You're back! We love you.
Hope you can get some sleep - it's good to have the red screen taking away all my attempts at work today.

just wondering, i have the sisi test build on my client now, from the autopatcher. sharkbait said that this was ok for now, but i see that the patch on the site is 15.4 mb, the AP is the 18.4mb test patch. currently i am in game with that, but will i need to redownload the client or is this fine?

Oh sorry so we can't tell you how lousy a patch deployement this was yet again ?
I thought most problems were to arise because you were unable to replicate the game environment for testing ? ie impossible to test the patch before 27,000 users all jumped on it...
Obviously something else much more basic was at hand... since it took no players online whatsoever to create issues that delayed you for a good 12 hours...
The best Laugh ever ... Credit goes to Killer8 for this ! Oh and apparently the mods tell me there is bad language on his site so beware kids :) |

Patch issues are to be placed here.
Well, got an issue.
Try to buy an item from the market and look at the 'buy' screen.....
And this was on the testserver as well.
I hope it's just me....

I have a question. I'm not angry, this is just an inquiry:
What critical error occurred that caused the servers to be down an extra 7 hours? ___________________________ |

The Devs have been working on this deployment for over 16 hours, I think we are fully aware of how things went, even moreso than you are.
As for the issues, here's a C&P of an earlier analogy I made about the server problem.
Originally by: kieron For those that are saying this extended deployment time is the result of incomplete testing, the server issue we are trying to resolve is only occurring on Tranquility. We cannot duplicate it on the internal test servers, or Singularity, the external test server.
I would like to make this clear to a number of players. Due to the differences between Tranquility, Singularity and Chaos, not all the code migrates between the three flawlessly.
A poor analogy, but an analogy, nonetheless. Say you have a motor (code) you know works in your car (Chaos, internal test server). Move it over to a buddy's car (Singularity, external test server) and it works there, too. Put it in a different friend's truck (Tranquility) with a fuel system (server start-up code) that's supposed to be compatible, but it's just not working. The fuel system floods the motor and kills it before the motor starts.
I hope this gives some insight into what the team is trying to resolve.

Edited by: Lunabi on 23/08/2006 02:50:02 Edited by: Lunabi on 23/08/2006 02:49:47 After the server crash this morning, right before the patch downtime, my ship disappeared and is still missing after the patch.
The cargo of my ship was open and i was able to remove the items from my ship. Also i was able to remove the fitting from my ship but it still remained invisible. Then i boarded my Brutix and now and my loot cruiser total disappeared
Oh and before it forget, all my overview settings got deleted

I used the patch that the AP gave me, which was the test server build. Could we get a testserver 4557->normal 4557? Because with the testserver patch I have no more splash screen, and the buttons are square.

as already said Overview settings seem to have been scrubbed also I used the autopatcher on my tranquility build however on checking the cache folder the patch file it dl'd was named evepatch3913-4557_test and came in at 18.3mb can I clarify that this is the correct patch. My client runs fine on it but don't want to run into problems down the road if I am running with an incorrect build, to reiterate this was the patch the autodownloader gave me for my TQ build.

Before donwloading the patch 4557 I could pull up the log on screen and see how many people where playing.
After downloading the patch all I get is "Checking Staus..."
And the Unable to Connect error message.

Why, oh why, were courier missions removed? Now what is the difference between the different divisions if they all give combat missions?
On a more selfish note, because they were all changed to combat mission, I just totally wasted 20 days training my industrial ship skill to 5 for nothing as my intention was to do these missions while my alt can do other things which was another reason I got a 2nd system for. Yet again another change made by CCP that totally wasted training time on a skill I will no longer be using. I think I now have 5 million skill points, and around 6 months of time, wasted because of another major change that was done. Will it ever end?

Good job getting the servers up.
Problem on buying from market, when you right click and "Buy This" the UI that comes up is all shifted to the left - leaving out key details (like total purchase price). |
