playing time) is worth the wait.
Sorry, not really, I would prefer patches that are smaller and more often instead, already stated in previous post of mine. And I think I'm not the only one that has this point of view.
Originally by: sniper luke updated to the new version, played it for a few hours, nice little touches i see, one bug tho, I was in 0.3 sec mining in a barge and i jetted a can of jaspet, and the can didnt show up on overview, even though the rat killed cans were in overview, rabble rabble. Also some of the 16k rats, pop in and out of overview, one min there 40km away then they are not in overview, then they are back in overview at 3000m and shooting the crap out of me. But so far patch looks ok, and only minor bugs. thanks for the hard work ccp. regards Luke
When you loose that barge, you won't be so pleased as you are now, I would prefer a smaller patch more often instead and things working more along the StAbLe Avenue.
Originally by: Vinka Iceni I'd just like to say that post-patch the Eve client runs far more smoothly on my laptop with the UI being far quicker. I can actually run a depth buffer now and still have almost 10fps more than I did before - I don't know what you did, and possibly neither do you, but I like it!
I can actually do simple kill missions now without my laptop showing me the finger!
Just have to go home tonight and see what its like on my games rig!
Really CCP, god job. but I have to say that I don't have that many positive memories since I started out playing EVE-O, more along, Ohhh NOOOOOOO ITS another patch coming! Nooo mooore skills! Nooo mooore nerfs to this & that! More of those kinda feelings.
There are whole lot of issues with this patch, however, you have been, well, with the risk of exagerating, fast, to atleast get a grip of the issues. Good job there, but you still have quite a margin to improve on, a big one!
Originally by: Emperor D'Hoffryn show my corp members in space feature of the map shows people who are NOT in my corp, people in my corp who are offline, and none of the people in my corp who are online.
system visit count seems like it was disabled back in december, not sure if it was intentional, but was a nice feature.
Why not just remove these features? Just adding more and more unneccessary database info, slowing Eve-O down!
Originally by: Gli Liphon i'm sure last night was a total headache for all of you. a HUGE thanks for getting everything back up and running. i can't imagine doing maintenance on a production server with 20k+ users staring over my shoulder asking "are we there yet?!" you guys definitely put up with a lot from all of us... can't wait to get in tonight and see how everything looks! go have a few pints and get some rest... :D

Asketus, I have the same experience and feelings towards this game as you are having, Im gonna try this game for a while at the end of this month, I really need a break from EVE-0. CCP are doing great things, can't neglect that fact, however, the bad/lousy things are currently in favor of Miss Fortunes patch count.

Due to limited sparetime and school (and other stuff too) im genuinely disappointed by this patch.
1. Why bother with patchnotes, when all the major things are left out? (Where the coordination CCP?)
2. Still bugs me how such obvious bugs as missing mission text are not caught in QA.
3. Im starting to think that all the hotfixes implemented have started to collide and clutter up, creating chaos behavior.
Thankyou for you time, i sure hope that this patch is not an indication for things to come when the big patches start to arrive, if it is.. then im gonna pray...

CCP,
As a customer when I dont get the service I have paid for on occasion an appology is acceptable. However, of late all the down time and crashes and patches that fail and make you reinstall the entire game engine and loosing setups and folder structure is simply NOT acceptable. No more appologies. Give us someting, small refund, Skill time boost for the duration of the UNSCHEDULED down time, ISK credit, someting tangible becuase your appologies ain't cutting it anymore. Next step will be Moving to a new gaming provider. You do have competition, in case you may have overlooked that fact.
Not angry, no upset, simply feel I am not receiving the level of service expected and paid for.

I was just about to log on to Eve-Online, and play the remaining time left this month, to see the improvements, but , the games is offline.
I have a suggestion that would be appreciated by many, not just me. Maybe it's time for some reimbursement. Prolong everybodys playing time for 48 hrs atleast, this isn't much considering the problems with the current patch release and the previous server crashes/outages in the past few weeks.

I read the first three pages and noticed this wasn't posted already. Sorry if this was posted in 4-16 somewhere, but I have little desire to read it all. This basically a direct copy of what I said on the 'Known Issues' section of the forum. I suggest making a sticky there as well, as it seems to make more sense to have one there as well.
----
To start off, I have Windows XP Pro, service pack 2.
I am not able to connect to Tranq. I'm not crashing, my client just doesn't seem to be able to find the server. I was not able to connect to test server either after I patched it some weeks ago, but I didn't think anything of it.
Reinstalling EVE did nothing.
Restarting my computer did nothing.
Getting angry did nothing.
I am out of ideas.
Having to reinstall XP would be problematic, seeing as though I can't seem to be able to find my serial code right now.
Help me O'be Wan Kenobe, you're my only hope. Thank you for your time.
----
The patch may have broke the game, but at least you people made it in game!!!11one
